This is one of the places where the outside does not match the inside. It was so tasteful done inside. The calamari was thick slices, so it was a bit chewy but was good with the chili dip. Flank struck, and peppers were tender and full of a variety of flavors. Making each bite great. The friend rice was a thumbs down. No taste. Ble crab ragoons was by far the best tasting ragoons I've had in a very long time. You could actually taste the balance of cream cheese and blue crab meat.
Went there for dinner before going to a ballgame, and I'm so glad we did. Not overpriced, portions were excellent, and service was amazing.
My family and I traveled from out of town. The amount of vegan plant-based dinner options was such a blessing. Delicious food!!! I'll probably visit one more time before we head up north. Our server Alfredo was the highlight of the night. He was so pleasant and attentive even amidst our special requests.
Here's a really nice place for Asian food... that's located in Kinston, NC! The inside was very clean with a trendy design. The staff was very professional. And the food was great! There were enough food choices for my whole family's different food tastes. For folks from the area, the price may be more than usual, but well worth it! Enjoy.
An absolutely amazing, fresh, and HUGE plate of chicken pad thai and a delicious margarita from Christina behind the bar. If things shape up the way she's aiming for, Laughing Owl will be getting a lot of notoriety- based on the already stellar food and service I experienced tonight. Refreshingly authentic asian-fusion restaurant that wasn't bastardized dishes that don't belong on any menu; we are talking about the staples from menus across the Asian continent.
I hope to be back for the chicken curry dish I was eyeing.
They were extremely busy but we did not have to wait to be seated. Our dinner was delicious and the service was great. We will be back!
Very tasty dishes! I had a salmon dinner and my mom had a shrimp dinner -- both very good. Great service, pleasant atmosphere. A bit expensive, but I'll definitely go again soon.
BTW, the rice and beans were the best I've ever had!
Food and service was great. Food arrived hot and as ordered. Megan was our server and took good care of our friends and family from out of town.
Came here on a recommendation and loved it. It was very slow coming in early on a Saturday and found the place fantastically located and laid out correctly. Only one server and seemed like she was just overwhelmed, but she made it happen. The food, authentic. The flavor, delicious. The environment, fantastic. Ordered what you see on the pictures from the menu and can barely write this as I am stuffed. The portions are generous. I highly recommend. Wish they had a location in Jacksonville!
I got the feeling I was rushed but we did come in an hour before closing. Food was amazing and the portion size was big enough. They also had plenty of gluten free options.
A hidden gem in Kinston. Eclectic menu, friendly staff, and delicious food. All 7 of us got something different and all agreed, everything was delicious.

Santa visited the Laughing Owl tonight. The food was good, although it took some time for waitstaff to get to our table for our drink order. We got Szechuan string beans with chicken, the spring rolls, and Pineapple Street chicken. I ordered the Singapore noodles as a side, which was an option in the menu, but sadly, was only given lo mein noodles. The Singapore Noodles are a really good option, and I am sad I missed the opportunity to enjoy them tonight. There's always next time!
Ordered the spinach and goat cheese flatbread! Food was amazing. So many flavors that went so well together. Atmosphere was inviting and relaxing. Service wasn’t the best, but not horrible either. We will definitely be back!

Atmosphere is fair, acoustics are horrible. Very loud, chairs sliding on floor etc.
I'd suggest more cloth decor and sliders on chair feet to absorb the noise!
