One of the best Mexican kitchens in Lafayette. Great tasting, high quality, quickly prepared food at a great price. Friendly staff and relaxed environment. Highly recommend.
Been in every restaurant in Lafayette that serves tacos.. No one comes close to thier chicken tacos. So friggin delicious!

Awesome food1 Great family runs El Chicano and the New York Café. Take a gang there and get American or Mexican food. Everyone will find something on the menu they enjoy.
Excellent, authentic and flavorful food. The carnitas tacos were juicy and the best I've tasted! A family operated business and wonderful service. We will definitely come back and bringing our friends.
Caldos.. oh the caldos.... We have some very good Mexican food in Lafayette. I'd be hard pressed to pick an absolute favorite, but for sit-down dining we go where the cooks at the more fancy places downtown go - El Chicano ;)
My favorites are the various caldos they have (definitely a full meal or big enough to split with others) and their whole tilapia, deep fried. There's something incredibly wonderful about just digging into a whole fish ;)
I've also enjoyed their other fish dishes (the fish with orange is very tasty) and their carnitas/carne asada. The burrito was a little bit too big for me, but I think a perfect size to split. ;)
The service is friendly, it's not always speedy because it's cooked to order. That's fine by me - with a good selection of Mexican beers, good appetizers and caldos and good company waiting a little bit for great Mexican food is not a problem.
I ordered a taco de carne asada and a tostada with chicken. My husband ordered his favorite, the huevos con chorizo. Once our order was taken, I could hear the chef cooking in the back, and maybe it’s not for everyone, but I enjoyed the sounds of the sizzling grill.
Best tacos im whole Lafayette! I come here once a week and im never disappointed.. literally every kind of meat taco is delicious

I love the location it's very easy to find and they are very welcoming and quick on service. I love the decorations reminds me of Mexico which is my fav place in the world. Thanks for the great food and service.
My favorite Mexican restaurant in town. Small business ran by a local Mexican family. Food is delicious and service is friendly. The owners makes it a priority to have fresh ingredients and generous portions. They even gave us a Christmas card last Christmas to thank us for being regulars, they always ask about our family and how everyone is doing. They are so kind and the food speaks for itself!
This is my absolute favorite place to eat in Lafayette!!

I have never had their big plates but if you go simple, you can’t go wrong. Tacos are amazing! Burritos are fire and the torras are fantastic! Micheladas are a go! Expect to spend 10-15$ per person with drink and all.
I've been wanting to visit this place since the first time I noticed it- most definitely a hidden gem! The food is affordable and delicious, service was quick and the staff is very friendly. They have the best horchata and amazing queso! I was saddened to see the restaurant empty when we came in. I really hope that they get more business because this place is terrific.
I love this place i go at least once a week sometimes 2 or 3 times a week i love their Steak Tacos
