5+🥩 I hadn't been to a Shoney's in probably 30 years! Our friends down here in Knoxville told us we had to go to this particular Shoney's and they were right! Everything in the buffet was delicious. I had the fried pork chops, the shrimp, the creamed corn, the green beans, the potato salad, the mashed potatoes, it was all good! Their sweet tea was very good also! My wife had a little bit of almost everything. She said it all was delicious! So, this looks like Shoney's will be on the list from now on, lol! By the way, the bathrooms were spotless. Because if the bathrooms are dirty, so is the kitchen! Then you need to go somewhere else. See Jess, she is one of the servers there that took care of us, wonderful wonderful wonderful person.

Why is it a 4 star? We stopped here because it was a 4 star. Instead of taking the salad bar we took the food bar. The only meat I could eat was the fried chicken. The rest was pork and I cannot eat pork. The fried chicken was greasy and slightly undercooked. I tried to eat what I thought was stuffing or dressing but it turned out to be a mash of ground beef with onions and cranberries in it. The cranberry sauce alone was good. I then had a salad. The cauliflower had brown spots. The carrots tasted old. The cheese tasted strange. The mashed potatoes were dry from being left out too long so I had to dig in it and put some gravy on it. The cottage cheese did not much taste to it. The macaroni salad was good. Other than that, the lettuce, broccoli, onion were fine. The Sweet Tea was good. My husband says he lived it. I did too even though it could be improved. The waitress was attentive. I did not finish it so that is what I am giving it a 3 star. Maybe if came on another night it might have been better.

They are very clean, friendly and the right balance of attentive staff. The food is great. Price is mid-low range but can go up to $30 at most for a single order. Most people eat the buffet. It's about $35 for 2 people on the buffet with drinks.

The WORST Shoney's I have ever been to. This was not due to service or cleanliness. $12 for the Salad bar (no meat option). Then they didn't have the normal stuff that I have come to count on when I walk into a Shoney's (too many missing items to list here). This wasn't the, "cut us some slack because we can't get ingredients for our bar due to Covid". We are well past that time frame. This looked like, "we will only put out the cheap ingredients to maximize profits". What they did have was stocked and fresh. This Shoney's taught me a VERY VALUABLE lesson: go look at the bar before you order.

Always clean and their buffet is always filled with delicious food. I am addicted to their biscuits and french toast sticks. I'm GF and they are totally worth the tummy reaction. My Mom adores their ribs, they are tender and fall off the bone.

I stopped by today after a dr appointment and had the soup and salad bar. Wasn't really impressed with the meat offered. The vegetables weren't warm in fact a few were at most luke warm. Server was great and when I got the bill almost 16.00 for the little I was able to eat and a drink.😡. I don't think I will stop again. The server was pleasant. Not very attentive. But, I was shocked that they don't offer a lot of things on the salad bar they once had. Looked like some chicken fried and cut up. No ham, mushrooms or anything like it once was and the price and cold veggies. I'll pass next time.

Since they closed all the Shoneys in the west area of Knoxville, I have not been to one. I happened to be in south Knoxville and I used to go here a lot when I lived in this area. So I decided to take a nostalgic stop. It has been revamped and so looks like a different place. I ordered the buffet as usual. The desserts were good.... and everything else was overcooked and fried. Then when I saw the price! It $12.50. I will not be going back.
