Delicious food.
Awesome service.
Excellent ambiance.
What else could you ask for. The only thing that was forgotten was us sending compliments to the chef.
We ordered the Parmesan Crusted, and Herb Roasted fish dishes. Finished off with a slice of the Hula Pie.
Definitely stop by if you are in the area. Reservations recommended.

Beautiful location to enjoy your meals at Whalers Village. Whalers village is a tourist place for a good shopping too. Food is very good here and we loved the view of the beach . Evening there was a musical show too and had a good time.

One of my favorite restaurants in Hawaii! The sunset view from here is just breath-taking. And the food was delicious!
Our waitress was very nice and friendly. It's crazy that we traveled to Hawaii all the way from New York, and it just so happens that the waitress had attended the same high-school as me! What a coincidence!
We shared the Macadamia Nut Hummus for appetizer and it was so delicious that we finished it in a hurry because we couldn't have enough of it! It came with a side of taro chips that went perfectly with the hummus.
I ordered the Snapper from their Special menu. It was just amazing! It came with a coconut purple molokai sweet potato mash and a yellow curry emulsion that was just super delicious combined with the fish. I would order that dish again if they offered it on their regular menu!
This is a restaurant that I highly recommend visiting. Be sure to make reservations around sunset time!

Aloha spirit is rampant here. We came for an anniversary dinner, and Tyrene took phenomenal care of us. I tried the mai tai, which was very good and came in a really fun glass. We were there for sunset, and it is a spectacular view from nearly every seat in the restaurant. Had the ceviche And it came with tortilla chips on the side and guacamole on top and was fantastic. For main courses, we had the herb prepared fish, and the chicken and ribs. Added coconut shrimp as a main add-on and that was a smart move. At the end of dinner we had the Kimos original hula pie made famous in Lāhainā, and oh my gosh it was incredible. You will not be disappointed with whatever you order here.

Went here for my birthday dinner and got right in with a reservation. Beautiful sunset spot. Jared was our server and he was amazing! Very attentive, great recommendations and so friendly. We tried the calamari, famous crab cakes, salad, rib and chicken plate and ended the meal with a slice of Hula pie. So good! Great place for celebrating anniversaries and birthdays

An excellent restaurant with outstanding service and great food. Even though the menu was sorter due to them just reopening after the fires, the food was first class. Save room for the pie. It’s to die for. I’d highly recommend the fish tacos. The drinks, I had the lava flow, along with the sunset made the evening. Thank you.

The Beach Bar was our jam!!! So my partner and I came here in late May - twice. We were staying at the Hyatt Regency nearby so it was easy to walk there from our hotel.
The first time we went was the very day we got into Hawaii and we were sooo tired and thirsty. We walked along the walkway to the restaurant and took quick glances at the menu and loved what choices we saw. We loved the look and vibe of the Beach Bar, and since we just got into town and hadn’t made reservations this was a perfect option for us.
It was a cool spot right by the water where we watched the sunset and had fantastic food. As I mentioned we were soo tired and thirsty and honestly the tropical alcoholic drinks looked so fun but we opted for water- this time. The server was so kind and chill we felt right at ease in Maui already.
We ordered the beachside nachos with kalua pork and the farro and strawberries salad. Both so different and we devoured both!!! We split them so we could try each others. These were killer nachos. So much so that’s what brought us back a second time before leaving Maui. :) All the yummy toppings nachos should have right? We are talking pico, guac, sour cream, cheese and on the bottom there was a delicious and creamy refried black bean base. It was a huge serving of nachos too plenty for us to share and then some. We were very hungry and ate probably too many. Ha ha
The farro and strawberries salad was so different and fresh! Made with many locally sourced ingredients, like the surfing goat cheese - which was sooo creamy and paired so well with the greens, Kula strawberries and pecans. The toasted farro was something I’d never had on a salad and was pleasantly surprised. I’m a huge salad lover and always up for a different kind of salad mixing it up with some different ingredients and this didn’t disappoint.
We came back later in our trip again for the nachos and this time we shared the Maui Cobb Farmers Salad with grilled chicken, eggs, avacado, bacon, surfing goat cheese - again with locally sourced ingredients. My partner was a huge fan of this one, and I know cobbs are popular. This was a step above just so fresh!!!
We also opted for a tropical libation and they hit the spot! My partner ordered a Mai tai that not only was a beautiful color but it had a fun tiki glass to drink it out of ( no we couldn’t keep the glass). It was really delicious amd she woukd have gotten another but it was huge - aaaand we were planning on indulging in hula pie! I got the Hawaiian Punch served up in a hurricane glass and it was perfectly sweet and fruity. Fit the vibe and fun energy of the place!
On to this hula pie- this was insane. Never seen any pie so tall! Like ice cream pie that got hit by a Mac truck - macadamia nut truck that is - and rolled into Oreos. The crust was Oreo then ice cream with Mac nuts , chocolate fudge (that was also on the plate for you to scoop up yum!) and whipped cream. Heavenly and sinful but it’s vacation so that’s what ya do !! Lol I have a lactose intolerance so I couldn’t really enjoy the ice cream but I was enjoying the crust and chocolate. Ha ha
This place really was fun with fast service and great food and drink. What’s better they had great views and when you’re done you can walk around Whalers village that’s right there. Something on the menu for everyone!!
Larry Hansen
Great on the beach location provides very good fish tacos, burgers and hula pie! Lava flow cocktail had no shortage of rum!!
Laura Vanderbeek
My filet mignon was cooked to perfection, medium rare. Cattle ranching is big here and you'll definitely want to try some beef while in Maui if you're okay with eating it.
Chad Bell
This place is outstanding. Amazing views from the outdoor seating area, great for people watching or to get out of the sun.
They lacked bourbon based cocktails so we modified several to my liking. The hibiscus syrup old fashioned we put together was great. We then made a guava Smash which was well balanced and tasty. The lava flow is also highly recommended if you like Pina Clodas.
For lunch I had the fish tacos. Fish of the day was Marlin. Best fish tacos I've ever had. Had a bir of a kick which was nice but overall well seasoned and a well thought out menu item.
The cheeseburger was also a standout as it was well seasoned and cooked to our liking. Fries were mid as they had that annoying coating on them.
Several tables around us had the nachos and was told how food they were. Huge portion of nachos.
You are also not living if tou do t get the hula pie. It was gone before I could take a picture!
They also have so.e fun drink options for an upcharge. You can get your drink or smoothi in a pinaaple for $8. You're in Hawaii...live a little and do it. Males for a bit more flavor and a lot more flair. For $5 you can get a coconut cup for your drink that you can take home.
Overall I give it a 9.5 out of 10. We had a great meal with a killer view and goo service. This gets my platinum recommendation.

After 20 years we came back to Leilani’s. Visited this restaurant on our honeymoon and finally brought our kids back. Great food, atmosphere and service. Dahma was our waitress and she was great. Get the hula pie for dessert with extra macadamia nuts!
Celine Ho
Nice open air resto facing beach/sunset, nice air coming in! Price was good with kid menu as well! Had the laina chicken/pork, fish ceviche and mai tai! With two kids menus.

Ate at the Beach Bar a couple times during our stay. It was nice to be able to get a table here while the wait was hours at some of the nearby restaurants. The Beachside Nachos with kalua pork were amazing. The Mai Tai and Hula Pie are also must tries!
Kim Branton
We visited Leilani's tonight with the intent of ordering fish and chips (that we had last week at the beach bar) and we were surprised to learn that this restaurant has two different menus, one for the beach bar and one for the upstairs restaurant and they're not interchangeable. That said, we decided to make the best of it and ordered the vegetable plate and the chicken and ribs and both were DELICIOUS. I am not a fish lover so the menu was limited in terms of non seafood options, but the vegetable plate was so delicious I would choose it again and again even if there was a multitude of alternatives, my husband had the chicken and ribs and his chicken was tender, his ribs flavourful and the fries nice and crispy; so yummy! This was the best meal we've had on Maui and our server Derek was fast, knowledgeable and very personable. We even decided to splurge on dessert, we had the lilikoi pie, and it was absolutely amazing. It's sugar, dairy and gluten free but you'd never know it, it's smooth and silky and so delightful; I highly recommend anyone with or without special food requirements (which we don't have) give it a try! You won't be disappointed. 5 stars! Highly recommend! Thanks for the great evening!
Rachel Vernon
Wow! We were stunned by this restaurant! The food was the best food we had in Maui! The staff were awesome! And the ambiance was incredible. We had the mahi mahi and the local fish and both were amazing! Also, it is a must to get the Hula Pie!!!
Jeremiah Hoehner
The food here is outstanding, and they have many gluten-free options! The view of the ocean with the sun setting is worth booking this place, so be sure to request a table facing the ocean. That's a huge perk in addition to their amazing food! The desserts were stunning. The hula pie is absolutely epic in size and taste. You can see in the pic below that other guests were simply amazed at the scale of it when it was delivered to our table. You can see the awestruck looks. Go here and treat yourself to a great meal and a monstrous dessert.
Renee
Overall a good experience other than really the wait time on the food. However we do admit we had a rather large party so we did understand timing for all the meals. Our server was very nice and accommodating. We didn’t have rail seating however with the openness we were all still able to get a clear view of the water.
Lwatt1007
The food was fantastic, but the service left something to be desired. We sat with empty drinks for about 45 minutes and had to request refills.
Having a different server would probably make all the difference.
Michael Peters
Made a booking to sit on the railing to watch the sunset a few days prior... DO NOT BOTHER MAKING A BOOKING... you get put in line, they sit you wherever is available and it’s a waste! There’s a line for those who have made reservations and a line for walk ins... Over priced, fish over cooked, veggies barely cooked and a bad experience overall. We ended up in the corner, no views at all and simply bad! Don’t bother with this place... there are better places to go.
SR
Service was friendly and good. The setting, in front of Kaanapali Beach, was great. But the food was not good. Ordered several items to share, did not enjoy any of them (chicken wings were particularly bad, fish tacos were lacking, and coconut shrimp was ... okay).
Marianne Fidel
After staying in Maui for 5 nights, my husband and I visited Leilani's 4 times. A huge testament to how much we liked it given that we both wanted to try different food.

It's located right by the water next to the Westin Maui and Whaler's Village. The service was great every time and the food was on point. Favourite definitely had to be the pulled pork nachos. I ordered this about 3 times. Also tried the chicken but the pork seemed to have a lot more meat. Very generous service for the price we paid.

Loved it and would definitely go back next time we are in Maui.
David R. Brown
We were here again to see JD & Harry perform but I have to say, this place has the best salads on the island! Fish tacos are special too and the service is excellent. Highly recommended even if JD isn't playing!

Not sure if it's because we were famished after a 15 hour day of flying or what, but this place was great. The nachos with chicken was one of the best I've had. Paired it with a cosmo hazed up with local flavors and it was delish. My friend has the Lime in the Coconut and it was so refreshing! The cheeseburgers we had for entrees were tasty too, although nothing to write home about. We will visit again before our trip is over for more nachos and beverages! Great beach ambiance.
James
Fantastic beachside restaurant. Great US service standards. Good wine list, with a focus on California wines, some overseas, including an Australian wine. Good menu, mostly fish, but had steak, chicken etc. Our party had lobster, which was great, mahi mahi which was good, but too many sauces. Salad appetiters were great, both the caprese and the triple goats cheese.

A great night out.
Adrian P
Very enjoyable food which was reasonably priced. Great atmosphere on the beach. We went there 2 nights in a row. Received excellent, friendly service from 'Mick'. The next night we received rather disinterested service from our waitress.
David
I enjoyed my dinner here. The setting is great, beach and sunset. I had the fresh fish which was very good. We also had the coconut shrimp and that had good flavor. I would recommend. Service was good, no real complaints.
Cincy123
This is an okay restaurant. It's definitely nothing special, especially for the price. We wouldn't come back in the future.
BeenBitten
We only stopped in for Hula Pie, but we'll probably be back for dinner. Hula Pie did not disappoint and was tasty. Not something to write home about though.
Shane Schultz
Great view, quiet. Got the beachside burger and split it in half and that satisfied the hunger.
Gregg Fresonke
Fish & chips for lunch today, $16.95 were disappointing. Too much batter on cod made them extremely greasy. Fries were cold, greasy, and undercooked. I pointed this out to the waitress and she gladly brought a new basket which were also under cooked and greasy, but warmer.
Phil
Nice location right on the beach and the food was pretty good.
Laura
This restaurant has a perfect view of the ocean located right on the beach. The fish tacos and the fish and chips are amazing! I'd recommend this place to anyone!
Chrisandamandawolf
Great apps and dessert!. I have been to Maui three times and this was our third time going to Leilani's. The service was good and the food was also good. Definitely not our most amazing meal, but still good. The apps were the best part of the meal we had the butter poached scallops and the mushroom ravioli, both were amazing! The entrees were good, but not worth the $25-$35 per plate. We also enjoyed desserts.... we ordered every dessert :). We were offered a free hula pie since we were returning customers, which we also received the last time. All desserts were very good we did not have problem a finishing them all. The messy apple crisp would have to be number one.
Donald Durham
Misleading. The menu outside had a specials list when we were seated it was not on the menu, when asked they told us it was only offered between 5:00 and 6:00. When we checked on the way out it said nothing to that effect. The food was mediocre. The shrimp scampi smelled and tasted fishy. Iced tea had no ice. Parked at the parking garage next to Whalers Village and they charged us $12.00 for two hours. Won't be back!
Ccsta2
Fish tacos and sweet potato fries are a must!! Happy hour is also very enjoyable - highly recommend

Favorite Spot!. One of our favorites on Maui. Right on the waterfront, great atmosphere and awesome staff! Highly recommended!
LMA
One of our favorites on the island. This is a must stop for us when we visit Maui. Fresh ingredients and great quality. Save room for Hula Pie!
Chocolate.Factory
Dinner was tasty & reasonably priced. Service wasn't anything special....staff were busy & overworked....plus they tended to chat amongst themselves whenever they had a spare minute..... Prolly more exciting than attending to paying patrons?? Hula pie is the best thing on their menu!
HotRodder72
Nice Dinner and View on 8/13/13. Upstairs restaurant was good and the view is nice. Spicy Ahi Tuna and cracker and parmesan dusted Opah with some sort of lemon reduction were the main courses. Both were very good and the waiter was attentive. We parked next door and Leilani's validated parking which was a nice perk.
Cdtraveller
Best choice in whalers village. Great fish tacos, atmosphere and service. Big step up from the Hula Grill.
Karen
Upstairs restaurant was fairly good, a little pricey but has a musty smell. Downstairs food was bland. We got fish tacos (which are supposed to be "award winning") the fish was over cooked & the worst we've had yet on Maui. The pork Cuban was tasteless.
Justin H
We did the bar version outside and loved it. It was the perfect escape from all the overpriced tourist trap resort style restaurants. You can't actually see the beach eventhough you are right next to it but it was a fun family style atmosphere with out all the expensive costs of the other restaurants in the area.
Liz
We thought the view, the service, and the food were very nice. I do object being stuck with a parking fee that rivals the generous tip we left our server. Hula Pie was a treat, nice place. Good food & service was excellent.
RVA Gastronome
Really good!. My wife and I hada wonderful experience at Leilani's. The open-air dining room is spectacular. It's just unfortunate that we went at night and couldn't see the ocean view.

We had the crabcake appetizer, which was absolutely phenomenal. Frankly, it was better than any I've ever had in Maryland. It was served with a spicy aioli and a sort of pico-de-gallo type of thing. Absolute heaven.

For out entree, we split a grilled mahi mahi, which was superb.

Definitely worth a return trip.

Overall rating: 4 out of 5.

A Must Have. We frequent this place atleast once per trip. They have a wonderful view of the beach, in the middle of some great shopping. I highly recommend the Ono Fish Tacos. Literally the best fish tacos I have ever eaten.
David G
We ate here for breakfast. We had omelettes and scrambled eggs. The food was average and the service was disappointing. On the bright side you can't beat it for the view of the beach and the ambience
Michael Modak-Truran
The steak was good, but the fish preparation was a different story. The miso glaze I tried was horrible. It is ashamed that they destroyed such a good piece of fish. Do not recommend.
Leland Robertd
This was delicious! Fish Tacos were fantastic, great view at Sunset.
Jon
We were suprised at the short wait on a Saturday night. We ate in the beachside bar. Excellent food and reasonable pricing. We had coconut schrimp and fish and chips. Excellent A general problem in the islands is the lack of quality craft beer. Maui Brewing and Kona are palatable but just!
Gillian
Best tacos I had while in Maui ! Very friendly server( she taught the kids some Hawaiian) and the best sunset views. Go early, there's a bit of a wait if you want the outside beach tables.
Quiel
Double Kobe burger with Maui onions, it was the best
Michelle Cerami
Absolutely love this place. Come by all the time. Great burgers (Double Kobe) and fish tacos. Staff is great. Food is superb. Atmosphere is fun. Love it.
PorkChop
Both menus are awesome. I feel like this place needs two different reviews since it offers two different dining experiences... and I've done both. So here goes:

The upstairs area offers a fine dining menu. My husband and I both agree it was the most elegant and best priced meal during our entire stay in Maui. We shared an appetizer salad (the caprese) and both selected two different fish specials. Add wine, coffee and a shared dessert, all for around $100 including tip. The service was outstanding and the meal was, like I said, amazing. Everything was well presented, fresh, flavourful and satisfying. Definitely go to Leilani's (dining room) for an elegant and delicious meal.

The downstairs area (beachside) is more suitable for lunch with great sandwiches, salads, burgers and beer. It was pretty good. I enjoyed it a little too much (surfing lessons immediately after indulging is not recommended...).

We will be back to Leilani's on our next Maui visit, for sure.
Monica Pileggi
Fun atmosphere and good food. May 2011: Tony and I dined here twice and enjoyed our evenings. Both times we started the evening at the bar drinking tasty mai tai's (served by Johnny). They were very good but a little pricey and I think the ones at the Hale Koa in Waikiki were much better.

Food is very good. One evening we just sat at the bar, talked with Johnny and ate a couple of appetizers: Fried calamari (very good and lightly battered) and the nachos with Kalua pig. Oh wow, they were the best nacho's I've ever had! Of course, the tender pork made the dish.

Johnny asked if we had our receipt from the previous night. We did, so we were given a complimentary hula pie for dessert. He later gave us an extra receipt for this evening to use another night. The hula pie was rich and very filling with its oreo-like cookie crust, ice cream, whipped cream, and topped with chopped macadamia nuts.

For the other evening, we sat at a table listening to the live music, watched the sun set, and enjoying our food. I had the Kalua pig Cuban sandwich and a salad; Tony had the Kobe burger with a salad. Everything was excellent.

Prices are reasonable, as this is the casual part of the restaurant. Their main dining room is expensive and probably worth the splurge.

Overall, I do recommend this place for good food and good fun.
Blubouie
Meh. Douchey wait staff, mediocre food, weak drinks equals not really worth it.
Jpc Pdx
Weekest drinks I have ever tasted! Don't order mai-tai. Salad ok, fish & chips mediocre at best. We only come here for the view.
Mrhogue
We had a delightful dinner downstairs with the bar menu. My Ono fish tacos were great!
Jenny Schram
Such a great restaurant! We sat on the deck and saw the sunset go down, very pretty! The service was great, and the food was worth the cost!
Tastebuddy
Great food, staff, and views. The ono is wonderful!! Great food and experience everytime. Extensive menu with so many great choices.
I prefer the downstairs for more of a casual dining experience
Jim S
Great food, great service. Must for local seafood dishes. Request the upper deck for the best views of the ocean. Try the local fish dishes you won't be disappointed. Great value!
Preston Sokol
Service was great however the food wasn't too good. My vegtables and rice where cold the fish I had was ok. There are many more options when dining in Maui. I wouldn't consider eating here again.
Katie Morey-Johnson
Fun Beach Location, Great Food!. Right next to Whalers Village, with awesome beachside dining. I had the Shredded Pork Sandwich, which was awesome, and my husband did the fish tacos, which he really enjoyed. Great Service, and fun people watching! We'll be back!
Marc1234
Pretty good. They were a little hesitant to alter the menu items at all. Hula grill a few feet away (and owned by the same company) was a better experience
Scott On Maui
Great place for visitors. Overall It's ok. You can do much better I assure you.

I love the bar. Okay maybe it was the attentive bartenders but had a great time and can't wait to return...and I did. So the next time when I'm in paradise it's definitely on my must go to again places.
Celia Lewis
Service was slow. Drink order got screwed up and took 30 minutes to correct. Advised waiter that I was a vegetarian since menu had no vegetarian meal entrees. Waiter stated they would accomodate my order with vegetables and polenta. Another waited delivered my meal advising entree as vegetables over pasta with polenta. Pasta was missing and since drink order had been screwed up, and food took long to come, we just wanted to get out of there.

Wonderful meal!. We ate on a hot and breezy night and moved from an outdoor table to one indoors. The food and service was excellent; far better than I remembered from previous visits. We had steak, seafood and pasta and all of it was excellent. Great cocktails too!
Rhay
Great happy hour tacos!. We really enjoyed taco tuesday happy hour! the tacos and nachos were great and the huge ice cream pie was incredible!
Kim
O.K. but better off at Hula Grill. Very similar to Hula Grill. Owned by the same parent company, but way better food and service at Hula Grill.
Bill Barksdale
Never a bad meal. Be sure to sit downstairs and not upstairs. It's more laid back. Arrive in the early evening and watch the sunset while eating Hula Pie!!!
Lauracooks
Great plce for a snack after a day at the beach. Great food , great view. love this place
Laura McDermott
Nice but busy!. Food was good, I had a wonderful salad and some salmon. Very busy, make a reservation!

My husband had a hanker'n for prime rib and we were already at Whaler's Village so we stopped At Leilani's. At 7pm they were already out of prime rib and the waiter said that they had only prepared 7 servings for the entire night - DH ended up having bb ribs they were OK - but not prime rib

Fantastic service... Awesome view beachside at sunset... the Kobe burgers were fantastic as well as the large dessert!
Slam411
This place was a good value for being beach front in a tourist trap. I had the salmon and crab melt. Very tasty though the toast was a little soggy. But, when will you see a toast stay crispy with tomatos, celery, onions, capers, crab and salmon inside. The hula pie was huge. Awesome eats!
Woofy
Low prices were commesurate with quality of service and food, at least the location was good.
Molly Davis Atkinson
The fish tacos are the best I've ever had. The fish & chips were great as well. I thought the prices were great. A lot less than I had expected.
Marshall
Here fishy, fishy. Try the fish taco. Seriously. It's done so perfectly that it melts in your mouth and stays off the plate. I'm not a big seafood guy, but this food is amazing. We headed back for a second time in a couple of months and this was a "must visit" lunch. The view is right on the beach with the ocean just meters from your seat. The open air dining is truly a treat and the cocktails will have you feeling it better then the Maui wowy...

Good food. Nice view. Service was good by a nice wait staff.

The set up felt like a giant patio, there was no live music but the tables felt less crowded than Hula Grill. Giant umbrellas provided shade and protection from the rain, which turned into a heavy pour while we ate...

Star Noodle When I researched where to eat in Lahaina, Star Noodle came up on top at just about every site. We were reaffirmed by several concierge that it is very close by, mighty delicious, and the wait is always long. After looking through pictures, reading and hearing raved reviews, I was particularly thrilled about this place. And that should be the first indicator how not to go about dining; with a super hyped-up expectation. My two traveling companions were more skeptical and, thus, nothing was surprising to them. Star Noodle is located off the highway, almost in seclusion but with plenty of parking space. We got there at 6 pm and were not the first to be hovering around the front door. As expected, we were told our wait would be around an hour or so. Thus, we wandered off after putting our name down but still returned within the half hour. We got our table shortly after and although we had doubts whether the hostess knew how to properly do her job, we were pleased with t

Leilani's is really two different restaurants with similar names in one building. The upstairs restaurant, Leilani's Island Fish & Steaks, is the fine dining restaurant and only serves dinner. The downstairs restaurant, Leilani's Beachside Grill, is more casual, less expensive, has a more limited menu, and is open for both lunch and dinner. Leilani's is on the beach side of Whalers Village shopping center in Kaanapali . Phone 808-661-4495. Leilani's menu upstairs includes several Hawaiian fish, s
