Warm welcoming when we entered. Friendly staff! These folks are not afraid to feed you. I wish I was able to take more food pictures before we devoured our meals. Bacon good! Biscuits good! Hashbrowns good!!

We stopped because it was an easy spot to pull in at Keystone to eat and not have to fight with parking downtown. The food was really good and the staff was friendly. It did take about 35 min to get our food, but we weren't in a huge hurry. Definitely loved dipping my hubby's ff in the honey mustard dressing from my salad. Limited hours right now. Closed at 2.

OMG.
I can't say enough about this place.
The staff was really attentive and friendly.
The food was fantastic.
Definitely home made.
The cinnamon rolls were amazing.
The Chicken fried steak was one of the best I have had.
The pancakes and french toast was some of the best we have had.
Nothing we had was average or bad.
It was recommended to come here for breakfast and it did not disappoint.
They only take cash so make sure you have cash.

Belated review: I ate here for breakfast on July 2, 2013, on my way to Mt. Rushmore. As I was leaving the restaurant, another customer, seated at a table with his wife and another couple, noticed my motorcycle jacket and asked where I was coming from. Somehow, our conversation found its way to what high school I attended. It turns out that his wife went to the same high school as me in Los Angeles, CA, one year ahead of me! They too were riders with BMW sport-touring machines. I'll never forget Peggy's Place for that reason. Oh, I can't remember the details of my eating experience, excpt that it did well with me.

Actually they deserve no stars. We went in to have breakfast after checking out of our hotel and before we hit the road back home. Very cold greeting when we entered. She took her time to find a table, but while we waited we saw the sign cash only sign. Another restaurant complained to us about the credit card fees, I can only imagine that that's the reason for their sign. I can understand hating the fees, but that says to me, they'd rather you pay fees at the ATM so they don't have to. Then there was the no pancakes and French toast after 11 sign, it was 11:05. I really wanted a pancake. (The hotel only serves frozen ones.) Then there's all the political signs. I may agree with them, but I just found it weird to have them there. Their restaurant, my opinion. Then a city/county official came in, ran over my grandson, had a line of interesting questioning for them at their kitchen window. They finally sat us, but we decided to leave. We needed to start out our day better. BTW, small restaurants in SD don't like serve breakfast after 11.

Food was delicious. Fast. Service was friendly. Coffee was good. Atmosphere was quaint. Kid pancakes Mickey ears and my child was happy about it. Waitress was Darla, she was on point. We may come back in again.

What a great find! If you are ever at Mt. Rushmore and need a place to grab a bite, go here! Awesome service, great food and a Truly American and Patriotic place to eat! No Biden fans here and they aren't welcome either! If you don't Love Freedom and the American way, then go somewhere else.

Best burger we had the whole time out in the black hills! Nice to have good home cooked food option instead of junk tourist food. Love the American patriotism too:). Def eat here
