We treated ourselves to a sunset dinner at 5 palms and it did not disappoint. We started at the bar with a happy hour starter called BBQ Rib and a glass of wine each and when the restaurant opened we were able to have a front row seat for two for sunset (of course we made reservations a head of time). It was absolutely stunning and the food was amazing. We each chose something different. One being the Togarashi Spiced Yellow Fin Tuna and the other was the Special Three Course Dinner Catch of the Day. Both were great in the own right and probably would pair nicely with a white wine but we love our reds.

My husband had the loco moco which was really good and I had a crab omelet (but next time I'm getting the loco moco too ;-). The house bloody Mary's are very tasty. The outdoor seating has an ocean view that is quite pleasant. I love this location, it's at one of my favorite beaches. The staff were friendly and attentive. We will definitely go back.

Catch of the Day was swordfish, which was exquisite. The drinks were amazing, the service was impeccable, & the sunset view was incredible. What more could you want? I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the Kihei area on Maui!

Amazing drinks and the view was spectacular, I will add more later after I have actually eaten dinner. The dinner was amazing, there was nothing we had tonight that wasn’t amazing. The staff was very attentive and super personable, we will definitely be coming back the next time we are in Maui.

Good views and nice staff but way too expensive. The menu was around 50dollars (see pictures). Tasty but not worthy. Goat salat, you can see the small piece of cheese on the middle, almost all of it lettuce. Fish with rice and vegetables for second. Maybe better to come for happy our ONLY IN THE TERRACE to enjoy the views

5 Palms shuts down permanently starting today. We made it just in time for one last breakfast. The fam has been coming here for nearly 20 years. So many memories! Will miss the old bar and staff, but honestly looking forward to seeing something new and more modern here. A Merriman's Restaurant perhaps?

5 Palms Restaurant is excellent. The service is top notch- friendly, attentive, and efficient. The food is delicious. I had the filet and lobster special. The steak was like butter and the lobster was perfectly cooked. My husband had the NY strip which was also cooked to perfection. The coconut shrimp was very good. Additionally, the location is fabulous. Right on the ocean and wonderful views. 5 Palms is definitely a great place to drop in and have dinner. Thank you!

We were seated promptly—they had a table available an hour before our reservation. It was dark when we got there but we were still able to hear the sound of the waves and the overall ambience as well as service were pleasant. The food, on the other hand, was decidedly not. The drinks were pretty mediocre and the food was barely palatable. The prices seem to have been pulled out at random from a bag because they make no sense given the quality of the food. This was the worst meal we had in Maui. The salad was just a bunch of tomatoes, cucumbers and lettuce with a dollop of goat cheese in the center. The poke was more rice than fish—and grocery store quality sushi rice at that. The fish tasted like it had been cooked in a microwave and was served over Thai-curry-from-a-jar flavored soggy vegetables. The flourless chocolate cake tasted like another failed microwave experiment served with some sad looking whipped cream.
Be warned: the menu online is incorrect. Expect at least twice the price with entrees priced around $40. I’d strongly recommend against dining here.
