I'm not a fan of the buffet but if you order from the menu, it's the closest you can get to "authentic" Chinese food in Lafayette.Get out of your comfort zone and stop ordering general tso ,orange chicken , Beijing beef etc.If you want to try you can follow my suggestions , get the (fried pork spare ribs)(Kung Pao cabbage)(Pepper shrimp/fish).

Exceptional tasting entree. Highly recommend. I ordered a meal that included shrimp dish, egg drop soup, roll, cold drink and paid the tip for a total of $20. Reasonably priced. Excellent value.

Sincerely the best Chinese food in lafayette and the surrounding area. The family is trained in culinary arts, has been serving college kids and the rest of us for decades, many dishes -menu especially- are from scratch and the beef egg rolls are their own classic recipe. Delish!!! Hot and sour dumpling soup will knock out any cold AND put a pep in your step!!

I have been coming here for 10 years. Not known for the buffet but some off menu items like Spicy Chicken Dumpling Soup. Spicy beef noodle soup. Chinese Spaghetti. Combination noodle soup. There Beef egg rolls are amazing along with there hot and sour soup. Must try what I mentioned above. You will love it.

Not sure what style of Chinese this is but it was absolutely amazing. Walked in and saw the owner hand cutting chili peppers. She was also our server and very sweet personality. Some of the best Chinese I've had in a while and in such a surprising place. The egg foo yung patties were huge, like omelettes and clearly freshly-made. They were fluffy and puffy, different from the compact, smaller ones I'm used to. Only wasn't a fan of the duck sauce provided, I prefer a thicker brown gravy but I took it home and fixed it up just right. The eggplant was amazing as-is and my dad enjoyed his chicken & veg dish, not sure which one. Very good egg drop, which is always how I gauge a new restaurant.

The husband cooks and the wife serves and is cashier. They are stand in guardians of Chinese students who attend local university. The menu is full of delicious down home country Chinese cuisine. The in house made sides are really important to the wife who's pleasant voice is usually better than the singer on the background music.

Tucked away in the corner of a shopping center, I promise you, you'll miss it if you don't look for it! Service was great, and food was delicious! Cooked fresh to order, try a little bit of everything, you will not be a disappointed! Check @eatinglafayette on Instagram and Facebook for more Lafayette food things!

I’ve got two words … LEMON CHICKEN. The chicken is so crispy and the lemon ginger sauce is so good! Service was great and I loved hearing our waitress softly singing as she worked. Will be back.

Just found this place! Best Chinese in Lafayette and CHEAP. Haven’t tried buffet. Ordered off the menu. All was good and homemade… can tell not simply ordered from distributor. Owner was cutting fresh green beans when we walked in.

This place has been in the same location for over a Two decades...Everytime we go home and we want the absolute "BEST"Egg rolls!" NO one can beat their Eggrolls! We have ordered these for events." SO GOOD! Dine in...Try the Pepper Shrimp- Green onions & Chili peppers! Order from menu only! The place is dated but the owners are the salt of the Earth! Definately a local staple for many!

I've probably been here way too many times to almost call in my dining room now. I love this place. The food is probably one of the best Chinese food I have had. The buffet is pretty standard Noodles, Fried Rice and a lot of good chicken preparations. I personally like the Soups and the Cheese Wantons as well. Off the buffet, the food is amazing as well. I love the chicken and soft tofu. It's my favorite, along with the fried prawns. It's a must visit. I would totally recommend this place to others. It's a lot of good food. The owners are amazing. We always have a good time when we go there. Just two things that I'd want to point out is that this place needs a little bit of an overhaul. Also, I'd like to see a change in the buffet once in a while. Otherwise, all great.

It was a great experience. Good food for a decent price. The owners are good people that are very polite. New favorite place.

How this place hasn't been shut down and could receive rave reviews is beyond me. This place MUST pay for its reviews. My son and I ate there recently and ordered the cashew nut chicken and General Tso. The chicken is obviously fatty canned chicken and smelled awful. The vegetables were mostly peas and carrots. Very little onions and zucchini. We ended up eating just rice with gravy and cashews. The General Tso was obviously fried canned chicken with warm ketchup poured over it! NO peppers or other vegetables. Just broccoli as a garnishment. This was the worst Chinese food experience ever! To top it off the owner/waitress (and I use that term loosely) was on the cell phone the ENTIRE time we were in there and would only stop talking a few seconds to take our order and bring our check. She was hollering on the phone in the booth right behind us. Other patrons were complaining about the loud cell phone usage and unprofessional demeanor of the owner. Needless to say, we will never eat there again and advise anyone who enjoys good Asian cuisine to avoid it at all costs! If I could rate it with NO stars, I would.

Average food. Giving it a low rating because the owner is super paranoid. She made my eating experience a living hell because I ordered from the menu and not the buffet. She kept policing me, watching what I was eating by constantly hovering over my table. When I finished, she asked me if I needed a box. I said yes, and puff, she was gone. So essentially she is just there to police people and provide no customer service. I won't be going there again because of this unpleasant experience.

Pretty average food here. Decent buffet served midday and very nice owners. Service really good. Definitely a place to go to get that quick Chinese fix.

This place is awesome! The owners are so nice and the food is awesome. The selection is not huge but everything on the buffet is fresh and delicious, which is way better than a big selection anyway. The price is about $7 for the buffet for lunch or dinner, pretty reasonable. Cream cheese wontons are the best in lafayette!

Home Town Chinese Food - Authentic & Tasty. Authentic & tasty Chinese food ever! Family own & operate, chef is certified first class head chef back in China. Noodles with ground pork sauce, pepper corn shrimp, tofu with string beans, and five spices baby ribs dishes are the best in class, those dishes are my favors, I just can’t have enough of those. Sometime I will try the vegetables dishes too, never disappointed. You just have to try to believe it. Bring your friends, meet for lunch or dinner, you will love the treasures you have found!!

I just wonder, why u say the food there is delicious??? I have ever eaten there, food is no longer fresh, and is expensive

Best chinese in Lafayette. The hot & sour soup is amazing!! I tried it here & fell in love & now if I ever order it from somewhere else I am disappointed. Also, the cream cheese wontons are the bomb. Other chinese places put that nasty imitation crab in their wontons, but not this place. Love this place & the lady who works there is super nice

Pretty good. The Mister has loved this place forever. It's tiny, so try to avoid rush times. The ambiance is odd, like eating in a family kitchen: if you like this, it's great. We find it fun. Always several young people, eating noodle bowls, speaking what I assume is Chinese. The buffet is small, but everything is good. They were stringing green beans at a table last time we went; I took this as a good sign: the food does seem more fresh than most Chinese buffets. The price can't be beat, at $5.95 for the dinner buffet. The hot and sour soup is really good.

The atmosphere is very friendly, the buffet is amazing . The food is limited on the buffet but everything on it is very very good.

Best Chinese in Lafayette. Don't let the hole-in-the-wall atmosphere fool you. This is owned and operated by a lovely Chinese couple. That fact is reflected in the authenticity of what is served.

Soups are spot on. Egg rolls (especially the beef) are perfect. Good assortment of stir fry dishes with fried rice and noodles.

At $5.95 - you won't find better!
