Review Tokyo Grill - Kentwood

Enjoyed my meal here with my friend, started with their house salad, as everyone told me, it was a must try, Katsu boxes are big hits there so if you don’t know what to get, you won’t go wrong with those! Got shumai for an appetizer and I’ll get it again. Sushi was good, and so were the rolls!

Have dined-in and ordered out multiple times. Food is always fresh and timely and the staff is very courteous. Lots of options too! You can also call-ahead and reserve a private section for a large group which is really nice!

The restaurant is very clean. The staff were very attentive.

Despite the conflicting signals of an "open" sign and dark windows, we're glad we checked and found this place open. We had a platter of hibachi shrimp and another of assorted fish. Both were delicious and reasonably priced and promptly served. The atmosphere is modern with some Japanese-inspired privacy between booths. 80s music wasn't exactly authentic Japanese, but pleasant all the same. Having identified ourselves as new to Japanese food, it would have been nice to ask some questions about our food or what to do with the extra dishes we were given or for a drink refills. After being served, we didn't see our waitress until we flagged her down for our check. Still don't know what the extra plates are for or how to eat soup without spoons, but we like a challenge.

This is by far, the most amazing sushi place in town. Hands down. No questions. Very delicious rolls with amazing and bold flavors. BEST CHICKEN FRIED RICE ever. Authentic. Clean and some of the nicest staff ever. I've been coming here for over 10+ years. If I ever had any issues, the restaurant happily takes care of it without questions. Well worth the money.

Our first trip to Tokyo Grill & Sushi will not be our last. We had wonderful appetizers, including delicious kimchee and fantastic edamame. The other couple we were eating with enjoyed their tofu miso soup so much they ordered another bowl. The entrees, including variations on hibachi were also delicious. The service was very attentive.

We love this place a lot! We come here for lunch often and also for dinner. Staff is always friendly and the food is always so fresh! We can only recommend.

This place is nothing special to look at and the service is okay. But, the sushi is absolutely phenomenal!!! We have eaten sushi all over the world and the sushi here is the best I’ve ever had! It is perfectly firm, but not chewy, buttery flavor, and just all around perfect!

Phenomenal restaurant! The ambience was cozy and comfortable. Seemed like they had a wooden theme going on. Food was great and price was reasonable. Would definitely visit here again and try out other things in their menu.

One of the best sushi places in Grand Rapids! The staff is outstanding and the food is wonderful. The sushi tastes fresh and the warm food is always hot. This is a great place to go on a date as well.

Harim was an amazing waitress. The food was off the charts. The volcano roll was so delicious. The atmosphere was an elegant Asian motif and not the overdone style that is common. I will definitely be going back!

This place is a whole vibe! From the outside I was unsure because the windows were so dark and uninviting. I encourage you to go in! The food is great! If you want to try something different try the Bulgogi roll! It's amazing!!

I stop at the Tokyo Grill every month or so while in Grand Rapids for a nearby event. This time a friend tried one of my favorites - a Beginner tray (the ones on the wood cutting board), while I tried a larger Bento box for the first time. Both meals also come with a small side salad and are finished off with a carved orange The food is wonderful, and the service prompt + courteous, right down to the complimentary hot towels while looking over the menu

This is some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. From presentation and quality to atmosphere and friendly staff, it was truly 12/10. If I didn’t live in San Diego, I’d be here every night for dinner.

What a hidden gem. You can't judge a Sushi Restaurant by the outside of the building! Tokyo Grill & Sushi has an extensive Japanese Menu. We had the Salmon Teriyaki and the Chicken Katsu including vegitables, a bowl of rice and Miso Soup and house Salad with Ginger dressing. We ordered a sweet Potato Maki roll. The portions are very generous and we could have easily split one entrée for the two of us! I recommend Tokyo Grill & Sushi

Best and most fresh sushi around! The hibachi is hands down the best I've ever had and I have yet to eat anything from this place that isn't good! If Japanese Cuisine is your thing, then I definitely recommend Tokyo Grill and Sushi Bar!

I have never eaten sushi nor have I ever wanted to try it. So when we discovered this gem of a restaurant I was at first skeptical of the experience of dining here. Let me just say, MY DINNER WAS THE BOMB!!! Although I did not try the sushi, the dishes I ordered were wonderful. There was so much food! The presentation was very artistic and eye-catching. Our server was a wonderful and competent young man, the restaurant and the rest rooms were spotless, and the staff was attentive. I should really try the sushi next time.

Have always been a big fan of Tokyo grill. First disappointment tonight. Always get the hibachi beef and have always been satisfied. Tonight the beef portion was 1/2 of what it always has been and price has gone up significantly. Sorry, this is my last take out order, can’t afford $50 just for take out to feed a family of 4

Absolutely amazing! Best Japanese food I have ever had, I cannot recommend Tokyo Grill enough! A+ for great atmosphere too! Will definitely be back again and again to enjoy!

It is absolutely by far the best Japanese hibachi grill I've ever been to, the prices are reasonable the staff is amazing I currently live in Milwaukee Wisconsin whenever I travel back to Grand Rapids Michigan it is an absolute must I visit Tokyo grill

We love this place! Even when crowded, they will have you wait longer than rushing to cook the food and serve poor quality food. I prefer quality food rather than "fast food". Great job Tokio Grill Team. Think quality rather than quantity, quality rather then fast and quality rather than cost and you'll win. Cheap low quality food is everywhere. Good high quality food is what you have. Keep it up!

Food, service, and restaurant where excellent. I highly recommend the going If you are in the area.

We ate a little later, around 1:30, and the place was pretty slow. It took a very long time to order, and then receive our food. The food (sushi) was fine, but nothing spectacular.

Food is great but INCREDIBLY rude waitress. And the two waitresses fought with each other the entire time. Might be time to find another place for sushi.
