I used to love Amato's but wow it's now so pricey -- $20 for a turkey sub sandwich. Still great, but just a little sticker shocked at how much more expensive a lunch is here..
Friendliest lady ever took my order and rang me up...wish I'd gotten her name! Chicken salad Italian was a new one for me and I'll definitely order it again!

You can't go wrong with Amato's! Italians are on point, and their calzones are wicked good, too. It's a classic Maine staple.

Our first visit. We had the meatball parmesan and an Amato's Classic Italian. The meatball sub was excellent. The Classic was overloaded with everything they put on it (a first world problem, I know). Tasty but the bread, which is excellent, got too soggy.

Good food, fast service, nice selection of food items for all tastes. My wife got a wrap and had plenty if fresh ingredients. My daughter got a pizza which was cooked perfectly. I got the all meat calzone which was delicious and was large enough that I had enough for leftovers.
Looks like a fairly new place, they have cool looking bowls and comfy seating. No wifi. very friendly staff, food is same as always.
Love my Amato’s since my Dad brought home sandwiches from the original Portland location back in the 50’s. Best sandwich ever. Now I like the ziti dinners, too.
