Inexpensive and quick. We had 2 bagels. Parmesan with plain cream cheese. And cinnamon raisin with strawberry cream cheese. I didn't like them quite as much as Einstein Bagels but not bad. We had to get our food to go because the place smelled like something was burning.
Better ambiance than the places nearby. I got the avocado sandwich for around $10. Different than what it said on the menu but still tasty.
Love this place so much!! Their breakfast sandwiches are super delicious. The staff is so friendly and super fast!!!! Also it’s just easy that it’s next to a grocery store so there’s always parking.
A lovely local mom-n-pop establishment not far from La Jolla Village Square and UCSD. They’ve been around for a long time. I had a friend who worked here for 2-3 years during high school.
Their breakfast and lunch bagel sandwiches are super good. Fresh ingredients, great bagels, and nice flavor profiles. I love the sausage, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel — it’s like a far better version of a McMuffin.
The staff is super friendly and easygoing. For a small shop they have a fairly extensive menu and you can find pretty good coffee here too. Definitely stop by and give it a try.
Love this place! The staff members are amazing and really caring + fast!! I went here twice in the same week and each time has been an amazing experience. The man who made my two sandwiches was very fast and on point. I got a ham, egg cheese croissant, and a bacon, sausage, egg cheese on an everything bagel. These sandwiches were made literally as I turned my back to wait as I paid! I was extremely impressed. Also the Coconut iced latte was out of this world, and the best Latte I have had in San Diego by far… not overly sugary, and tasted very real. Extremely impressed with my 10am Wednesday morning service. I give them 10/10! They deserve great tips.
The bagels are really beautiful and they really lay on the toppings. The size is great, the toastability is great. I don’t know if it was just my batch or what but the dough is in DESPERATE need of salt. The coatings for garlic, onion, sesame and everything are thick but also need salt. This may be what some other people are mentioning as the variability in quality. Without salt, things are going to taste bland even if they’re loaded with toppings
Edit: as I’m eating these bagels, some clearly have a proper amount of salt and some do not. To the business owners, I would suggest auditing each person who makes your dough and making sure they are not confusing or missing salt measurements. The bagels are great when they’re done properly
Vietnamese coffee was great. Maybe on the sweet side, but good flavor - almost like chocolate. Bagels were very decent/good. Service was very friendly. $5 credit card minimum.
Hands down best Vietnamese coffee I’ve ever had. Also amazing service and great bagels. Would definitely recommend
Good lox bagel. Not a lot of cream cheese but that's the way I like it!!
Great place to support a local bagel shop. I’ve been going here for 10 years and it is my favorite spot. Egg and cheese croissant or bagel is amazing, so is the vegetarian bagel sandwich for a fresh yummy meal. The fresh squeeze orange juice is also delicious. Definitely stop by here for a nice little cafe feel in your local neighborhood. Get bagel sandwiches to go or enjoy hanging out in the cute place with teacup wall paper. There is also outdoor seating for a nice sunny afternoon!
As a native New Yorker, I know my bagels and I know my breakfast sandwiches. This place is great. Nothing in California is Essa Bagel, but this place is so much better than any of the chains. Real upstate New York bagel deli type of feel!
