Review Pizza Oven - Kingsford

This was the first time my husband and I ate at the Pizza Oven. The waitress was very friendly. Their pizza was phenomenal! The pizza was one of the best we’ve ever had. They had porketta on their menu. We had never heard of porketta before. Porketta is pork roast that is seasoned with Italian style seasoning and slow cooked in the oven. The waitress said that the porketta normally comes on a sandwich, but they can make a porketta pizza. She explained that when they make porketta pizzas they generally use butter. We ordered a 16 inch double crust bacon, cheese, ham, porketta, and sausage pizza with pizza sauce. The pizza takes a while to cook because they use a 16” crust in the bottom then add the ingredients and the they put a 14” crust on top and add ingredients to that. When we received the pizza it really looked appetizing. When we started taking pieces from the pizza the butter and juices started to come out. The butter really brought out the flavor. The porketta gave the pizza a somewhat smoky flavor. My husband and I can easily eat a 16” pizza together, but not this pizza. This pizza was very filling. We could have probably ordered a 12” and walked out full and satisfied. We highly recommend the double crust pizza and don’t forget the porketta!

Listen to the reviews, this place is awesome. Small shop feel, some of the best pizza I've had and very kind staff. Do yourself a favor and go here or just get pizza on the way home.

Absolutely delicious it's been years since I've gone. And it was my fiance first time having it! We definitely will be getting it again! 😍♥️ Friday, Saturday, Sunday they have a special XL Pizza cheese & 2 toppings with garlic bread or breadsticks and a 2 liter of soda for $24! Pizza was huge and so good! We ended up getting sausage mushroom and banana peppers!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Lost of food for the price. Amazing pizzas ! Lots of options for toppings and sauces. The sausage is spectacular. They have been making these amazing pizzas for 40 years!

Absolutely fantastic pizza. The staff was super sweet and welcoming. We had a lovely experience and are really looking forward to going back.

Oh my goodness! It was just like I remember from years ago! Great service , and great cheesy breadsticks with really tasty pizza with a hint of buttery crust.

The undisputed King of old school thin crust Italian pizza. I have enjoyed this pizza place since the early 70’s when they were on the North Side just down from Schinderles Grocery and across from Green-leaf Bar. We drive over a thousand miles to eat the best pizza possible and it is our first stop upon arriving to the twin city area. Pizza Oven is a food landmark for Dickinson county and the whole of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Favorite pizza spot in Iron mountain! Gotta have their cheesy garlic bread 🤤
