If you are looking for an amazing breakfast with some history and some of the best people who own the joint? Look no further Franks Diner is the spot to go but be prepared to make a memorable experience each and every time you come here don’t be in a rush sit back and enjoy the controlled chaos and you will love this place and its atmosphere. Garbage plate and coffee is the perfect mid afternoon combo for me. Oh and I almost FORGOT (had to hit the edit button) be sure to try their onions!! Freshly sliced every morning!

The food is amazing and you have to try the garbage plate. Be fore warned don't go here if you are in a hurry. It is a place to just sit back relax, and enjoy the company of whom ever you are with. This is a cozy diner that is run by great people.

Since I was nearby we had to stop for breakfast since it had been featured on Diners, Drive-In and Dives. It comes with a warning of - Order what you want, eat what you get! We all had our own versions of the garbage plates and our selection of bread to include the cinnamon swirl. Plenty of food and we got exactly what we ordered. Great food, in a rail car atmosphere. Glad we decided to visit. Bring cash. Response to Reply: Thanks for the reply, that’s nice to know. When I did a Google search on my laptop for Frank’s Diner the small info (see attached picture) stated cash-only, so I brought and paid cash, never asked if I could pay with a card. I’ll know for the next visit. Keep up the great service with your great food.

Service was great took a little while to get the order, but that was nice give a little bit to chat with my daughter! food was cooked really well plenty of servers stopped by to ask if we need anything cleared dishes right away! As always plenty of food got to take home some for breakfast the next day and it was kind of nice didn't have to have very long wait since we got there early in the morning.

This place never fails to impress. Brunch staple of WI/IL. Been coming here for years! Staff is friendly and fast. If you're in the area stop by this historic joint and get yourself a garbage plate with the homemade toast. You'll thank yourself when you're done!! Remember come early or else you'll find yourself in line!

Some of the nicest breakfast food I've ever had the garbage omelet is absolutely amazing beautiful flavor and great servers that can make a whole room light up. The food is fantastic and the homey train car feeling it really feels like a time capsule and you walk in and you just feel at peace recommend every time.

Very yummy! I got poached eggs and sausage with toast, and my friend got a half garbage plate, it was all perfect. The price was right, the flavor was incredible, and the staff was funny and kind. Definitely recommend!

Been wanting to go since we seen the Diners,Drive-ins and Dives. Had the special (garbage lid) and it was pretty good. I liked the no-nonsense diner vibe!! Very small place and your probably going to have to wait ( and by that I mean you give your phone # and go wait in your car or outside. I definitely will go back, the cooks were amazing the system they had ( the cook has a helper who sets up the ingredients) and the non-stop cooking!!! Was a thing to see. This is not your fancy latte stuffed French toast kinda place. It’s a relic of what diners used to be (I mean that in a nostalgic good way). See you again Frank’s, and I gotta make sure I don’t eat dinner the night before, the garbage lid (and I only had a 1/2 one) portion was very generous!!!

My daughter and I had the BEST breakfast!!! She got the peppermint pancakes and I got the half garbage plate! Both dishes were amazing! The toast is made from homemade bread- so good! And they have mimosas! Love, love, love Frank's Diner!!!

Haven't eaten here in years. Was super busy at 11:00 am, had to sit at the counter which was a bit uncomfortable. Took most of the food home to eat. The homemade bread was very delicious as was the cheese omelette with spam. The garbage plate was good, but seem to like my Hashbrowns separate.
