On a recent visit to Lafayette a friend told me about Edie's and said I had to try it out. The first day I attempted to dine, the line was out the door, and I needed to get to work. So, I came back earlier the next day. Still a line, but I had a little more time. The "to go" orders were flowing out the doors the entire time I was there. Of course when you got to Edie's it's for the biscuits. I ordered a plate with eggs, ham, smothered potatoes and one biscuit. This is seriously one of the best biscuits you will ever eat. Didn't even need to add butter. Light and fluffy, and a little crispy around the edges. Everything you love about carbs. The rest of the meal was good as well, although there was some type of flavor in the potatoes I didn't care for.
Killer breakfast- worth the wait!
O M G Did you say brisket.... O

Had the works omelette with the smothered potatoes and my tastebuds are still dancing. This place is a must do.
Best thing I've ever put in my mouth.

They spend a lot of effort making the food tasty, but not so much making the place clean.
Chicken, egg & cheese biscuit or sausage and gravy!! My experience with the staff was everything one would expect from a southern family, treating you with kindness and friendship!
Pretty good. I never thought I would say good things about a biscuit but damn, it was good!
I could tell the scrambled eggs were from one of those pre-scrambled vats though, so maybe next time i'll just get fried eggs. Also the potatoes were nothing to write home about, neither was the service, but the price was ok.
Would go back again for a quick, decent affordable meal.
AKA Fast Edie's?. Mon-Fri 5:30AM-2PM, Sat & Sun Closed. Had "The Works" Omelet for $6 - good flavor, would've ordered it without jalepenos if I'd known I'd be spitting out stems every bite. Very good, diced hash browns. Famous locally for their breakfast biscuits, plus they sell for just $2. Friendly and courteous staff - after the cook brought out my order, he went out of his way and brought over utensils.
My family and I were traveling through Lafayette on our way back home to Oklahoma and I wanted to start our day with a good breakfast. Well I googled "best breakfast in lafayette la" and Eddie's Express showed up as a selection. So we rolled the dice and I am glad we did. The food and services truly reflected southern hospitality! My husband and daughter had eggs over easy which were cooked perfectly. I had the oatmeal which blew Starbucks oatmeal out of the water. Needless to say we started our day on the right track with Eddie's.
Best breakfast in Lafayette. My family has been eating at Edie's for over 15 years. Great biscuits, great atmosphere, and the most friendly staff in town.
The biscuits with any combination of meat, cheese, or egg are fantastic. From the specialties, like pork roast biscuits or chicken biscuits, to the plain butter biscuits everything is home cookin good.
Mmmm...biscuits. Edie's biscuits are just about the best thing you can eat in the morning. The blueberry biscuits are packed with blueberries and are just heavenly. The honey and cinnamon biscuits are equally wonderful. Edie's has started to offer other breakfast offerings but so far I am sticking with the perfection of their biscuits. Getting in and out can be a pain because of the location but don't let that stop you, the biscuits are too good to miss.
Get the biscuits but skip the omelet.. Edies… a staple at office breakfast meetings. Their biscuits with meat, egg, and cheese (or just meat if your prefer) are tasty and a great stand by at my office. The biscuits are a good value at $2.00 and I recommend them. However this morning I decided to get something different. I tried their Fully Loaded Omelet that contained bacon, sausage, ham, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, and jalapenos and came with a biscuit for $6.00. I ordered mine to go without jalapenos and added milk for a total of $7.00 (kind of pricey in my opinion.) The omelet was not exciting first the mushrooms were canned and not fresh, and apparently today they felt like substituting chicken for bacon which was unfortunate. Then after wondering why it had a southwest flavor I realized that the "tomatoes" that they used were actually SALSA! I am unsure if this has to do with the kitchen or the person who wrote on the chalkboard but tomatoes and salsa are not interchangeable. Overall this omelet was disappointing and expensive. I would not recommend it stick to the biscuits.
Best place in Lafayette! Killer biscuits, killy fried chicken, dipping sauce is on point and the bargain price can't be beat. I'd go every single day if I could!
I was in town for work and this place was within walking distance of my hotel. I ordered the works omelet with smothered potatoes and it also came with a biscuit. It was delicious! The omelet was tender and perfectly cooked with fresh ingredients. The biscuit was so flavorful and fell apart it was so tender. It was a busy place and the staff was fast, efficient and very friendly. With the price of eggs being what they are right now I was surprised at how affordable this place was. I will be returning while I am here!
Everyone there was amazing, super kind, polite, and the owner was more than accommodating. Southern Hospitality at it's finest! And the food! OMG!!! The best honey biscuits, blueberry biscuits , and omelettes! Everything was amazing! Best breakfast restaurant I have ever been to

Great hole in the wall restaurant. Biscuits were good and I personally don't like biscuits. Food was super quick. 0 issues. Would gladly go again. Service was nice and friendly. The style is very rustic but still clean.
Okay so the reviews aren’t lying. These biscuits are earth shattering. This place is like 6 or 7 stars. Love the vibe, nice friendly staff, lots of locals, and the food was crazy good. Among my absolute elite breakfast experiences. Louisiana doesn’t mess around with their biscuits apparently. I should’ve assumed, but wow really this was great.
Best biscuits ever! Works omelet with smothered potatoes was fantastic. So glad we got off the highway and found us a real hometown cooking restaurant.
Located at what has to be the worst intersection in the entire city of Lafayette, Edie’s is a local landmark. Don’t be intimated when you see lines out the door. These guys know how to get your food out quickly and with a smile. The biscuits are heaven on earth. Big, fluffy and flavorful. Nothing out there like Edie’s.
EXCELLENT breakfast spot, highly recommend! We ate there and folks kept pouring in the entire time we were there. The staff was very friendly and the service was fast. The prices were really good and the portions were surprisingly large for the price! I definitely recommend this place!
The best biscuits in town! The owner is such an amazing person that puts all of his customers first and makes it important to make everyone feel special! The staff is also super friendly! You feel like family the moment you step through the door!
Delicious biscuits. Super reasonable prices. Definitely order a cinnamon biscuit as well as a CEC (chicken-egg-cheese) biscuit too. So good I am coming back tomorrow to pick some up for the wife and kiddos. Parking can be tight and limited, but patience pays here. Thank you for a great breakfast!
Delicious home cooked breakfast affordably prices & always hot and fresh.
This is my go to morning spot every morning after the night shift! Amazing food. Fast service. They remembered my order quickly. Get the pork roast and potatoes you won't regret it

Cute breakfast place, really busy morning rush. If you like that kind of atmosphere, you will appreciate this place. The biscuits I will rate it a 6 out of 10. Very decent hash brown as well . Friendly service.
Great local establishment serving breakfast, including Edie’s famous biscuits. We absolutely love coming here! The staff is always friendly and you really get that hometown vibe from the restaurant.
FREAKING AWESOME! Blueberry biscuits with grits is my go to..My mom got the Honey Biscuit and a Apple Walnut Kolache all sweet and excellent. The biscuits are moist and perfect. Service is quick and friendly. Support Local !
One of the staples of Lafayette with a great breakfast! I’ve been going there for years and have yet to have a bad experience! Some of the best fried catfish and blueberry biscuits you will find!
Discovered this unique restaurant today and ... WOW! The blueberry biscuit is SLAMMING! HUGE too! Sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit was enough for 2. The service was great. Will be returning soon.
Best biscuits in Lafayette, guarantee!! Homemade biscuits to die for!! You must also try the blueberry biscuits, they are a game-changer!
