Tandoori Flames

Best function place in Melbourne!! I knew this place from 2008 but never able to get there but recently I booked my son’s 1st birthday celebration. Food was 10/10 service was 10/10 . I highly recommend this place for private function. I definitely coming again for next event. Thank you Tandoori Flame !!

Tandoori flames - always flaming with the urge to create memories for you and your loved ones. We had our baby shower with about 35 guests on 17th August. Splendid venue, good ambience and food that will leave your palette wanting more. Deepti(owner) co-ordinated well and gave some great suggestions for the menu to cater for a good mix of Aussie and Indian crowd. We had the whole restaurant to ourselves for the Sunday afternoon. The staff was pleasant to deal with and kept updating you about food being ready and refills required. Seating is well placed with plenty of place for the dance floor and party games. All this at a reasonable price that won’t leave dent your pocket (especially during post covid phase). All in all a great experience for me and my guests. Would 100% recommend it for your next party.

Usually I don’t give 1 stars but sadly I had to with this one, after tonight’s experience. 4 friends and I decided to book a table before a movie. Myself and 3 friends run late. 1 friend arrived in time. They gave him 1 menu. Upon arrival we shared the menu as no one offered us any more. We ordered our food with the a lovely girl. She was cute and charming. She said it’s her first day and we totally understand and we’re patient. But we didn’t get any food. Nothing. We ordered at around 7.15 pm. We even checked and asked about our food. She said 2 minutes away. We left at 9.05 pm. No food for 1.50 hr. The final straw was that my friend ordered a glass of wine. After she received it she noticed lipstick stain from the previous guest. We left $15 to cover for some drinks and left. Many things could have been done to prevent our walk out. Nothing was done. We felt sorry for the lovely girl in her first night. But management should have been there to support her. Also, guest’s coming in after us received their food 20 minutes later. All in all not a place I recommend nor would come back. Sorry

On Saturday 18th , we had a function for my 8 yr old daughter at Tandoori flames. It was a religious ceremony followed by dinner. Had to book the restaurant completely , so that our guests of 70 people could also have privacy . The previous night my family had dinner to organise the menu ... What shall I say , ,, from the moment we spoke to Deepti and Jimmy ( owners,), to the time we had the function and follow up,,the entire experience was amazing. Deepti made sure everything was done to our needs. We ended up overstaying our dinner , and I sincerely apologise for that , but not one staff member made it an issue, we were not even reminded that it was well past closing time. The decorations done by Madhu was fantastic. Being foodies, and the group being predominantly from Hyderabad and Pakistan. , we are very particular about the food. I can say , I have not tasted better Indian food in Australia , than at Tandoori flames....... It was buffet , and food was constantly being topped up, to the point where the guests ( hard to please), were amazed.and could not eat anymore..... It was an amazing night , made enjoyable by our friends and families, but also by the exemplary service by the amazing team of Deepti, Jimmy and her staff... Special mention,, There is a notice on the wall, painted, for people who cannot afford dinner, just ring the bell and they will be given curry , such a noble cause, really humbled...to have met you guys.. If I could give 6 Stars, I will ..........

We recently availed the services of Tandoori Flames to cater for our wedding reception. From planning through to menu selection and delivering delicious food on the day the team @ Tandoori Flames were professional, very supportive of our needs, and went above and beyond to ensure everything went to plan on the night. Kudos to Jimmy and Deepti for their exceptional leadership, and I would gladly recommend them to anyone looking to organise indian catering for their special occasion.

Friendly attentive service. Mixed grilled entree was very flavoursome with a nice variety of meats. Perfect starter for 2. The dahi puri were great. Crispy shell, minted yoghurt, tangy centre. Could eat 100 of them. The cheese naan was good. A little thinner than most places but that also have it a nice crunch. The vindaloo was ok. It was a bit too salty. Overall great service, good Indian dishes.
