Kates Bakery&cafe

Kate is phenomenal - she took care of our seasonal wedding desserts this past Fall (Whoopi pies and a tasty gluten free cake!). Not only are her creations absolutely delicious, but her attention to detail is exceptional (including placement of flowers from the florist). We live in Boston and continue to make the trip to Kittery for our special occasions (including gender reveal cupcakes) as there really is no one better than Kate!

Kate's Bakery and Cafe made the cake for my wedding, and it came out exactly how I wanted it to, simple with a beautiful dahlia from the florist, and it tasted great too! We also ordered mini desserts for our rehearsal dinner and those were fantastic as well! I highly recommend Kate's Bakery and Cafe for any dessert needs!

Their website states to call them regarding wedding consults/tastings, so I did. The person who answered the phone was very short with me and asked me to hold on while she talked to someone next to her about what I wanted. I could hear everything she said- "There's a girl on the phone who wants to book her wedding for NEXT YEAR." She then passed me off to someone else who suggested I call back another time. I called back another time and the same scenario essentially repeated, only this time I was asked to send an email instead of speak with someone. I sent them an email with the details of our wedding and what we were looking for. I did no get a reply for 2 weeks. For some reason, I still decided to schedule a tasting. When we went for the tasting, Kate was there and told us she had someone call in sick that day. She gave us two kinds of cake, a bite sized fruit tart, and a cannoli because "that's what I have today." We didn't get to sample different kinds of cake at all, and she kept getting up to go do other things. Needless to say, we went with another bakery.
