Review Ports Of Italy The Kennebunks Italian Restaurant - Kennebunk

Norm Ostasiewski
My wife and I first ate here as part of a progressive dinner 2 years ago and in our return to Kennebunk really wanted to try the restaurant again. While the menu is not extensive, there still are plenty of options. The homemade pasta is very good. There's a nice Waterfront View and if it's your thing, valet parking is available. It was nice to see the Chef restaurateur actually in his restaurant. The atmosphere is nice and the interior is nicely decorated. The service was friendly and our appetizer and meal were very good.

Fantastic food, generous portions, central location, and great views from the back deck. Not much more you can ask for! Burrata and all pasta dishes were excellent. Next time I'd skip desert, but maybe that's just because I was so full from the meal.

Just had dinner randomly on a Thursday night and had the best meal deal ever! For $19...that's right $19, you get a glass of wine, an appetizer, an entree and a dessert! Incredible food and you can't beat the price! Abby served us, was super friendly and did a terrific job! They have several winter deals until the end of April & maybe into the end of May I think? Spacious dining room and great food. Also awesome cocktails and apps...great bar too....small but great service!

Awesome food! Pretty good price. Definitely recommend, not even close to being like that place that was there before

Very nice. We got the fettucine meatball, avacodo salad, and lamb stew. All very solid, and very asthetically pleasing.

Great place for Italian food in Kennebunkport! We certainly was not expecting much, simply wanted a night off from lobster, and wow - we where amazed! The mussels in Sambucca and tomatoe sauce was some of the best we've ever had.

I took the family of 4 here for Sunday dinner in order to check the place out for a potential spot to have a big family gathering (16 in all). We love going to their sister restaurant in Boothbay and are looking for a place in southern Maine to gather. We reserved a table online for 5 o’clock when their website says they open. I am happy we went that early because there is limited parking and since we were one of the first to dine, we were able to find spots out front. The staff seemed friendly enough and we were seated right away. The selection on the menu is limited but there is enough variety that I think everyone in the extended family will be able to find something they’ll like (swordfish to pizza). We ordered the avocado salad, artichoke ravioli, rigatoni bolognese, stuffed shells, and Caesar salad. All of us thought the food was tasty as expected, but the portions seemed a little on the smaller size compared to their sister restaurant. The prices were what we expected. 1 Guinness and a glass of wine completes our order for the 4 of us. It came out to an average of $32.20 per person before tip. We sat inside but they do have outdoor seating with umbrellas that looks nice. By the time we were half way through our meal, the place had filled up. It is open concept with nice farm table look. I was impressed that even when it was full, the noise level was good enough so we could have a regular conversation without shouting. Overall decent experience.

We had Sunday Brunch. All we could eat for $25. Excellent quality and the choice was amazing. Everything from bacon and sausage to oysters and hot smoked salmon. Wonderful pastries and cake for dessert. It was very busy but staff were working hard to keep the food coming. Definitely recommend it but be sure to make a reservation

Very good Italian food. Personal size wood oven pizzas were delicious. Had excellent salmon entree with perfectly cooked vegetables. Very helpful and gracious waitstaff. I would have given 5 stars, but the wonderful view I had out the front of the restaurant was ruined by a huge truck that was parked right up against the window (see pic). Valets, you should think twice about parking monstrosities in front of your restaurant's scenic view!

My family and I went here for dinner after Kennebunk's Christmas tree lighting. We had a table right next to the from glass facade and had a great view of the river and the fireworks. The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The overall review must suffer a star because our first course, clam chowder, came out cold. Once it was heated it was tasty. I prefer my chowder to be thicker, but it was good. Also, I ordered a pepperoni pizza. I would describe their take on pizza as "artistic." The dough had a layer of standard red sauce, dollops of fresh mozzarella in a circular design and some pepperonis also arranged in an artistic design. Not my standard idea of a pizza, but it was tasty and worth eating. The other members of our party all got various pasta dishes which were all very good.

Food is authentic and delicious. Service and wait staff, spectacular! Wonderful wine list, and the prices are fabulous for the quality and service. Two specials (lasagna that night) came with bread and olive oil, glass of wine, 35 dollars. The owner walks around and checks on guests, super friendly and makes you feel welcome.

Had a late lunch here while visiting the area. Ordered shrimp scampi as a small meal. Very fresh and perfectly seasoned/prepared, served over French bread. This place actually had sticky toffee pudding for dessert -- not on many dessert menus where I live. It was served warm in a cast iron skillet; the toffee sauce was chilled to a soft solid that melted when poured over the warm pudding. To die for. Pleasant service from the wait staff. Got antipasti as a snack for later in my hotel. The prosciutto was some of the best I've had. Highly recommend.

We visited not long after opened to have drinks and dinner with family. The seating outside was nice and the food was good. Now let's talk about the Sunday brunch. It was amazing and a value. I ate myself stupid on good food. I would highly recommend making the brunch a must do on your visit to the port.

The Octopus and the Lasagna we're very good. Our waitress was excellent. The only reason we didn't give it 5 stars is because NOBODY greeted us. We stood awkwardly in the front entry for a good 4 min, before anyone spoke to us. I do NOT fault the hostess who was on the phone with a customer , but the girl behind the bar saw us and said nothing. Just kept chatting with all the locals that were sitting at the bar. She made eye contact with me, but nothing. How about a " hello the hostess will be right with you". THIS should never happen. We are brand new to the area and I'm sure we will go back, but that wasn't very friendly or welcoming.

Nice atmosphere, very good food. The weekend brunch buffet is phenomenal and worth the $25 for those special occasions. Lasagne night is great. Fridays are $1/oz ribeye! We shared the 55oz and it didn't disappoint.

Loved the food and the service was impeccable. Our server, Jen, was just the sweetest woman and my husband and I had an incredible time! The pork and ribs were cooked to perfection and the atmosphere was warm and comforting. We would absolutely recommend this restaurant.
