Review Rusted Rooster On St. Landry - Lafayette

The service here is VERY friendly and the food delicious. They were out of gravy and grits as we arrived for a late breakfast. The biscuit with praline syrup and bananas is to die for - I cannot recommend this item enough! The diner is small and not much to look at on the outside- so don’t let that fool you! Also this is located close to the interstate and easy to get in/out.

This place has a wonderful atmosphere and amazing food. I came in and was immediately greeted and sat where i liked. Afterwards my order was taken and food served in under 10 minutes. The food came out looking amazing and tasting just as good. Chicken was moist, the buns were crisp, and the toppings all fresh. The fries were hot and crisp as well. 9/10 would have had the full 10 if the drink selection was a little broader.

Stopped here for breakfast on my drive from Austin to Tallahassee. Well worth the stop! The food is Ah-mazing and Donna did the work of 3 servers during a breakfast rush. Everyone checked on me including the kitchen staff, who are, I believe, the owners. This place is awesome, check it out! 😊

Their biscuits are incredible. After trying it for the first time I came back just a few days later. Great prices, for really good food.

I visited during lunch hour which was packed. I had a delicious apple and cheese sandwich with a side salad topped with an asian vinaigrette. Food was phenomenal but the service was subpar. The waitresses were not friendly so that's why they lost one star

I just love this place- the food is fantastic and inexpensive- staff and owners are friendly- I came here 8 years ago and they are still top notch - highly recommended

Found by searching for restaurants near me while driving around Lafayette. Stopped in for lunch. Very quaint little place with just enough tables to be effective yet cozy. Great wait staff, great lunchtime fare (I had a grilled chicken sandwich) and good food. Definitely will come back again.

The FREAKING pancakes were FREAKING DELICIOUS. A little disappointed I didn't see any rusted roosters running around, but still a great place. We love coming here on the weekends for FREAKING PANCAKES! Keep up the great work Cheryl!

My favorite place to eat while visiting Lafayette!

The Coullion, a biscuit topped with fried chicken fingers and a praline sauce, was so good!

Our server, Darby, was lovely! She gave a lot of great suggestions for food items. The restaurant is very small but the table turnover is pretty fast. So--if you're trying to sit and have a leisurely breakfast, this wasn't the place on the Saturday we visited. However, we did not have a wait and we never felt rushed. The food is delicious! If you're not accustomed to runny middles in your fried eggs, be sure to say that when ordering.

Great little ... and rustic place! If you're looking for stylish decor this would not be for you, but if you're looking for really great food then by all means try this little restaurant! My salad with grilled chicken was perfection and my husband said his turkey, granny apple, cheese sandwich was excellent! We each also had fresh fruit which was a very nice assortment. We will definitely be back again!

The food is delicious, and the service is stellar. The outside of the building is modest and easy to miss, but look out for the quirky rooster sculpture on the roof and you'll be glad you did. It's a pretty small place with a home-y feel, and our food came out super fast. The waitress, whose name escapes me, was friendly, funny, and on her A-game (and she said it was only her second shift there!) Their "rooster sauce" pairs delightfully with their exquisitely crafted sandwiches, stuffed with fresh ingredients. I'm so glad we stopped here for lunch on our way through Lafayette, and will definitely go again when I get the chance!

Food is excellent. One of the best breakfast places to eat in Lafayette. Small dining area but adds to the atmosphere of the place. Service is always friendly and food is always presented well and quick. Dining area is always clean. I would put this place in Coach Whitt's top 10 places to have breakfast in Lafayette.

Had doubts about this place when we arrived. It looked like a hole in the wall but the food was cooked well with alot of flavor. One of the waitresses was very bubbly and sincerely nice. The other was not. Towards the end of our time there she was able to force a smile. Unsure if she was just not a happy person or if she wasn't happy to serve us. Other than that the food is worth it.

Great spot for breakfast or lunch. The grits are the best I've ever had. And not sure what they do to the coffee, but it's so good! For lunch, the Katsopolis (add grilled chicken breast) is my favorite sandwich. Despite small kitchen space, the guys really move quickly and get orders out very efficiently. Waitresses are always very friendly. Lots of regulars every time we go, so obviously the staff makes their customers feel like family.

Great breakfast and! Everything is made to order and very fresh. Definitely a regular here. Unfortunately they are no longer open for lunch. Just thought I'd update my review.
