The best eatery in the world. I've been going there all my life and it's the best food and always cheap. I wish I could buy the lemonade by the barrel.

Went to Kinston for Chef & The Farmer, but will go back for Lovick’s! The dough burger was a real treat. Juanita was informative, sweet and very professional.

Lovick’s Cafe is a staple of downtown Kinston. Always a great meal. Takes me back to days when my Dad would carry me out there to eat when I was little.

What a great way to end our anniversary get-away to Kinston! Not only was the service spot on and the food delicious, but Steve (the owner) took the time to talk with us. We learned about the restaurant's history as well as the history of the town of Kinston. Truly a gem of a restaurant.

Lovick's Cafe is one of the best to ever do it. I treated my daughter Cherish to breakfast while visiting my hometown of Kinston over the weekend. Shout out to all the wonderful people at Lovick's Cafe.

The eggs are fresh and local. You can see the difference in the color of the yolk. And the sausage? I don’t even like sausage…But the local sausage they use is unbelievable! (I tried my friends and almost ordered some for myself!) Not impressed with the home fries…I wish they would just throw potatoes and onions on the grill…But that’s a Yankee thing, I reckon! Either way, I will keep going back!

Carpe' breakfast! What a hidden gem. If you want a well cooked breakfast make sure you give Lovick's a try. Good little ol' time diner feel, upbeat wait staff, and a great breakfast menu with plenty of options for everyone. Couldn't have been more pleased and we'll definitely be stopping in again.

Awesome brunch and breakfast! Breakfast is served until 1:30pm. The hot cake pancakes were a huge hit with my kids and the waitress even tried to make a smiley face with the whip cream. The sausage links were delicious too! For parking there is a little entrance after the seafood restaurant's parking lot that leads to the Lovick's parking lot

I was in a bit of a mood when I stopped at Lovick's Cafe. I'd been fasting since the previous evening for a medical procedure, only to discover it had been canceled and I had no notice. I'd driven an hour, too! Hot, hungry, and annoyed was my state when I entered. That all fell away almost as soon as I entered. All the staff I encountered greeted me with a smile. Customers were friendly, too! And the food? Delicious! Hot, cooked just right. So many selections to choose from, I'll have to return and check them out. The coffee was hot and tasty. Biscuits, hot and fluffy. I left in a considerably better mood - spirits lifted, soul satisfied, belly full.

Iconic cafe across from mother earth brewery in Kinston. Home of the famous dough boy burger. A must stop for breakfast or lunch. Breakfast is served normally until 1:30.

I ventured into this gem of a restaurant this morning for the first time, and was so glad I did!! Our waitress was sweet and pleasant. My one yr old grandson, and he mom was with me. We started out with pancakes served with fried apples. The pancake was so delicious. It had a pumpkin, allspice flavor and this golden butter that was poured on top of the pancake. It didn't even need syrup. I got the pancakes with pecans on top. However, once I started eating it, I realized there were pecans in the batter too. Absolutely delicious. The eggs, grits, and potatoes were also cooked to perfection. I said to my friend, I don't know who is cooking back there, but it was definitely done with love. She said, they got someone's Grandma back there cooking!! I highly recommend a trip to Lovicks in Kinston, NC! I can't wait to go back and try their lunch!! I hope the pictures help tell the story! Enjoy!

We really enjoyed our visit here. You pretty much seat yourself or wait along the outer wall for a table to become available. The waiter and waitresses were very kind. I enjoyed the historic pictures that adorned the walls. Pictures that showed Kinston of days past. I look forward to dining here again!

I got a doughburger. I have been a FAN of these burgers for 40+ years 😋. I can't eat them often but I always tried to stop in when came home to NC. They just don't make burgers like this in the south west and certainly not in Asia or Europe. I remember going in with my dad and he and Mr. Mac would always chat. Thank you, Lovicks, for keeping this item on your menu.

We dined for brunch. Our family enjoyed a meat lovers omelet, pancakes w/ apples, chocolate chip pancakes and the Warehouse special (eggs, bacon, link sausage, home fries, biscuit and French toast). We also added a side of sausage patties and 🥓. The food was simply delicious. Our waitress was excellent. A++ experience during a very busy mid-morning Friday brunch period.

The food was definitely a southern treat! I ordered the fried chicken/white meat special with fried okra and 🥔 salad. An acquired taste for some. The setting was a bit too open for what I'm use to but the food topped it.

Had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Lovick and her kind father Lee. This place is a warm hearted and friendly staple to the town of Kinston. Thank you for the welcoming words.

This is a very popular breakfast spot in Kinston. Usually very busy and could have a wait line on weekends. People were friendly and service was ok, but it was busy. Food was good, I just had biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs, it was good. Best part, the price, less than 10 dollars. They do have a fried pork chop that looked good and a lot of people seemed to be ordering it, maybe next time.

I just want to set the tone to my review of Lovick's Cafe for anyone looking to understand the significance of what my meal there meant to me: The city of Kinston, North Carolina is a place that takes you back to simpler times, a small town feel where everyone knew each other. You can tell that Lovick's was (and still is), a big part of this town where people got together every day to break bread and enjoy a great meal. There was just one thing - people like me might not have been able to enjoy a meal there in the 40's, 50's and 60's because of the times being what they were. Fast forward to today. As I was seated in the middle of the dining room area with just my 16 year old son and I, the magnitude of the moment hit me - I was able to enjoy a meal (an amazing meal, so stay tuned) with my son in a restaurant where my mother and grandparents who were from the South, would not have been allowed to go into. My heart was beating out of my chest as I was trying to hold back the tears that were coming from a place of emotion that I didn't think I was capable of. Even my teenage son understood how significant this moment was. These tears were tears of sadness and joy, which is hard to explain. The warm hospitality and graciousness that my son and I received from this 3rd generation (think about that) family-owned restaurant is something that I never thought I would experience in the South, coming from New York City. The Lovick's staff were very attentive and accommodating throughout our whole meal. I say all of this to let you know that my experience at Lovick's was beyond the meal. Yes, the meal was outstanding (please make it your PRIORITY to get those sweet potato pancakes, as they are the best pancakes that you will ever have, anywhere!) - but this was so much more than that. This was a testament to the Lovick's family to be a family of inclusion, where people from all walks of life can come into their restaurant and enjoy a great meal and have a great experience. I want to thank the town of Kinston for the hospitality that I experienced there - but I especially want to thank the Lovick's family for the time that I spent at their restaurant. I will be back for sure.

Warm down home southern hospitality in a place where you get to know the locals. Varying menu of comfort foods served with a smile as well as reasonably priced. Wait staff took the time to listen & adjust for dietary needs.
