Have lived in the area for 20 years but firt time to Country Butcher. So many unique and high quality products. Only reason for 4/5 is pricing. Still, I will come back to try the $5 stuffed burger patties.
Coming from Long Island I was spoiled with my options of butchers and delis. The country butcher did not disappoint! I’ve purchased filet mignon serval times and it was delicious every time. The Kennet square burgers are a must, and the ground sirloin is perfect for meatballs, tacos and whatever else! There’s also a deli section that had all the Italian meats, cheeses, and breads that are perfect for hosting! If you’re new to the area and looking for a great butcher/deli lunch spot check them out!

I got the rib eye sandwich. $17. Of course I am thinking sliced ribeye. I was wrong. I would have preferred this rib-eye on a plate. It was a good roll but not a $17 sandwich roll. The roll was also too narrow. Everything kept sliding off the roll. Cutting the Tomato slice in half would have been a big help. The basil mayonnaise was very tasty. As a ribeye it was delicious. As a sandwich it was a miss. It came with french fries but even they were undercooked. I got a brownie. The brownie was delicious. The brownie was big. The brownie gave me a stomach ache because I ate it all at once and should have been two or three servings. Ironically the brownie helped me dollar cost average down the price of the meal.
The Country Butcher catered my wedding of ~100 guests, and we had a perfect experience! The planning, communication, pick-up, and food were beyond what I could have dreamed. We worked with the Chef and butchers to determine the best option for a hog roast, and they more than delivered on expectations! The entire process was so easy, and their customer service is unmatched. The food was a huge hit, and I was thrilled with every single selection.
If you have any catering needs, definitely consider The Country Butcher!
The cafe here is awesome. The food is fresh and delicious; the staff welcoming and friendly.
Fantastic local shop for gourmet meats and cheeses! Everything you would want from a local butcher and more! Great little café also for breakfast and lunch. Another Gem of Kennett Square!
If you want a prime steak go to Country Butcher.
Wow! Consistently outstanding off the grill. It’s $35 a pound; but, I don’t care.
I wanted some nice appetizers to enjoy with a glass of wine/cocktail at the end of the day so picked up a variety of items. The Spinach Artichoke dip is delicious - I combined with the Fire Hook Baked Crackers w/Sea Salt - I am not a big dip person but this is REALLY GOOD, light and not overwhelming. Also got the marcona almonds, castelvetrano green olives - which were a nice compliment to the dip and the Hummingbird cheese (local) - light and different. Yes! It was pricey! But it was all SO damn good! And took a glass of wine/cocktail to the next level at the end of the day. Highly recommend ;))))
