Parking in this area was a real pain but the experience at Nickson's was great! We had sticky buns, brisket grilled cheese, brisket tacos, and smoked Mac and cheese. All the food was very good and the Republic Old Fashioned was spot on for my preference. Our server (I believe her name was Danielle?) provided great service and we didn't wait long for our food despite it being a packed house.
This was almost a horrible experience. Service started out pretty bad, after a pretty long wait without even a drink order I finally flagged down the next server who walked past and asked them to find out whoever our server was supposed to be and send them over. There may have been a moment of hesitation on his part, but then he immediately took out a notepad and said he would take of us. The fact that this one server decided to solve the problem on the spot instead of running off to find the person at fault is extraordinary. Knowing that one random server will react like that makes me think that the previous lack of service was a fluke; a miscommunication. It happens, and your staff recovered remarkably.
The food was fantastic, the Crispy Pig is especially outstanding, everything was spot on. But we probably wouldn't have stuck around to find that out if the one server hadn't stepped up in the manner that he did. Great job.
Excellent service, first off. The food was delish! The absolute best sweet potato fries OAT! Impressive list of wine and spirits as well!
Loved! Went to Nicksons for dinner and it exceeded all of my expectations! You must try the fried green tomatoes! I actually couldn't decide on an entree,everything sounded so good. We decided to get a flatbread and the fish tacos of the day! Delish!

I rarely walkout of a new restaurant feeling fully satisfied, good food, good drinks, good service, this place is warm and friendly and the food and drinks were great and absolutely worth the reasonable price. I cannot wait to go back! Maybe tomorrow??

My 1st time here on 7/11/2015. And I was impressed. Wonderful atmosphere and decor was adorable. And I had the Elk Burger. Delish beyond my expectations. The staff was great. I will recommend to others, and can not wait to come back ans enjoy more delicious food. Glad I ate here.

They deserve more than 5 stars!!! Absolutely outstanding food, service and atmosphere! I can't say enough great things about our experiences at Nicksons! One visit and you're hooked! Everything is spectacular!
It's a family run eatery with terrific service to include making all seven if us (including, at that time, my four month old grandson) cedl welcome! The menu is unique and the service is outstanding! I can't wait for them to reopen (after, updates) soon!

We were here last night and our server didn't confirm they were closing, just said she was not certain and agreed the letter posted on the door was cryptic. However, another apparent employee posted on a FB group that they are open through June. I have not seen any posts directly from the restaurant yet.
We had looked online for reservations and Open Table said they were full, but they were not. Our server told us that the online reservations has not been working. They had customers but there was not a waiting line being a Friday night, so don't look online, just call or go like we did to support them!!
The menu is smaller since I was last here, just a page, and I know they have been open less days since the pandemic, but the food was the same great quality and service was efficient + friendly. They no longer had the fried green tomato sandwich but had the appetizer, so all was good! The bartender didn't make me the spicy House margarita I ordered, just a regular one, so our server brought me both, and I ended up getting a free drink, which I appreciated trying them side by side!
What a quaint place, yet modern and very cozy. The food was amazing...I felt as if i was transported to a coastal location far, far away from Chicago. Great service and clean environment.
We had a great experience at Nicksons Eatery. Our food was great- we both ordered the pickled brined fried chicken-the kids meal was fine, and the server was awesome. Everyone inside was super friendly. It was a great experience. And they had crayons and coloring paper for the kids.
Great food, good service and comfortable seating. Portions on the small side for the price but worth every penny. I highly recommend the Gouda bacon flatbread.
We go here all the time and have never had a bad experience. The crispy brussel sprouts are fantastic, the fried green tomato sandwich is beyond, the cocktails are always super tasty.

It was my first time dining here with my friend, and we had a fantastic experience. Courtney took care of us, and she was awesome. Felt right at home. Food was delicious, we had the mussels, shrimp and grits, and the brisket sandwich. So flavorful. I live in the city but would totally commute to come back again.
