Glad we found this place while in San Diego. It is a bit pricey, but for a one time stop for dessert, very good.
We had nine items including the cinnamon roll, maple bacon fritter, and a couple specialty donuts (Reese’s peanut butter cup, gummy bear, and maple bacon stick). All were very good, but the apple fritter and old fashioned blueberry were superb.
Worth the trip.

Had a donut craving and they were on my route. Along with the tried and true styles like the giant cinnamon roll I bought, they have some innovative types like ones with purple taro frosting and s’mores. I took a chance in their cold coffee with cream and sugar and that plus my roll were a hit. They are friendly and reasonably priced, give them a try!

I have been coming to Donut St🌟t for years. Absolutely The BEST Donuts in San Diego. Trust Me On this one. You’ll never be disappointed here. I’ve drove more miles than you think for my favorite and always Fresh Donuts! I always enjoy quality and have no problem doing what it takes. The Donut Star is a cute little spot. They have their own private parking lot and a couple of tables inside. They offer donuts, breakfast, sandwiches, coffee and more. They have a variety of different flavored donuts. There’s something for everyone!
The price is not bad, I think it’s the standard price for donuts. The older man that works at the front was really nice and quite talkative. When I walked in it was as if I’ve known him for a long time! Very cool.
The donuts tasted so fresh! Soft and moist you can easily eat two or three of them. Of course my go to flavor is always chocolate or maple but you can’t go wrong with a old fashioned donut! I also had one of their taro coconut donut, those two go together well. Loved it. You might ask di I try them all? Oh yes, I’m not afraid to try ‘em all!
Can’t wait til the Next time I come to San Diego! This sure will be one of my stops!!!

This was my first time at Donut Star and I had a good experience. You can see the donuts we got in the picture. I feel like the service was pretty good. The donuts tasted fresh. There was a large variety of donuts to choose from which is always a plus. The chocolate bar was bland tasting, there needed to be more frosting and flavor. My wife also mentioned how she would have liked more icing on the glaze donut, but to me it was fine. My favorite was probably the Oreo one. It was delicious. If you want a wide variety of fresh tasting donuts definitely come here.

We’ve wanted to try this place for several months and finally just did. At 6pm, the donuts were as fresh as if it was 6am. The glaze donut melts in your mouth. The maple bacon was fantastic! The fruity cereal donut was amazing! There are so many more kinds we want to try and will definitely be back!

Have been here a few times before and then tried several other donut joints in the area. Product availability is always a hit or miss at other places. But everytime I've been into this place the case is always full and donuts fresh. Employee's are quick and polite . Not a bad experience yet, definitely my go to place from now on.

Huge selection of donuts and their bodega-style breakfast sandwiches (croissant ham, egg, cheese) are great as well! Definitely coming back. Wonderful people own this place, too, so go support a small business.

I've walked by this place many times. Finally, we decided to stop in and treat ourselves to a donut and coffee. The service was very welcoming, and they have a good variety of donuts, including some inspired by Girl Scout cookies. I got my favorite - a Bavarian - and my friend got a cinnamon sugar. Both were delicious! And the coffee was fresh-brewed. Apparently, this has been a donut shop for more than 40 years, so I always like supporting local businesses over the chains.

It was our last day in San Diego and we wanted to stop by a local donut shop for breakfast and sweets. Im very glad we stopped here. She was very friendly and super sweet! She even gave us some extra donuts for our trip home once she realized we were flying out today. The donuts, breakfast sandwiches, and Vietnamese iced coffee were all delish ❤️

Hands down, one of the best donut places are the San Diego area. It was hard to only pick a few, they all looked so delicious! I picked the Oreo donut and the banana Nutella donut and OMG....so amazing and fluffy. The Nutella donut was filled with banana and Nutella, yet wasn’t overwhelming or heavy. Both donuts were so airy and fluffy! Definitely recommended

They have the best donut holes. We buy 5 dozen every Sunday to take to church. They usually have them packed and ready to go when we get there.
