Super yummy, we got the roasted chicken with rice, chile relleno, apple Danish and everything was delicious. Super moist chicken and flavorful, just the right size of relleno, Danish was perfect and not too sweet.
Girard’s is a true classic spot. I don’t like going to La Jolla, but I will if it includes lunch from here. Everything behind the glass is good including there awesome cookies. The sandwiches are always fresh and made with care. The soups are fantastic. Service is great.
I’ve been coming here for years. It is a La Jolla staple and a solid bakery compared to all the new hipster joints popping up downtown. I’d stick with the baked goods, breads, and quiche. Kids love the creative cookies in the window. Always a decent sandwich. I’d give it 5 stars but the chicken pot

Visited this week from Texas. The Belgian pastries were phenomenal!!! They also have hot food and sandwiches. I asked to sample the lamb stew and it was the most savory & tender stew I've ever had. I'll be back!!!
This place is amazing. We stopped by on a whim after an errand, and are so happy we did! After sampling the curry chicken, we decided to go with the beef burgundy and brown rice. Best bakery around. Try their ginger pound cake 👌🏼quite delicious, definite but not overpowering ginger flavor. Their Mandarin orange muffins are delicious too.
