Taco's El Gordo - La Jolla - Photo album

This is a great taco shop, some might say the greatest in SD area. The absolute best thing to eat here imo is the adobada taco. Other stuff I have tried, but it wasn’t memorable. Service is super speedy, and this location has drive through as well. Parking is available.
I got multiple recommendations for this place and it did not disappoint. It was so good I missed pictures of all my tacos! I caught up with one left. Definitely highly recommended!
Five stars for the Adobada tacos! The ordering process is confusing and hilariously inefficient, especially for a non-Spanish speaker. I had a sweet guy offer to be my translator and guide me through the process. Adobada is basically al pastor with a spicy sauce, he said. The guy working there said
I'm told of all the Tacos El Gordo locations, this is the best one! We weren't disappointed and if I ever found myself in the area, I'd stop. It's a bit chaotic inside to order and get your food and then pay but it's worth it.
best tacos I’ve ever had! I ordered beef and beef tongue. Menu is in Spanish. We don’t speak Spanish so we just tell them we want beef and beef tongue lol
Long line on Friday night, but it's worth the wait. Where to line up can be a bit confusing. But it turned out you can order all the tacos from the adobada line. We ordered taco de adobada, taco de asada, taco de lingua, and taco de buche. Their taco de adobada was really delicious. Taco de buche w
Amazing experience and wonderful food! Everything was delicious and the style of serving was very unique. We enjoyed our time there and liked the food. The tacos were all great and their pork tacos are the best. Their fries is also amazing. They have drive true and also outside seating available. De
Delicious authentic street tacos! Easy to order at the drive thru. Didn't take too long. Very good service.
Thanksgiving Day for lunch was super busy. The service was fast and the food was great! We got the pork and beef tacos and tostados. We had the steak fries as well. Everything was fresh and delicious. Definitely some of the best tacos I have ever had.
There's a reason this place is so busy you can't find a parking spot. The food is bomb. I drove out from El Cajon to eat there on a Friday night. It was completely packed with people. But it was worth it.
The food is always good here. People get upset over the ordering style. Just find the cut of meat or style of food you want and stand in that line. Adobada is some of the best I've ever had. Their French fry dishes are awesome.
Tacos El Gordo is the most authentic taco experience I have ever had! Everything is prepared fresh in front of you. The prices are decent and everybody is helpful and friendly. Highly recommended!
The tacos here are AMAZING!! A MUST if you’re in San Diego. I love the cabeza and asada tacos! The crispy tripas were good but the adobada was a bit too oily for me. I loved that their limes were so juicy and the way they cut them made it easy to squeeze. The sauces and condiments were really good a
Place is usually extremely packed but well worth the wait for the delectable tacos that will tantalize and titillate your taste buds. I highly recommend the adobada mulas and half/half adobada/carne asada fries. 5/5 perfect food for a movie night, out on the town or after clubbing!
This place has an open air atmosphere with Tijuana taco shop vibes. With three lines to order different things, fresh food made to order, and indoor and outdoor seating. The food is phenomenal. You can really tell it's made fresh. The prices are mid, but they are worth every dollar when you conside
By far the best tacos I've tasted in San Diego. I've gone to a couple locations and they are all excellent. The lengua tacos are delicious! Make sure you get some cebollitas y chiles salteados too! The staff is awesome too. Friendly and efficient.
