Cotija Taco Shop

That tiny hidden Mexican taco shop seems like a regular Mexican food place at first, however in terms of food it is sooo much better then any other taco shop I have visited so far . Unlike other taco shops it has a HUGE variety of different options on all tastes and preferences ..... all of them are tasty and flavorful. Only at this place you'll find pollo adobado (marinated in red sauce chicken) meet. Only at this place you'll find a bunch of different "themed" burritos - california burrito (the one with french fries inside), San Diego burrito, Jara burrito, PB Surf and Turf burrito (it is as HUGE as tasty, very few people can finish it), etc. The shrimp burritos are yummy.... I've never tried anything like that in other taco shops..... Also surf and turf quesadilla is sooo good....... you'll keep thinking about it for a long time.... Their red salsa has a very unique flavor you would not be able to experience anywhere else..... Every time I visit San Diego - I always have a lunch there..... That is really a hidden gem .....

Consider the following: My wife and I have been coming here for the past decade. I bring everyone that comes to visit me here to demonstrate San Diego Mexican food. I brought my brother here once, and he recently asked me to bring him a burrito from this shop. He lives 500 miles away. The quality of the food is beyond reproach, and has been for 10 years. I recommend the surf and turf burritos, the surf and turf fries, the shrimp tacos, and everything else on the menu. When you go in, grab a cup of the water out of the jug to the left. Its amazing.

$4.99 breakfast burritos from 8 am - 11 am every day? Sign me up. Service was fast and friendly. But seriously? You’re here for said breakfast burritos. I got the Grande, double-wrapped which was neither grande nor double wrapped. My compadres bought the steak & bacon breakfast burrito, which looked mighty fine. So, tomorrow (yeah, I’m going back) that’ll be my choice. Sauces were good, too.

I have been 3 times since moving to be PB (1 Month total). This place is great and the staff are friendly, honest, and accomedating. Food is clean, tasty, and well prepared for an awesome price. Parking is a challenge, but since when is parking not a challenge in Pacific Beach? Ha ha 1st Time: Fish Burrito 2nd Time: California Burrito 3rd Time: Brrakfast Burrito I know these are a lot of burritos but I can assure if these are awesome then their various platos are awesome, too
