One od the best Chinese places I've ever eaten at!. The service was great! not too intrusive but not too absent and very kind and friendly. not to mention the food was amazing! you could hear them chopping everything fresh in the back and you could definitely taste it! if you haven't been here you've got to try it!
Food has some different spices but over all good. Service was very friendly.

This could possibly be the best sesame chicken I've ever had. The other dishes were excellent as well. The server was very friendly and attentive. Dont sleep on this one. Get in there and try it out.
Soul of China in La Quinta is an absolute Gem! We must say that the authentic taste of their Chinese cuisine is simply exceptional. The menu is diverse, offering a wide range of options to choose from. We got a few different dishes that we normally like to order (Beef Broccoli, Garlic Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Kung Pao Chicken, Combo Fried Rice, Shrimp Lo Mein, and General Tso Chicken). The portions are considered quite generous with the current inflation, great value for the money.
The interior seemed to have a warm, quiet, and cozy atmosphere when we were there and the lady server was extremely nice and friendly.

The COVID pandemic has not been kind to this location. Their small footprint makes for a packed in location, so social distancing is tough.
Even waiting for takeout is a chore. No patio, so that is not an option. This is a little storefront restaurant, buried in a shopping center that is just about dead, that offers really good food at a really reasonable price. It is small, maybe 20 or so tables, but the staff is always friendly and attentive, and overall the experience out strips the location. You can almost always get a table, they do a great deal of their business in take-out.
We love their Lo Mein, and it can be had for less than $10. Recently took some friends their and we all had something different and all were happy with their meal. A real treat is the Honey Walnut Shrimp. A hearty serving of shrimp in a rich honey and mustard sauce with just enough sweet and just enough bite to satisfy.
It's small and it's friendly, and the food is good. No mixed drinks, the wine and beer offering are limited.
Located in the center with the Old Town La Quinta Starbucks across from City Hall.
All of their food is seriously delish! My go to is the orange beef, I crave it!! Definitely recommend eating at Soul of China!
Food was excellent we had a party of 8 and everyone was satisfied.
Located in Old Town what's best about this place is the people that work there they always have younger people most likely there first job and I think that's great the other workers make to feel like they own the location they really do w great job and the food the food is awesome, better than palm tree for sure.
Outstanding service and atmosphere. Food was very tasty. Great lunch specials. Generous portions. Friendly Mom and Pop business. Recommend to all who like fresh home made food. Great menu and variety of food options.

Some of the items could've used more seasoning but I like salt so... Your mileage may vary.
That's just nitpicking though, because the food is always good from here. Personally, there are other Chinese spots that I enjoy a little more but Soul of China is just right here in the cove, so it's hard to justify driving anywhere else.

Love this place. Sure. They have an occasional 'off' night but even the 'off' night is good. Tonight was the norm and it was excellent. The Sesame chicken was just like desert. Sweet and tangy. We love the Garlic sauce and had it with both chicken and Fish Fillets. Very good. We've been enjoying their place for over 14 years. We have tried other places which are also good, but we keep coming back here.
Food was delicious very flavorful and waitress was really kind I could have used more portion of the food the little rice scoop was pretty small other than that it was great
Just ate here last week. The menu has a lot of variety. They offer a la carte (very reasonable prices) and family meals. The family meal was a bit pricey but what we ordered for 3 of us fed us for 2 meals. My 10 yr old loved that they had orange chicken.
The atmosphere was very comfortable, small eat in area but it was spaced out very well. The service was great, the waitresses were very nice and checked in with us a good amount of times to make sure we were taken care of.
The food itself was flavorful with lots of vegetables and not greasy like some places. The family meal has a variety of meat options and all of it was cooked tender and was a good amount in the dish (not too noodle or rice heavy).
It really was one of the best Chinese food places we've been able to find in the CV. We will definitely go back often!
Stopped in for lunch with my daughter. Thought food was excellent. We did Orange chicken and Lo mein. Lunch specials ran around $10. Staff was friendly and service was excellent….

My husband and I always look forward to enjoying a great dinner at Soul of China in La Quinta. I love the fresh traditional menu choices, the great soups, the fact that they don’t add additional MSG to the dishes and the cheery employees. I love the charming and intimate table settings and I hope they never feel the need to modernize and change such a cute restaurant. Places like this are hard to find and the food is fantastic! Thank you.
