Review Bj's Restaurant & Brewhouse - La Jolla

We ate here on Black Friday. While the mall was packed and this place appeared quite busy, we were promptly seated. Service was friendly and our food arrived reasonably quickly. I had the Prime Rib Dip which was excellent. My son had a spicy chicken sandwich which he enjoyed. My wife had the Mediterranean Chicken Tacos which she really enjoyed (particularly the accompanying side dish). I also had a special Pomegranate Margarita which was okay. My wife had the Lavender Lemonade which was only average. My son had a German White beer which he reported as excellent. Prices were moderate but seemed fair. We would definitely eat here again.

If this wasn't a chain I'd only give it 4 stars, because honestly the food is pretty boring, but it's a chain. Chain restaurants are about consistency, and the food is consistently ok. The big things I liked about this place was the huge tap list, the service, and the dog friendly patio. For a while now, we've driven by at odd hours and seen that the patio always seems packed, and that was the case even when we left at 9pm on a Wednesday. If you want a chill place to grab some beers, and have some food that you're already familiar with, this is definitely your place. We will certainly be back here whenever we want a relaxed date.

Oure Waitress was amazing all around. Wait time for food was normal. Had a 20 minute wait for a group of 4 on a Friday evening, not bad at all. Food was delicious, definitely recommend. Tab was $220 for 4 people.

Excellent service! We enjoyed a light dinner of salads and a small pizza. The salads were fresh and crisp. The other items were served piping hot. The clam chowder was thick and hearty, filled with clams and potatoes. The bowl was much larger than I thought it would be. The salad portions were also big. They were served nice and cold with fresh ingredients. A perfect amount of dressing accompanied the salads. The small pizza was just the right size for one person. It was stacked with ingredients and was very flavorful.

Exceptional service!! Frank and his team did amazing for our work luncheon. We will definitely come back to this location specifically. Thank you all so much!

Had our holiday group party and they were GREAT!! The food was ready as scheduled, refills were plentiful, staff were so helpful and friendly and we had a great time!! We were in the patio with great weather, great atmosphere, and great company. HIGHLY recommend for holiday gathering or just a Wednesday happy hour. Frank, Jarvis, David….THANK YOU!!!

The food was good and the outdoor seating space is cool! Our waitress was very friendly and nice. The service was good, too! We enjoyed our dinner and we liked the Margarita Flight, and not so many places offer this sampler! The bone-in wings is so good, especially if you like your wings crunchy!

Darin K was our server and was great with both the young kids and hard-of-hearing in our large group. Food was served hot and quickly. Environment was warm and full but we could still hear each other. Great all-around experience

Great meal! Food came quickly and it was tasty. Paige was our server tonight and she was really great. She made sure that we got exactly what we wanted and provided and excellent experience. I was a server for a long time and she is top tier. This was our first time out of the NICU at UCSD after delivering our baby early and she had no idea she made our night. Thanks BJ’s! Thanks Paige!

Great happy hour, good service, lots of screens for sports, and a good selection of apps and beer; craft soda is great too. Food quality is pretty bog standard for chain places with huge menus. But if you come here with your expectations set the experience is good and their desserts are great!

Paige was incredible with her excellent service and attention to detail. Food came out wildly quick and Paige was there every step of the way. 5/5 service. I will request her personal service next time I’m in.

Paige was our server. It was my Moms 67th birthday and it was a huge groups. Paige was excellent in being attentive and getting all of our orders out promptly. She had a great attitude and also gave great suggestions on what to order. My Ribye steaks came out perfectly. Thank you!!

Pretty good experience, only two small issues. Water took a long time and appetizer came out with main dish. Defeats purpose of appetizers and makes me want return it even though i never do.

We came to BJ's on Pazookie Tuesday which is $4 Pazookie night. We did not know about this and thought it wouldn’t be busy at all. We got there around 8:30 pm and it was packed. It continued to be packed, even up to 10 pm and later which was wild! The staff did an amazing job with the demand. We waited about 15 minutes and luckily a large table outside opened up (we were a group of 10). The staff was efficient in bussing the table and having it ready for us. My girlfriend and I ordered the Bistro Burger (had Applewood Smoked Bacon, Goat Cheese Crumbles, Caramelized Onions, Tomatoes, Spinach, Picked Red Onions and Roasted Garlic Aioli) and the Enlightened Cherry Chipotle Glazed Salmon (Roasted Asparagus, Roasted Red Pepper, Tomato and Spinach Couscous). I wanted to get a pint of BJ's Oktoberfest beer but it was out as well as the Nit Wit. Ultimately I ended up with the BJ's Brewhouse Blonde. Both of the entrees were great but I enjoyed the Bistro Burger the most. After we ordered 2 Pazookie's which were $4 each. We got the Strawberry Shortcake Pizookie and the Monkey Bread Pizookie. Both were amazing and different in their own ways so I don't have a favorite.

Sam was our sever tonight he did a wonderful job he was pleasant and fast, wasn’t overly or underly attendant just the right amount. All the food and drinks were brought in a timely manner. I was indecisive on which salmon to get (BJs offers 2) and he recommended the cherry one right away. I loved it the cherry glazed salmon gives you a good mixture of sweet and savory along with the quinoa and veggies. Was not too sweet at all although if your preference is more savory I would recommend the other salmon. Me and my date ended the night with a triple chocolate pazokki hit the spot. 👌
