Review Old Vines Wine Bar - Kennebunk

We had a fantastic dinner at Old Vines Wine Bar! It was so fun trying the tapas dining style. Everything was delicious — both the food and the cocktails were unique and tasty! My husband said the duck was the best he’s ever had. I’d definitely recommend stopping in!

I had the halibut with tomato farroto...excellent... my husband & i shared the truffle fingerlings for app...excellent BUT if u order, ask for extra sauce!!! The cosmo was also great (and nice & strong)!!! Friendly server, too!!! Not sure why people say they don't get enough food...i had to take half of mine home...and pic shows portion was large.

This place had awesome food! Smaller portion, snack style food! Some larger meals on the menu as well. Ive only been once so far but its possible the menu changes in the warmer season. Ill update. Excellent cocktails 🍸! Everything was great but I really loved the brussel sprouts! It's a beautiful place but the seating is not quite as cozy as I prefer. The upstairs seems to have slightly cozier seating.

We spent 2 evenings in Kennebunkport and went here on both sat at the bar and met a few locals on both nights. Food was delicious, small plates with a twist. Cocktails were awesome!! Definitely highly recommended.

Gorgeously rustic chic atmosphere and seriously delicious food. I attended a private event in the upstairs area and it was really nice. Servers passed small bites like falafel balls and mini lobster rolls that were perfect for the event, then set out a buffet including Caesar Salad, meatballs in sauce, sliced steak etc. for us to nibble on, then brought out blueberry crumble cups and churro bites for dessert. The bartender was friendly and mixed excellent drinks, including an Espresso Martini. I would definitely go back. A very pleasant evening at a pretty venue.

Stopped in Christmas prelude and had the best el furgo margarita. The staff was incredibly kind, and the atmosphere fun and light. Will be going back to try food as it looked amazing!

Excellent tapas, great deal on Tuesdays ($5 small plates), good wine selections but not a huge list for glasses, really delicious flavor combinations. The feta dish was amazing. Great personalities among the staff!

We had a reservation at 2:30 during the first weekend of the prelude 2023. We got seated right away. We ordered drinks, truffle fingerlings, crispy brussel spouts, chicken meatballs, and a caesar salad. It was split between 3 of us. The food was delicious. Everything was seasoned perfectly. Our waiter was great and knowledgeable. I can't wait to go back.

Arrived a little early to grab a drink at the bar before our table was ready and were so charmed by the atmosphere at the bar that we opted to stay there to eat. The cocktails are very well made, the wine list impressive and the food was really tasty. The melting in your mouth pork belly and chorizo muscles were our highlights.

Excellent service here. We got a very warm welcome and the staff was very accommodating at finding us a table so that we could be near the live music. The staff was very knowledgeable about the drink and food menu. There are happy hour specials available and uncertain nights live music. We very much enjoyed the appetizers as well as the Greek board. Can definitely recommend this place.

We really enjoyed our visit to the wine bar. GREAT for GLUTEN FREE diets. Lots of gluten free options across the menu, including a very good gluten free brownie. As someone who can eat gluten (we ordered it for my wife), I can testify that it’s every bit as good as other brownies I’ve had. Thick, dense, moist, slightly gooey, and delicious. Also pictured is the seafood paella with scallops and mahi mahi. The wine was good. We enjoyed all of our food. The staff is great and the chef clearly knows that they are doing. It’s a tad pricier than I’m used to (we are from the Midwest), but you can’t beat the experience. We spent about $80 on a glass of wine, hot toddy, 3 dishes (potatoes, seafood paella, brownie), and tip.

Very very nice spot with tapas style dishes. Amazing food! The flavors were great! The place was a little small and the tables were really close together but it had a nice friendly feel. We went in the evening for dinner around 7 so it was a bit crowded but our wait was only 10 minutes. The lighting was nice and dim for a relaxed feel. They also have a nice outdoor area with tables and a fire pit but it was a little too chilly to enjoy that. The staff were all super great and accommodating. The bathroom was very clean and nice. Pleasant time had by all!

Recently visited Kennebunk and this was one of the most recommended restaurants by locals. After eating here, it's easy to see why. All the food incredible. We got the chicken meatballs, baked feta, short rib, farrotto, and the sticky toffee pudding. The meatballs in particular are excellent- very moist, wonderful sauce and great garlic bread to dip with. We'll be back here again on our next trip!

This was a highlight of our August vacation in Maine. If you just love cocktails and wines but just want some amazing small bites along with it then this place is your restaurant. It is highly recommended to have reservations for outside and inside or you would have to come early to be on a wait list. The staff was amazing and the cocktails we had were unique and amazing as well. We ordered the beef carpacchio, Caesar salad w/ white anchovies, steak frites and pork belly. All of them were amazing and made by experts. Will gladly go there again with no issues.

Such an amazing place! Outstanding food & service! Loved everything we ordered & we ordered a lot of dishes. The Fig Tartlet with goat cheese, crispy pancetta, roasted shallot jam was my favorite as were the Falafel with preserved lemon yoghurt, cucumber quick pickle, dill, house-made naan & the Chicken Meatballs & Pan Seared Halibut. I wish I’d taken photos of all the food but it was being hobbled up before I had a chance to snap photos! I’ll go back just for the desserts- the Sticky Toffee Pudding Chantilly cream was that good! Will definitely head back to Kennebunkport & Old Vines Wine Bar soon.

If I could give 6 stars I would. I can’t speak more highly of this place. The menu is unique and exquisite (and very vegetarian-friendly!) and quite reasonable. The flavors are outstanding, the ambiance is beautiful, and the customer service was fantastic. James was so knowledgeable about our dishes when I had questions. He was also very attentive and so friendly! GET THE GLUTEN FREE BROWNIE for dessert. Oh my goodness. The Nivik & Naan dish is outstanding too!

Our favorite restaurant in the Kennebunks, no contest. The other night we decided to try a new restaurant in Kennebunkport. We were greeted in enthusiastically, seated at a table in an empty room with no ambiance and a stool with no back, with pounding house music. We left and returned to Old Vines where we sat at the bar and shared seasonal tapas and warm and hospitable wait staff. Guess trying new places can be overrated. Never had a bad meal or less than a friendly welcome.

Old Vines is an excellent place for good food and superb service. The wine selection is also top notch. If you have the chance to visit, it is a must go.

If you’re ever in the area visiting the Old Vine Bar is a place to stop at the end of the day. The fried calamari is the best I’ve tasted even better than mine and I’m a chef, definitely need the recipe to copy. The wine selection outstanding a little pricey & the Crostini was a bit too hard not everyone enjoys rock hard bread, would have been nice to have fresh grilled bread instead, everything was well presented. I was with another executive chef and between the two of us and ours wives there wasn’t much to complain about. We will make sure we stop in every time we are in the area again for sure. Thank you!

Probably one of my favorite spots around. The wine list is dynamite, service is genuine and friendly, and the food was on point. Just all around great

A shopkeeper recommended Old Vines for patio dining (with our little dog) It was lovely and the food was wonderful! Hummus, with deliciously prepared warm pita bread, Roasted beet salad with blue cheese crumbles, Chicken meatballs with marinara that has a definite tasty spicy kick! Generous wine pours. Friendly staff. Will return!

Best place in Kennebunk to get a drink, by far. Not only are the cocktails hand crafted... there delicious, the owners and wait staff are so friendly and most of the time there sitting right next to you at the fire looking for a great conversation! Wine list is amazing and the tapas are perfectly paired with the drinks they serve, always recommend this place and it is always my go to for a great drink and an awesome atmosphere!

Perfect alternative to all of the seafood restaurants on the water down in the port. This place is rustic, charming, the workers are friendly and knowledgeable about all of the wine and delicious food they serve! I also got a fantastic cosmopolitan at the bar the other night! Cheers!

Old Vines not only has the best cocktails, wine list and great beers, they also have amazing food. I have never been disappointed at Old Vines and I love having them in Lower Village!

Fantastic spot...amazing food, drinks, atmosphere and staff! Great place!

Since they opened up the patio with the fire pits and lots of seating and changed things up inside it's a radically more accommodating place to go. Yes, the drinks are awesome, the bartenders are wicked nice as are the servers. Food is great. I don't go there enough! !!!!
