Review Brennecke's Beach Broiler - Koloa

Helena Andrade
Such a cute and charming place. The view is great, super chilled place, well decorated and good vibes. The staff working at the bar are calm young legends, they are so polite and nice, there’s no shouting no banging whatsoever. But the food… oh my goodness. I had the blackened ahi sandwich. Hands down one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had! Highly recommend this place

Our food was very tasty and came out quick! We subbed our fries for mash potatoes and they were so delicious. Our edamame was so spicy so we didn’t eat them but everything else was great. Service was great and got sat quickly. Plus the views are beautiful of poipi beach

Great Atmosphere. Many options for anything you could imagine to eat for all meals during the day. Make sure you try a Puka Dog when you’re there if you don’t have time for a meal at the restaurant. Perfect spot to grab something to eat on the beach which is directly across the street.

What a cool place to take in the scenery while enjoying amazing drinks and great seafood. Came here multiple times on our stay in Kauai. Would go back in a heart beat.

Brennecke's Beach Broiler is a right on the beach, the restaurant is located in Poipu, Kauai, Hawaii. Great avenue for dinner, patio seating is highly recommended. One can have romantic dinner while enjoying amazing Kauai sunset. Enjoy delicious seafood dishes and awesome cocktails. Reservations are highly recommended, otherwise wait times can be as long as an hour long! If you did end up waiting, checkout the sleeping turtles on the Poipu beach!

Great lunch spot overlooking the beach. Famous for its Mai Tai and other drinks, lots of delicious entrees, and friendly vibe.

Halloween night. Seated right away as walk-ins even though I was told 30 min. wait by phone. Food was DELICIOUS!! Party of 4 enjoyed ahi sandwich, seafood risotto, clam chowder, fish & chips and also garlic parmesan fries...ALL EXCELLENT. Service however was super slow!
Golden Girl
Shared fish & garlic Parmesan fries, two pieces of fish but good size and they were very good. Edamame was excellent, just the right amount of spice so they didn’t burn. The coconut shrimp was excellent!

We revisited this place while on our trip to Kauai! Great drinks, nice food, super friendly, ideal location and attentive servers. We will come back on every visit!

We stopped by to grab lunch to-go and decided on the fish sandwich which was delicious, the sauce and the pickled toppings were a great combination with the fish, the fries that came with the sandwich tasted stale unfortunately. The service was not great as we waited at the bar to order for a while and the woman tending the bar ignored us for a while. We decided to get the same thing to-go for dinner and had a positive experience ordering with Brian who was great.

Long awaited five star review! Brenneckes catered my rehearsal dinner. The staff, food, customer service and price point were absolutely amazing. I am so thankful to have found such an awesome restaurant. The food was the best we had while on the island and they made my rehearsal dinner a dream come true!!! We will be back when we are back in Kauai!

We loved everything about this place. Location, greet staff, service staff and the food were amazing! All of the appetizers were perfect. Coconut fried shrimp, ahí sushi and stuffed mushroom. Dinner was delicious as well. We tried the New York Steak with scallops for my son and my wife and I both had the Mahi Mahi with scallops and fresh veggies. Cooked perfectly. We definitely will come again. Thank you Hoku

Good Food, Great Place to hang out and enjoy a meal. Service was good. I would recommend it a place to visit while in Poipu. Definitely be there during Happy Hour.

Oceanside tasty food and drinks! We had an AMAZING time at Brennecke's and went back several times to get our fill of their delicious food and drinks. It's right across the street from Poipu Beach, making it an ideal spot for grabbing a bite after some marvelous snorkeling. Service was exceptionally good whether we sat at the bar or dining area. If you're lucky enough to get a seat by the window, you'll have a million dollar view of the beach and ocean as well as a nice ocean breeze. I couldn't get enough of the 808 Cosmopolitan made with Lychee Vodka, so smooth and on the sweeter side. We've had several different dishes and they were all delicious. Easy parking and always a spot available.

Best place ever very friendly staff and quick to what you need hands Down best place for a Bite or a drink!!!!!

Brennecke’s is the most consistent place in Poipu- great food, great pupus, happy hour drinks and the best sashimi we’ve ever had! Great for singles, dates, families. They treat you well here. Try the fish and chips, the mahi mahi, stuffed mushrooms,......I could go on.
Kit Reichow
We make it a point to have dinner at Brennecke’s every time we’re on Kauai. Great service, great food, great atmosphere. Always a delight!
Derrick Knee

This was our second visit. The first was 4 years ago! The food was so good the staff so friendly. And yesterday we tried for the first time the Bob's Favorite Pie! So so good! I even commented that if at the next peace talks they served that world peace would be achieved! Great place!
Kristin Goddard Myers
Delicious mahi fish sandwich! Kid’s menu was a hit with the fruity frozen drink options. Excellent view and service. Laid back vibe, definitely going back👍🏻
Richard Lugo
Food came out cold. The second time I reordered the food was remade but came out like warm. Not sure what was up with this place. The atmosphere reminded me of a dive that's just OK and not really known for their dining or cusine
Karen Quijada
Loved it; fish and chips was good; fish very fresh. We don’t drink alcohol but they had alcohol free drinks on menu so didn’t miss our Hawaiian cocktails. We will return before we leave!
Daniel Zimmerman
Overpriced Low quality food. Might be good for kids but that’s about it. Ordered ceviche , pupu platter, clam chowder and wings. Thumbs down on all dishes.
Greg Bump
Brennecke’s is a great place for awesome food and atmosphere, while looking out at the ocean. The waiters and management made for a great experience. We have there before and will be back.

YUM! My Chihuahua Zeus and I visit our beach often, Brennekes. We were starving yesterday so grabbed a quick bite, Slider Trio with seriously onolicious fries. The BBQ pulled pork was to die for. Will be ordering that our next time thru.

I needed a night to relax and be solo and end my trip with a wonderful meal and a glass of wine. I’m so stoked that this restaurant and staff were just what I was looking for. I recently stopped eating meat and wanted a bunch of hot pasta and a good atmosphere. I ended up sitting at the bar and was in good hands. The manager went out of his way to make me feel at home and helped me with special requests. I had the hugest bowl of pesto rigatoni with mass amount of veggies. It was perfect. I’ll be back!
John Baldyga
Great place to go to relax and enjoy some casual food in Kauai with great views that won’t break your budget.
Kelsey Chen
One tequila, two tequila, three tequila; floor. That’ll happen to you before you see the bottom of two of their famous Mai Tais. I’m not sure how they got famous as I imagine a pretty good percentage of their customers can’t remember drinking them, but the one I had was damn good. It’s rummy in the tummy, tempered with some lime and sugar from the curaçao. If you’re one of those people who really need to get their money’s worth, don’t worry, you’ll get a generous pour.

What better way to wrap a day at the beach with an early happy hour , good food , and attentive service. Beer cold; food hot; and the view tops the experience. Thank you Chelbie our server for customizing my drink and quick service.
Rae Richards
We absolutely loved our lunch here - beautiful view over the beach park to the water and great relaxed vibe. Our server was friendly and spot on in keeping our glasses filled, and the food was deliciously fresh with lots of options for healthy and naughty preferences!
Pastamania
Not as great as some reviews states. The coconut prawns were really good, the fish mediocre. Service is okay. Think my expectations were a bit high after reading other reviews. Would probably not go back.

The worst service experience of my life. The waiter couldn't stand still long enough to hear our order. In fact, left in the middle of our order to deliver plates to another table. We spilled a glass of water while he was at the table, he said "back in a minute" and we thought he had gone for a cloth. No such luck -- as the water dripped into our laps he was taking orders from another table. Finally the meal arrived and it turns out because my wife and my son ordered the same thing ( a burger), he thought they were sharing the burger. Dropped an empty plate in front of my son and disappeared for another ten minutes. When we confronted him with his mistake -- made because he wasn't paying any attention to us -- he copped an attitude rather than apologize. If you want to be treated like a human being, you should avoid this place.

A favourite for many in the area, and why that is can be a number of reasons. To me, if it is from a food perspective, then, well, absolutely. I had heard and seen the name so many times, that it was almost a prophecy getting here however by chance that was. A casual, everyone-friendly place right next to the beach. That is how to describe Brenenecke's Beach Broiler in the briefest possible form.

Getting here was the end result of a road trip, and some places along the way in mind for eating ended up not being the kind that people were wanting (i.e. sit-down among others). Another aspect was that it was my aunt's birthday and the meal had to be something solid and decent. Well, one thing was leading to another, and all folks there were hungry and this place was close by. That thing about the birthday.... we will get to that. Another aspect about this place at the time was they were celebrating the millionth mai-tai; the birthday girl engaged in that.

This place has been featured on several shows on the Food Network, so to lots of people around the country, and foodies in particular, it must be a landmark or destination of some sorts. And why would it not be? You have the fantastic location overlooking the ocean with a fresh breeze from the sea (N.B. the whole restaurant is on the second level, with specialty shave ice down the bottom level). This is a place for those who like their sports, since there was sports memorabilia all the way around the restaurant, a big game was playing on a couple of televisions and there is one of the most stocked and colourful (from all the booze) bars that I have seen yet. Obviously, this is something of a watering hole with good quality food attached.

They match you with a waitress, and introduce them by name to give it more of a personable feel. The one we had was Crystal, and she was an exceptionally friendly woman. To help with this, there is a small waiting area which has a map that you can pin where you come from if you so please. On that regard, everywhere possible in Australia was more or less filled up. Getting back to Crystal, she was pleasant, attentive and just genuinely showed some good customer service. I belive she deserves a write up for her efforts. Heck, even after there was some shuffling of seats (needed to get a good "birthday girl" picture in, and the arrangements weren't in line with that), she knew who was where. Very, very good customer service.

With the menu, it is likely to be standard fare for a bar & grill (anyone care to correct me?). This starts off with a range of pupus (some available during happy hour), then a few salads, and a few burgers, and sandwiches. That is at lunch time. Dinner, it expands to including pasta, more kinds of tacos, a range of seafood options outside of fish n chips, an actual vegetarian section and bigger, meatier meals. Then a few desserts are available upon request. For beverages, pick your poison. That is all I will say.

Starting off with drinks, the one that I got was the usual coffee. Filter, bottomless coffee and I am all good. From what I remember, it was quite good, had a fairly decent strength and was somewhere between bitter and sweet. Again, the size of the coffee was generous. Heck, I had a second cup if that says anything.

One that was being eyed off by a few people as the Bacon Gorgonzola Burger. It was me who sneaked in and claimed the prize, and what a tasty prize it was. The way burgers are done in the states are that a patty and the usual salad are inherent, followed up by what is mentioned on the menu. This one had applewood bacon, arugla, tomato, gorgonzola and tomato on a kaiser bun. On the side is a serving of waffle fries that are generously seasoned with minced garlic.

And man was it huge. But most importantly, it was delicious. The roll was solid, and the ingredients inside were all distinct (except maybe the mushrooms, which I often forgot were in there - no offense to them), were all characteristic and went together quite well. It is a burger for those who like strong tastes. I ordered my patty rare, and beef tasted good. The bacon was crispy and plentiful, a whole dollop of gorgonzola was on top. This was creamy, it was super strong in taste, and was what really made the burger. I was surprised at the amount of arugla on the burger, which was crunchy in texture, and peppery in flavour.

Those waffle fries were something else as well. Like I said, the amount of garlic on it was generous and gave it a distinct flavour. The fries themselves were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. At least at lunch time, these were the default option as a side to the burgers.

As usual, there was a bit of swapping around between peoples with the main meals. My mum ordered the kaula pork sandwich, which was luau style pulled pork on a kaiser roll, guava-plum barbecue sauce and sweet onions. On the side was French fries. The pork was tender and delicious, with the sauce being thick and delicious, adding in dimensions with the fruity flavour of the plum and guava. The fries were also good, crispy and whatnot.

My dad went for the fish sandwich, which had a medium-rare fillet of ahi tuna, and the usual American sandwich salad (lettuce and tomato, this time with onion). The fish part was tender and soft, with a good, distinct flavour that is somewhat fish but coulds still be friendly to almost every palate.

Making a manouver away from the table, I was contimplating throughout the meal how to organise some kind of birthday cake or whatnot for the birthday girl. In fact, that was even before leaving the house that I was wondering how it would happen. Regardless, during a break from seating I managed to cross paths with Crystal, and talked with her about it. On the house, they can arrange this for a celebration such as a birthday.

I managed to keep it all under wraps from my aunt, so when a group of waitresses (along with Crystal) arrived at the table singing "Happy Birthday", you can bet that she was surprised. The lucky blighter gets a sliced of "Bob's Favourite Ice Cream Pie", this is coffee ice cream (molded into a pie/cake shape), mixed in with macadamia nuts, chocolate fudge and coconut, on a crust made of chocolate cookies. The serving size of it was big, and five spoons were given. There was enough for everybody in the end. Also, in so many years of having some great desserts, this just might well rank among the best, and it was not like anything else that I have had.

There was no doubting the flavour of coffee in the ice cream. It was stronger than the two cups of coffee that I had combined, and it melded well into the creamy texture of the ice cream. Having bit of nuts and chocolate in it was a treat, since you were given an occassional crunch and whatnot, combined with the nuttiness from the macadamia, the chewiness and sweetness of the chocolate, and the unique texture and taste from the coconut. It was finished off by a good, solid and crunchy base made of cookies - and that often makes for a good finish to a sweet.

In the end, I enjoyed this place way more than I thought I would ever have. Whatever your thoughts are on the food, or the type of food here, or about sports bars, one thing that is not able to be denied is the location, or more so the wonderful views from the balcony. To me, it was close to a perfect meal, and a perfect occasion. With so many people there, and the entire place buzzing, there were high hopes for it that I feel were met. It may not have been what anyone had in mind during the day, and I will reiterate that the surprise sometimes takes the cake for what becomes memorable. And that was our experience at Brennecke's.

Love the view and location but must be under new management because I miss the lovely bright petunias in the window boxes, the salad bar, beef ribs, and the taro rolls. Those are all gone. It is pricey. First night I asked to just have the mahi grilled and they kind of smothered it in a lemon caper sauce. Second night I ordered it, it was just right-no sauce. Tender and broiled perfectly. They do accommodate special requests. Drinks are pricey yet not very strong, just had beer the second night.

Absolutely love the pupu platter. The servers are friendly, the view is awesome. One of our favorites. You can come straight from the beach and enjoy a great happy hour, or enjoy a wonderful dinner and trade winds with a great view.

Brennecke. What I went to this restaurant, it has a collection of college pennants and shirts. Also, I drank the world's famous Mai Tai!

Amazing fish and chips! And Bobs Perfect Margarita lives up to its name

Last time.. For over 20 years this was the first place that we would go when arrived on the island. The last time is the last time I will eat there. The food was terrible, the service was horrible and everything is overpriced.
Greg
Service poor food quality poor outdated overpriced drinks great views is only thing they have going for it

This is certainly a popular place. We had a reservation for 7:45 and arrived at 7:35. We were given a square buzzer and told we could get a drink in the bar while we waited. The restaurant was packed and so were all the waiting areas. At 9:00, we still hadn't been sat. We suspect they just lost us in their list - the pieces of paper I saw with the host have reservations and walk ups basically together and I suspect we were just crossed off. When I reminded the host, we were sat right away although it wasn't mentioned why it had taken so long. 7 minutes after ordering, our meal arrived. I had the opa and it was good. My husband had a salad and the sashimi and it was good too. If we returned, we wouldn't make a reservation. I'm not convinced it matters. But maybe it was just a mistake. We likely wouldn't return again for a meal because the menu didn't have too much else we would try. Unlike others, we'd say the atmosphere and view are nice! You can hear the waves, it's open air and they had a musician in on Friday night. We'd come back for a beer in the bar though
Charlene
It was okay. Not really sure that I would go back. I ordered the coconut shrimp. The breading was super thick it really overwhelmed the shrimp. It was too tough really to finish. I ordered the virgin mai tai which tasted overly sweet and thick as syrup the waitress though was kind enough to give me a side of soda water to cut syrupy taste down. My son's chicken tenders though were cooked just right. I ended up sharing his meal with him as the portion was huge for a child. The breading was thin and crisp and the meat was tender. His fries were delicious too. I went in at noon. It was not too busy but not empty either. The service was amazing. Not sure what the other reviewers were talking about. The location is beautiful.

Excellent little open air place with great service, good happy hour and beautiful view. We definitely will be going back.

A happy place! In Poipu, The Big Island. Lemon Crusted Fresh Ahi Salad with Lilikoi Vinagrette was my choice for lunch. It was a hard choice as there are so many tempting items on the menu. The fish tacos looked great. The view of the Pacific Ocean added to the fun of the day. I am so glad our brother-in-law suggested we try it. I suggest you try it too! The servers were terrific, the people waiting for tables were fun also. Brennecke's is a happy place to be.

080713..party of 5... 630pm. Everything was very very good. We called for a reservation the day before and then arrived on time.
They had a table waiting and were very
Friendly and nice. We were told who our server would be and although busy she was over with a smile to check in and start us off. We ordered drinks and the coconut shrimp to start. I also had a 3 bear sampler...all very good. While we enjoyed the above and the open air 2nd floor view of the beach park and ocean
Staff was working hard to refill drinks make sure all was ok. The salad we ordered was tasty and seemed to have been fresh picked that same day... very good. Dinner arrived via more friendly staff and looked great. I had the ahi (medium vs medium rare) and porchini ravioli .... Perfect!!! Everyone else in my party had equal results. Then desert. we chose two of the several our server recommended and the two we ordered were great and plenty to satisfy. Although busy, Our server Mae could not have been nicer.
The service from all was friendly and attentive. So I did not understand some of the previous mixed reviews. The place is clean, casual, cozy and cute with good food and good service. On the way out, i asked to speak to the manager . Although busy, a very nice Naomi, was pleased to hear how we enjoyed everything. Coordination and good management will either make or break any business and the hard work to coordinate and please their patrons was obvious here . If I lived here I would be a regular customer.

This place has terrible service. We had reservations for two, and another couple walked in ahead of us without reservations. The host literally said to them-there's a wait but I have an open table for two right now so I can seat you. We walk up and there is no table for us and we have to wait 10 minutes. After watching him stare at his waiting list we finally get up to walk out and he stops us as we are literally almost down the stairs and says are you guys ready to be seated? We then left.
Sam
Great Location and service. Not only was the restraunt great but the small shack next to it to. Great location, food and service!

Put the Lime in The Coconut. Had a killer day at Poipu beach. After hours in the water I knew it would take a while to extricate the snorkel mouthpiece from my numb jaws. Works well when you want to guzzle coconut water and rum through the tube, but not when your growling tummy thinks your throat has been slit.

Finally managed to pop the thing loose leaving a rather weird smile while the jaw muscles relaxed back to a normal position. It was just then that we all began to smell the fish and chips frying from the nearby restaurant and were pied pipered across the street ready to ralph a couple of baskets full of golden crisp ono.

After hauling our sensitive, sunburned carcasses upstairs doing our best not to touch anybody or anything, we received menus and got more than we had hoped for; a big "basket of Oh no"!. One thing you gotta keep telling yourself is, "I'm on vacation"! That will help soften the blow when fish and chips are over $20, tacos are over $15.00 and burgers are over $10. Mr. Bill (think old Sat. Nite Live) would have a field day here!

Can't say whether it was starvation, desperation, or a combination that led to everyone completely finishing their plates of food. I can say that the burger was a little overcooked and dry and the fish / chips a little oily. But it all ended up the same way. Gone!

We did go back subsequently for drinks with a great view from the second level. After that and other plastic melting encounters, it was back to guzzling rum and coconut water with lime juice through my snorkel again.
Island Foodie
Long timer returns. For many years we enjoyed dinners here but stopped going for more than10 years. This was due to two members of our family who had difficulty with steep narrow stairs to this 2nd story diner.
We returned since the handicapped elderly family member is no longer with us.
We found service to be friendly and efficient, the view at sunset still great and the food improved. It was a good value with a varied, reasonably priced menu. We loved their ahi burgers and fish and chips. The Kalua pork tacos were excellent. We appreciated their kids menu.
A new favorite is the coconut shrimp appetizer and Mai Tais are very good here.
We will be back after two positive family meal experiences. I just wish they would do something about those stairs!

Chowder was cold... Sent back to kitchen and was returned as the Fish and chips arrived... Fish and chips were good .. not greasy. Famous Mai Tai's were ok not great but ok. Loved the location. A little pricey. Wait staff and service was great.

Sat at the bar. Nice breeze with the door open. Bartender was good, I mean great at her job. Food was fresh and tasted good. Bloodymary was a wow for me
James Randall
The atmosphere is terrific. But my fish was overlooked. The service was poor. We had to ask for place settings and it took 30 minutes and four requests to get refills on water.
Theoceanblue
They ran out of fish, steak and no apology. I can not explain how disappointed and frustrated my husband and I were with Brennecke's. We were very much looking forward to the "friendly service" and great food, but that was not our experience. First, they ran out of fish and they also ran out of the steak entrée my husband was interested in ordering. Then we waited over an hour for our food with no apology from our waitress. She just said thank you for not being rude to her. Meanwhile, we could hear the host turning people away, telling them they have run out of food and to make arrangements to have dinner somewhere else.

When our food finally arrived it was mediocre and still no apology for running out of fish or for the food taking over an hour. It would have been nice to have been comped a free drink or appetizer or dessert for our patience. We actually overheard another table asking if they could be comped for waiting so long for their food, and the host came over and argued with them. It was very awkward and unpleasant. Our bill ended up being around $100 and it was the worst dinner we had during our stay in Kauai.
Sh
We love this place for happy hour. Only Maii Tais will do. Excellent coconut shrimp and Kalua pork nachos. Dinner specials serve nice portions and are gourmet delites. Came w/ free dessert and of course we had to have Bobs version of Kalua pie. Awesome view for whale watching.
NRC13
Overpriced!! Lunch of clam chowder was watery and awful. Dinner of shrimp Scampi - for a whopping $27! - included 4 shrimp. Super lemony and included lots of fillers like capers (too many), carrots and green beans. Service was crap both times. Luckily, we got a table right before our waitress completely forgot about our section, so I only had to ask for water twice. Our bill was $94 for two of us. Two salads, entree and chocolate cake. Will absolutely not return.
Altaf Nagji
We called before we left our hotel making sure they were open and were confirmed they were open for anither hour and half and were also doing an appetizer special. When we got there after an hour of driving, we were told they're closed and could not serve us. Ridiculous!!
Sheila B
Great food , even greater folks! Ono with wasabi, ribs, Tiki Torch!! Best maitai's ... Pretty porch seating& ocean breezes-- kudos to Falcon!!
Pmp
Food is blah. View is nice. wish i would have read these reviews before spending a quick $40 for two on lunch.
Sam The Sham
Sticky tables, watered down drinks and unimaginative, unexceptional food.
DCM
It's pretty good and in a great location. They offer fresh fish, locally caught.
Mark T
Worst place we've eaten on the island. Shrimp was overcooked. White Fish was brown inside. Little alcohol in Pina Colada. Pricy. Waitress wasn't friendly. Good view of waves though.
M Hays
Best Pork Sandwich. We are still thinking about the pork sandwich we had there! The service was great and fast.
NY Taster
Great lunch with a beautiful view of Poipu Beach. I had the prime rib sandwich which was very good. The chocolate lava cake was incredible. Their overpriced frozen drinks need improvement, even the smoothies my kids ordered from the Children's menu. Overall, we really enjoyed our lunch and might go back another day for lunch before our vacation ends. Different menu and higher prices for dinner.
Mike G
Pricing vs location. Ok, the first issue waas the prices. Must be paying for the location because the costs of the drinks and FOOD was not what I had in mind when paying for the late afternoon meal. Beach was ivo the tables. Pleasant staff is what saved the day.. If you are thinking about going here for dinner - DON'T. Go to Casablanca's instead - pay less and get double the tropical drinks vs what you would buy at Brennecke's on your tab.
Parker
Great View. The food was decent - the beer was better but the view was great. After dinner we walked across the street to the beach and witnessed an incredible sunset.
Lil_Satan
Are you serious? A 10% surcharge because I asked for my meal to be take out? For the kinda money they charge for food, there shouldn't be any stupid charges like that. The food was good, but not that good. Spend your money at the Beach House instead.
Mark Parrett
A beachside diner that asks $30 a plate? This place could be cool but their prices are a joke and it feels like a total dive. Maybe ok for a post-beach burger but stay away for dinner. You can get a real meal down the street at Roy's for the same price.
Bryan Northup
Great atmosphere and very friendly waitstaff. The choices for dinner were amazing with fresh fish and plenty of red meat choices. Great experience, highly recommended.
Russ Boyle
Save Your Money. Hostess was extremely cranky. Couldn't handle the pressure of a busy Friday night. Made you feel like she was doing you a favor checking on your reservation.
While the food was alright the service was horrible. I'll repeat that....horrible!
Did I say the service was horrible? Well it is.
Here's a great one. After charging you $2.50 for a diet coke they have the audacity to charge you fifty cents for a refill. Another plus for Subway.
The view from Brenneckes maybe incredible during the day but without that view at night they are very mediocre at best. Oh did I say the service is horrible? Just checking.
Mr._It_Better_Be_Good
Great place! I'll be back for more!
Ashley
Nice location food is plain and overpriced. Won't be back.
Martha
The nachos and veggie burgers are delicious.
Brandon Harder
Avoid this overpriced poop hole! Horrible steak (bland, overcooked) boring fish. $2.50 for a shotglasss of diet coke, no refills. Fusion cusine only if you consider having nachos and chicken satay BOTH on the menu. RUN to Roy's.
FTW
Its about the location and the bar, not the food.
Kirk Hughs
I think they forgot the flavor in our food. Or maybe we just didn't pay enough for flavor to be included. Very unimpressed and very overrated!
Gerry Bauer
Brennekes. This place is a classic Kauai stop. View-a 10. We watched whales breech while we had a superb lunch. Go for good food (reasonable prices for island food) and make sure you order a "brown nipple" .
Joe Driggers
Still a great spot.. It has been fifteen years between visits to this spot, but the food and the view are still terrific. It is not as expensive as I remembered, or perhaps I'm a little better off financially than the previous visit. Come in straight from snokelling on the beach and get a cold beverage and a juicy burger.
Eating In Vancouver
Their second floor, open-air dining room has beautiful views overlooking Poipu Beach Park and turquoise waters. Since we were in Hawaii, how could we pass up ahi tuna?! So we both opted for the tuna burgers: Fresh Hawaiian Ahi Sandwich ($13.95) - Ahi tuna, grilled medium rare, with lettuce, onion, tomatoes on a toasted sesame seed bun. Crispy golden fries, and tuna cooked to perfection; these were truly excellent burgers, would highly recommend! Their desserts sounded decadent, so we decided to order the Chocolate & Coconut Ice Cream Cake; it was heavenly rich and delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed this as well. Overall, Brennecke's Beach Broiler is the perfect spot to grab a bite on Poipu Beach. A must-see during your trip to Kauai!
