Damn. Just go. If you're hesitant, don't be. Food is on another level. Shinto was closed to we went here...did not disappoint. SUSHI WAS BOMB!💣 I ayesha it safe with the Okinawa Roll and was pleasantly surprised. HUGE roll.

Came in with my family. The service was really amazing and accommodating with children (3). The staff was not only really attentive, as well as entertaining. Recommend the squid salad and the dynamite roll.

Great place for casual meet up with friends at any time of the day. Although do not try to come after 9:30pm because the kitchen will be closed. My friends ordered a beef Pho and they brought a huge bowl of soup, which could have easily served for two people. Sides for the pho included bean sprouts, dill, fresh jalapenos, cilantro, and lime. I ordered beef Yakisoba for myself. If you're not a big fan of broccoli, just ask the kitchen staff not to include it in the dish. We also ordered chicken fried rice, which tastes even better with teriyaki sauce. As for the appetizers, each of us got a small bowl of miso soup. I would not recommend this place for deserts though, as every desert option is fried.

Our waitress was amazing and so was the food! I just wished I lived closer so I can come here once a week.

The atmosphere is wonderful and the service is always fast and friendly. The beef bibimbap and a side of cucumber is my favorite entree. On Thursday and Friday for lunch they serve a Korean bento box that comes with miso soup, sides (we had various kimchis) jap chae and your choice of entree (the bulgogi is perfect). The mochi ice cream is amazing, specifically the green tea and red bean. I am obsessed with Osaka!

Good quality sushi. Nice variety of rolls. Nice updated modern interior. Good specials. Check out the other menu options, specialty soups and made in house kimchi.

Delicious food with many different style sushi. We had four different vegan ones and one crab filled salmoN roll with no rice named Dr. Keaty that was flavorful and different than many other sushi restaurants. We also had daikon radish kimchee and mung-beans that had a fresh nut taste t them. Perfect for vegans and vegetarians!

The bento box never disappoints, delicious and good value! And the fried banana with ice cream is delicious?

The sushi is absolutely to die for! Tons of other menu items as well for anyone with different tastes. The sushi chefs take alot of pride making sure everything is A++.

Overall not bad. Definitely not what I am used to from the west coast but for Lafayette it's ok.

Theres 28 sushi joints up n down Johnston, but this place ALWAYS delivers the thick sashimi goodness. Quality! Number one or two for sushi in Lafayette.

I had an order of Pho when I went. It was a lot better than some of the Pho houses here in town. It wasn't heavily greasy. It was just right. The ingredients was very fresh and so was the garnish. The only thing that I didn't enjoy at all was the waitresses attitude. When we began to order I asked the waitress if the Pho was any good, and she immediately answered, "Yes! It's good!" Being very short with me. And my partner told me, "you had it the other day at so and so house, and she interrupts us and says, "if you have already had it then why ask that?" And my boyfriend cut her off and said he ate it someone else, and not here at this restaurant. And tbh, I doubt we will ever return just for the fact she had such attitude when talking with us. Everything else was up to par. Food was great. The sushi chef really didn't speak to us at all. He didn't seem like he was enjoying even being there.

Great place to eat! Loved the cooked sushi options. Nowadays with so much pollution, I don't take the risk of eating raw sushi. Fried rice was awesome, not too many spices, very tasty. The spring rolls are not fried, they use a rice wrap, they were good too. Krista is an excellent server, give her a good tip please!. There's only one thing we did not like at all and actually, they should not be doing that! If you pay with debit or credit card they will charge you and additional fee.

Osaka never disappoints. The new look is very nice. Waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and gave great suggestions. In my opinion they are the best sushi restaurant in town.

I eat here all the time and love it!! If you’ve had real sushi, you would know this place serves some of the best. The fish is ALWAYS fresh. Sushi burritos are bomb as well as the rolls. Their presentation is always on point and service is great. Thank y’all!!

It is no secret that I have been coming here for years. You seriously can't beat the long list of options, the quality, OR the prices! They are also open to variations- I like to get the Crunchy and the Chef Special cut small (8 little circles instead of 5 huge pieces) and I like to add cream cheese in the Tiger and the Firecracker. They never look at my like I'm crazy for asking for extra sauce either! I can't say enough good things about this place- practically my second home!

Catherine and Sonya know more about Sushi than most and bar none, they have some of the best in the entire city! If you're looking for the best in town, look no further and don't bother with 'high-end downtown' only crap - go get the best from Osaka!

I have been eating here since the Le's had the Korean restaurant. I am genuinely spoiled to their food and it is my first choice for sushi or any Asian style cuisine. Love this place!! Great food and great service!!

Osaka. A Korean owned restaurant serves good Japanese food as well as Korean. I ordered Bulgogi and is was very tasty though a bit on the dry side for my pallet. Miso Shiru soup was ok but could use more flavor Misu. Full bar and a good selection of Sake both hot and cold. Large Sushi selection. Server Diana has been here only a week and is very focused on customer attention Ambiance is good and decor pleasant. Asian kitchen staff with non Asian servers <br/>This is a good restaurant for singles, couples and families. Worth the visit.

We've been eating sushi and Korean here for a few years, now. If you're looking for a superb dining experience in Lafayette, order from the Korean menu! The Japchae with tofu is, hands down, one of my top 5 favorite plates in Acadiana. The sushi is always great, as is the service. It is very unassuming, both inside and out, but get yourself to Osaka!

It's a shame that the spicy tuna hand rolls are off the menu now. Tuesday nights always have specials like buy 2 get 1 free. Miso soup is complimentary and good though not homemade. Veggie delight and Gen Ji rolls are good but the most outstanding roll on the menu is the firecracker roll! Spicy tuna hand roll would've been a runner up. Real wasabi available by request. Service is always good. Beers served in icy cold mugs. Great place!

The nerve of the waitress.... I was very disappointed. My husband and I went to eat here last night. My 1 year old was kinda getting antsy after a while, so when the food came we bagged it up to bring home instead of eating there. We met the waitress at the front counter to pay and left a tip in cash on the table. As my husband wrote a 0 through the tip line on the $70 receipt, the waitress assumed we didn't leave one and stated to us "For the future, it is very unethical to not leave a tip! Us waitresses make $2 an" and at that point my husband stopped her. We were both shocked! We told her the tip was on the table. I am VERY disgusted with her actions. All she can do after we corrected her was say "well I am sorry" and not even really sounded meaningful. And then walked away! I called to speak to a manager, since I was so shocked and didn't react there, and I was told they were busy. I am still mad at myself for not walking back to the table and take MY money back! Apparently, she doesn't pay much attention to her customers in the first place!

Sushi is mediocre, Korean dishes are fantastic. Skip the mediocre sushi and get what they do best, which is Korean food. <br/><br/>The place used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Lafayette when it was a Korean only restaurant. Unfortunately, Lafayette didn't take to this cuisine and the place was mostly deserted which was a shame and it eventually closed, and was reopened as a Japanese restaurant. I decided to try it out, and was very disappointed with my sushi experience. On the way to the restroom, I noticed someone eating pho, so I asked my waitress about it since it wasn't on the menu, which is when I found out that it was the same owner of the Korean restaurant (actually two at the time, one from Korea and the other from Vietnam) and they love cooking off menu dishes from their homeland! Upon returning with a few friends, we ordered Korean dishes only and they were absolutely fantastic.<br/><br/>Two thumbs down on the sushi, two thumbs up on the Korean fare.

Great sushi menu, hibachi is good to, our group doesn't go for that community table dinner and a show atmosphere,which they don't have. You order and they bring it to your table. The service is hit or miss here but the food makes up for it, when they get your order right. Brought my wife's family out here for there first time. service was terrible and they got there orders wrong I will never get them to go back now.

This is the slowest and most racist sushi restaurant I have ever been to. The waitress did not know anything about the menu and waited on ALL the Asian people first, even when they came in an hour after us. I look white but My mother is Japanese. We ordered COLD sake (and made it clear twice that we wanted in NOT HOT) and she brought us HOT. Then, when we asked for cold, she asked who was driving. She said, "I just didn't want things to get crazy." That would not be so bad if the sushi was more than mediocre, but I have had better in Columbus, Ohio!! No where near FRESH!!!! If you are obviously Asian, then you might be all right here. If not, you are better off eating at jimmy johns!!!

This is my favorite spot for sushi in Lafayette. The prices are super reasonable. They have buy 3 rolls get the 4th free on certain days! The food is always delicious and fresh. Love it

I didn't go for sushi. I went for the Korean food. The bibimbop, jampong and bulgogi are especially good.

Always my favorite. This place has always been my favorite sushi place in town. Affordable and lots of rolls! It is our preferred date-nite spot. Service is great, sometimes a rotating staff, but everyone is friendly and attentive. Once we went in and saw a new KOREAN MENU!!!!! We tried the Seafood Noodles, the waitress warned us it was spicy. I was excited. :) It was so big we could split the entree!!! (Course we are rather small to average size appetites, we split entrees often.) It was spicy but it was the PERFECT amount of spicy. I could eat it and enjoy and let my nose run too! We drank all the broth to the last drop! We will be returning many times and I hope that we can enjoy the Korean Menu again! <br/>BTW: If you love sashimi and sushi, they have combination plates that are awesome too!<br/>Thanks Osaka!!!! :D

Fatty, flavorless Japanese. This review brought to you by the word "bland." Although my partner and I were both good actors for our company (lucky we were starving), I calmly requested that we pick the place next time we visit. At least this stuff actually passed as food, unlike the previous two attempts.<br/><br/>While everyone else seems to be transfixed by the sushi, it should be noted that precious little of anything else is accomplished with any talent whatsoever. Miso was one step over salt water. The gyoza was horrible, and would not have been worth eating without the sauce. I have had better gyoza/dumplings at cheap Chinese places for half the price. Salad was actually pretty good, but the house dressing, while tasty, was really heavy. No option for a fresh ginger dressing.<br/><br/>Our side of the table ran the gamut for main courses--sushi rolls, combo yakisoba (mine) and beef teryiaki. SO reported sushi as bland and rushed. My noodles were greasy and so flavorless that I had to drown them in soy sauce and pepper to make them edible. Our third's teriyaki was okay, but nothing more than okay. Service was below average, and the paper tablecloths (while I was somewhat amused by our artist friend's drawings) were beyond trashy. Stay away.

This is me and my boyfriends favorite sushi place in Lafayette. Super friendly staff, great atmosphere, and LARGE selection of well priced sushi. My boyfriend and I normally share an app of shrimp fried rice (which is huge) and get 3-4 rolls and eat for $50 with leftovers. Have tried multiple sushi joints around town and will always end up here for now on. You should def try!

Didn't get to eat?. My wife raved about it, close to our house, good prices, good food.... So we went there, We ordered, waited....waited, then the food we ordered was served to another table, the watress offered us their order after she figured it out, they didn;t know they ordered something completely different. We ran out of time, No offer was made to make it up or have us for dinner, I probably will not go back. Samuri or Tsubaki seem to be just fine.

Good enough. Had no problems and the sushi wasn't bad. I will say it's a little on the pricey side for the sushi quality but if you end up in here on a whim you'll leave thinking "that was pretty good, but not the best I've ever had".

Below average sushi. The wasabi was dry and weird. The eggrolls and sauce also left much to be desired. The price is average, not cheap. Better sushi exists out there in Lafayette.

Great Lunch. Found Osaka while searching for sushi on my GPS. What a wonderful surprise. Service was great, a little dark inside but once your eyes adjust all is well. Great place for beginner sushi trying as the menu has a lot of pictures. I had the crunchy roll, it was huge and tasted wonderful. I also had the crazy roll, again it was great. Will def. be going back when I am in the area.

Great place. I recently started eating sushi and went to have dinner at osaka with my sister. The portions for the sushi were huge and delicious. Their cajun roll is AMAZING! Our waitress was very attentive and on top of everything. She knew her menu and was able to help me decide what to get. Would definately recommend!
