Great place, got a double hamburger and it was really big and really good. They were very nice and had great customer service, willing to help us since my daughter and I don't eat gluten. Employees were great. Took a little while to get it but the food was fresh so that was alright. Overall, satisfied and good experience.

The staff here was amazing. Very hospitable, very nice, very friendly. Trying to bend over backwards to keep us happy, and we really appreciated it! We had our family reunion here and we were a crowd. They did a fantastic job. The only downside was the canned veggies. Meh. Everything else was awesome and we were so happy to be there.

I won a free plate lunch and had the chicken fried steak plate lunch this Thursday and it was amazing! Portion size was her generous and actually filled me up. The steak it self was really tender and just melted in my mouth. The gravy was a great consistency and those potatoes had to be from scratch because nothing from a box taste that good. Looking forward to trying more of the plate lunches.

Nice, laid-back atmosphere with students studying and business men meeting for lunch. The fried and grilled food was cooked to order, so took a minute for our fried shrimp and catfish, but was worth the wait. Even the cole slaw was great and I'm kinda picky in that area!

In the past I could take or leave this place as it was nothing special and somewhat overpriced. Not bad, but not really memorable. After not going for a few years I went a few days ago. I ordered the foot long Cuban sandwich. It was soooooooo good. Every single aspect of the sandwich was perfect, especially the bread. Just typing this is making me hungry.

Absolutely adore this café! Cashier was super sweet and friendly and made my day which inspired me to write a review. The place is tidy and comfortable. This was my first visit and the food was delicious. Definitely recommend!

The red beans and rice was good and was very fairly priced. I felt like the poboys are a little overpriced, but not by much. They're still really good. I think it's a great place for lunch, especially if you're on SLCC campus.

I enjoyed my visit to Cafe 329. The location is convenient to the campus of SLCC (walking distance) which is great for students like myself who want to get a coffee or a bite to eat before or in between classes. There is plenty of seating both inside and outside, and because the environment is so peaceful it would make a nice place to have a study lunch. Some of the seating by the windows even have a spot to charge your phone or laptop. Another perk for SLCC students, we get a 10% discount with our ID. The service was great and my food was delicious. I ordered the Kicking Shrimp Wrap and onion rings. To my surprise the onion rings were huge and homemade! I think the onion rings alone would have filled me up! I reccomend this restaurant to everyone. It's a local, cozy, clean, and friendly place to eat.

Love the sweet potatoe fries.. tuna wrap is good, sometimes over cooked. But the people are nice and the atmosphere is very conducive to gatherings.

Nice place for lunch and quick breakfast pickup. They have allot of coffee options. Check website before you go. Relaxed casual atmosphere. Inside and outdoor dining options, as well as drive thru.

Being that I was a student at SOLCC and I ate at Cafe 329 often and continue to eat there even after I graduated, I will respond to the previous review by a fellow "student".

Cafe 329 has awesome food. Even for a small cafe they have a real executive chef, not just some cook who's worked their way up. As far as "refills" since you added a drink to your meal you only paid $1.50 (instead of the normal $1.75) for your drink and being a student you got a 10% discount, so you paid $1.40 + tax for 40 OZ OF DRINK, THAT'S OVER A QUART OF LIQUID. WHAT DO YOU WANT FOR $1.40???????????????

Since I eat out regularly, let me help educate you. Most establishments charge upwards of $2.75 + TAX for iced tea or sodas and give you unlimited refills. Cafe 329 does not charge you that much and gives you a 10% discount as well , yet you want the same "unlimited" in return for way less the cost. Just because the building is located "next to a college" no one ever said it was a "college stop".

your words: "People are on budgets and pay a lot for food ( $10 for burger fry and drink)" DO YOU EVER EAT ANYWHERE BESIDES MCDONALD'S, SONIC OR TACO BELL???????????????

04/19/2017 Update, last night I ate at BJ's Brewhouse, I ordered a Bacon cheeseburger, it comes with fries, They charge $11.25 for the burger and fries (5 OZ HAMBURGER PATTY, as they advertise on their menu), Cafe 329 charges $9.30 (7 OZ HAMBURGER PATTY) almost 1.5 times the amount of meat and that price IS WITH FRIES. Correct me if I'm wrong, but $9.30 doesn't seem expensive to me compared to comparable items in the city. Maybe if you ate out more, you'd realize the value of good quality food and what it costs at other places. BTW BJ's also sells a side of fries for $3.75, yup i said it $3.75, - $1.75 for a side of fries at Cafe 329 sure as hell seems like a bargain to me...... Maybe I just payed attention in BASIC MATH CLASS.

Let me help educate you again: IT'S CALLED SHREDDED LETTUCE, ALMOST EVERYONE USES IT ON BURGERS, NO ONE PUTS ROMAINE LETTUCE ON BURGERS. Get out more, eat out more.

According to your review everyone should sell similar items for the same price.

Well why does a BMW cost more than a Volkswagen? they're both vehicles right?
They should be the same price.

I guess the quality of the products or production doesn't matter to you. Well it does matter to the rest of us that eat out regularly. Honestly you seem like one of those "children" that always got a PARTICIPATION AWARD even when you lost.

As far as the manager being "rude", is it that he was rude or you just don't like it when things don't go the way you expect. I bet every time you threw a temper tantrum when you were a child because didn't get you way, your parents bought you a toy. There's a big difference in someone being rude and you just considering people that way, because YOU didn't get your way. You have much disappointment coming to you in life (most things will NOT go your way)

Maybe you should stick to Subway, McDonald's and especially Taco Bell.
Seems these places fit your taste buds more adequately.

ON BEHALF OF MYSELF AND THE COUNTLESS PEOPLE THAT EAT AT CAFE 329 MANY TIMES A WEEK, thanks Cafe for doing a great JOB.

The internet is a wonderful place of knowledge and much misinformation as well. Just because it allows us to critique establishments, food or otherwise, doesn't mean all of us have the "intelligence" to do it properly.

I am sorry that this is lengthy but, I get passionate when "ignorance" shows it's ugly head on the internet.

Manager only gives 1 free refill... only drink size available is a 20 oz... not enough to drink! You can go to any other restaurant in Lafayette and get unlimited free refills! I took it up with the manager and told him that I was drinking tea and it only cost him water and tea bags and why he cant give me anymore to drink... he says that is the rule and you have to pay $1.75 again to get more drink. I will carry my business elsewhere and everyone else should do the same! Food is pricey for a college stop! People are on budgets and pay a lot for food ( $10 for burger fry and drink) and still thirsty when they leave is INHUMANE and shameful! Also note that their salads arent from romain lettuce you will get shredded (straw texture) lettuce that goes on a hamburger for your salad! BEWARE!
Really good food!. I haven't tried anything there that I don't like! The coffee, donuts, kolaches, plate lunches and the poboys are all good! I've been several times and I'll definitely be back! Oh, and yes they have a drive thru! Perfect for days I don't want to get out of my car!

The proximity to SLCC and simplified menu will keep this place in business, but overall, food is underwhelming. I suppose for out of state college kids or a quick lunch 329 will suffice, but on par with cafeteria food. I really wanted to like this place :(

5/10
