Cant go wrong with pancakes bigger then your head ! Great food , cute old country style cafe , indoor and out door seating. Tons of parking . great service . deff a fav spot for breakfast but loads of other options and a huge board of listed pies !

You can get some great food at a reasonable price here. We had the Café Omelet and the House Omelet and both were delicious. The kids had chicken fingers and they seemed to like those. They have enough variety on their menu that it's worth coming back.

This is a fun little dinner with decent prices and portions. Quick service and good comfort food, but maybe stick to breakfast. Lunch is not the best among frozen burgers and fries.

Shellies is awesome comfort food. I have never had a bad meal here. I usually just choose whatever the special is for the day and let fate take me from there. Everyone is always nice and service is great.

Shellie's Cafe on Teal Road Lafayette Indiana. Is truly a HomeTown family oriented business. Their country fried steak and scrambler was great. The country fried steak was one of the best in the long time. The Host promptly gave the two kids in our party placemats to color on with crayons which also had the kids menu on it!

There is nothing fantastic about this cafe!
The food is mediocre and does not stand out nor is it bad.
The service is just ok, I've been a server for some time when I was younger and so I know great servers from average and they are ALL average.
The prices ARE high on some things but ok on others.
This isn't a place you look forward to going to for a meal it's a quick place for a bite if its convenient!
Wher you have a 50/50 chance of leaving satisfied with your experience.
This is after roughly 20 visits to the place over 5 years

It was the worst place ever. We had water glasses with curdled milk left in both cups. The food had no flavor, american fries were cold, and the dog took a few minutes to even think about eating it.

Shelle's is meh at best. Food is okay (not great), but customer service leaves something to be desired.

Good cafe. We go to Shellie's quite often and have never had bad service or been charged wrong. Shellie's is a good place to eat and her prices are good. We always get great service.
Any restaurant charges extra when you order frys instead of the chips that the menu states comes with the sandwich. There isn't a cafe or restaurant around that charges 3.48 for a sandwich and fries, maybe 10-15 years ago.
We went to Breakfast Nook twice and they can't be compared to Shellie's. Our service wasn't very good and the food wasn't very good. We won't go back there.

Mediocre food and terrible customer service. I have lived around the corner for 4 years and never gone to Shellie's. Today was my first and last visit. The food was meh and the customer service was terrible. If you want a cafe, Indiana is chock full of delicious authentic cafes, Shellie's is not one of them. (If you want suggestions check out the Cafe Indiana book.) The food is average and the prices are okay. Some things are cheap & some things seemed over priced. I ordered an egg salad sandwich which came with chips. I asked for fries instead and not being told there would be an additional charge, I assumed there would be none. When we got our bill I was charged the full price of the sandwich ($3.48) and full price for an ala carte order of fries ($2.29.) I said something to the waitress, pointing out that she hadn't said there would be an additional charge for fries. She talked to Shellie herself, who wouldn't budge on charging for the fries. I have been a waitress, and you never charge a customer extra without telling them beforehand. I definitely wouldn't have gotten the fries if I knew they would charge $2.29 for a handful of fries. There is much better food locally, with better customer service to boot. Right up the street from Shellie's is the Breakfast Nook, where we will be going from now on.

Awesome breakfast.

Correct Name. Although many think the name of this diner is "Shelly's Cafe" it is actually called "Shellie's Cafe".

Demands Tips. Shelly's used to be one of our favorite restaurants- my husband recently visited the restaurant with his co-workers- they each paid seperately- my husband wasn't displeased with the service, nor was he impressed. He didn't leave a tip- he was chased down in the parking lot by an employee demanding he pay the tip for his 'group'-
we will never dine there again.

Shellie's serves great breakfasts. They are fairly consistant in quality, food and service. All the ladies are friendly and helpful. - Their Broasted chicken on Wednesdays Is GREAT! Other lunch stuff is so so - to me anyway.
