Mcewan's Kitchen

Had a chicken skewer and a soup (dieting). Food was good. Chicken was a bit on the dry side. Service was good and the place was clean. The table was set for four when we arrived (two of us) and they did not remove unused dishes, napkins and silverware. They were just put back in place when we left. Not the most sanitary.

Took over 45 minutes to get our food. Omelette was good, breakfast sandwich was just ok. My daughter ordered a Belgium waffle and it was extremely over cooked, to the point my daughter (teenager) could not eat it. I let the waitress know and she apologized, and agreed, and then said it doesn’t even look like you could even eat that. What bothered me was she did not offer to switch out the meal or even take it off our check. I could have pushed the issue (since she left her entire meal), but we had a plane to catch and it wasn’t worth the time to to ask to talk to the manager. As mentioned, the service was extremely slow and other tables were having issues getting their food too. I am surprised because the restaurant is inside the Four Points Sheraton Hotel, which was sold out for University of Tennessee parents weekend, but the restaurant was only half full. I would think they would’ve been staffed better considering the hotel was sold out. I can’t imagine what it would’ve been like if the restaurant was full. It is convenient because it’s in the hotel but if you have the time I would recommend going somewhere else. There are lots of good restaurants around.
