My wife just reviewed this place and I had to add my stamp of agreement as well. We wanted to find the smallest, most non-descript, non-franchise establishment and that's exactly what we found. We had the pork platter with two sides. The pulled pork was the best I've ever had and the beans were hot (temperature, not spicy) and tangy, just the way I like them! The young lady working the counter was so sweet and kind too. The funniest thing, however, was there's this beat-up smoker out by the front sign and I thought it was out there for the novelty of the place. But when I asked my wife to take a photo of me standing by it, it was emanating heat. I looked at the temperature gauge and it read 250°. They were smoking meat in it right then and there! It was completely rad! You don't get more genuine than THAT! And to think, when you eat at Clanton's, you're at the ONLY Clanton's on Planet Earth!
Last but not least, for two pork platters and two large sweet teas, the total cost was under 15 bucks. You just can't beat the quality, atmosphere and experience.
I ordered ribs and pick them up late yesterday. I asked for them to be cold so I could reheat them for a birthday lunch today at my house. They were a big hit. I'm not a rib person, but I did try them and they were delicious. I will definitely be coming back and trying some more items on the menu.
Food is good to excellent. I recommend on latest public health score and user reviews. However, the joint could really use some outside maintenance and upgrading. I have live in the area for 5 years, but never visited the place until recently because of the external rundown low class look. I tried it several times recently and like the food. If owners would just spend some money and improve the external look of the place I am sure it would help their overall business.

Great BBQ, Pulled pork awesome, Ribs great, and the sides are sooo good. Fast friendly service. The owners are great people. Way more food than the money you pay. Sausage dogs huge and great flavor, like only 3.00 dollars, BBQ sandwich overflowing with meat, only like 3.25 . Small take out place but definitely a must try BBQ joint! Really Good BBQ - Best Prices In Town. Small family operation is a very simple roadside stop. Call in your order for pick-up or walk up and order from the window and wait about 5 - 10 minutes.
Get ready to be surprised. Crazy amount of food for the money. We got a whole rack of beautiful, succulent baby-back ribs neatly yet simply wrapped in heavy-duty aluminum foil; 3 QTS of family-style sides including southern cole slaw, potato salad and hickory smoked baked beans: 6 pcs garlic butter Texas toast and a pint of slightly clovey BBQ sauce - for $25!
This is a neighborhood smoke joint that is worth a ride to.
BONUS: Beer / Tobacco store right next door that you can pop in for your beverages while you wait for your food to get packed up. A-1 Discount Beer/Tobacco shares the parking lot.

Everything was good.
The ribs however, are outstanding.
I highly recommend the ribs.

I travel the country for a living. I make it a point to try everyone’s barbecue. I can tell you with confidence that these are the best ribs I have had anywhere in this country east of the Mississippi. These ribs could compete with the best of Texas. Having said that I don’t recommend ever eating here. You will become addicted. You will have to go to rehab. You have been warned.
Great BBQ and done right. I don't go to any chain restaurants (including local) for bbq sandwiches anymore because it is really such a big letdown once you taste Clantons. Absolutely no way to adequately compare Clantons to anyone else. It would be an easy win for Clantons. The large pulled pork sandwich is the best lunch food value in and around Knoxville, and is larger than what is sold elsewhere for more money. And be prepared to share the French fries with one or two other people! The hush puppies are terrific. I have also had the ribs on two occasions, and they were wonderful! May try the Polish sausage sometime because Danny loves it so it must be good. The staff are so nice and work so hard to get the food prepared and into your hands as soon as possible. Me and my buddies just Love this place.
Best BBQ at a reasonable price I've ever ate I live i Maryville but am doing Construction in Knox and got the guys on my crew eating there now good stuff
Drove a bit to get some BBQ here. It was good... not sure if most people dont get good BBQ normally when they eat it (home or restaurant) or if this place is hyped. It was pretty good though. The cole slaw was really delicious and the sausage is so tender and tasty. The pulled pork may be hyped a little bit. The BBq sauce was good. Beans were good... potato salad has little onions fyi. Might need to ask for pickles because I didnt see any in my platter plate for the pulled pork. Tea is good and sweet.
Best bbq pulled pork in Knoxville. Been here twice and both times were delicious and I had to finish my sandwich with a fork because the portion size! Not much seating but worth the trip.
Wow! Who knew that such a huge wonderful taste could come out of a little tiny building? I had the pulled pork platter and a pulled pork sandwich and they were hearty servings. Fantastic! Cooked to perfection. It's nice when the meat isn't overcooked. These guys are great!
Good prices and fast service. I had the pulled pork sandwich, the meat was tender and the sauce was good, A little on the sweeter side. Would recommend if your in the area. I only give it 4 stars because they are only open from 11-2 during the week
