We just got home last night from the Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua. If I could give this hotel a 10 star rating I would. Everyone there was so nice and helpful. I came back from a trip and my Latte coffee was cold that I had ordered earlier in the day from the Ritz coffee shop.. I had asked one of the gals at the concierge desk if they had some kind of a microwave so that I could warm my coffee.. she actually took it from me and brought my coffee back at a perfect temperature.. Magic!!. I was also in need of a bag.. She disappeared and in a few minutes she asked me.. will this do? Oh my gosh yes yes. I was soooo happy with the service there.
Before we left in the morning, we noticed the staff cleaning the pool area. Scrubbing out the kiddy pool and washing everything down. This place is so clean and tidy. If there is anything you need from them... Just ask!!
Let me just say one more thing.. I went snorkeling with the tour they have there and Kathleen was the best. She gave us a presentation and taught us about the fish we will see. Then she supplied us with all the snorkeling gear including an underwater camera. She dove down and pointed out the fish we had learned about and took us over to where the turtles swam. By the evening I had checked my email and she had already emailed the pictures we took. Now I have fantastic memories that I can share with my family and friends. I highly recommend this tour. A ten star for sure!!
Akiko, Sophie, Mark and Asa made our wedding one we will never forget . They went above and beyond, looking after every detail and often anticipating things we didn’t realize we needed. They made a dream a reality for us, our families, and friends. Truly recommend these wonderful people and magical place!
I love the Ritz-Carlton hotels. We booked here to use Marriott points and were able to get a 2 bedroom residence with a points + cash upgrade. The staff is excellent. The food was great. The pool was very nice. The accommodations were outstanding. You can get the Kapalua shuttle anywhere on the property. Definitely use it to visit Kapalua Bay! Worth every penny!
We had a beautiful ocean view suite. The service is impeccable! Our private cabana at the pool has a flat screen and a full mini bar. Def recommend staying here. The world renowned chef at the hotel is amazing!
Service, rooms, amenities everything was excellent! I had worried that it would be too windy in Kapalua but found that it helped feel less hot and we were able to hang out by the pool and beach comfortably. Highly recommend this resort.
Very impressed! Beautiful resort and the staff has been so accommodating. Everything we have needed they bring it very fast and are so nice. Surprisingly kid friendly! They have a kids club, pool and playground. I would definitely come back!
Love this place ❤️ It’s been a great vacation!! We hate to leave... Mark the bar tender was awesome Granger the valet was always there for us (must be the name connection) loved all the guys down there!! Maids were fantastic - Just a wonderful vacation!! 2 weeks of complete relaxation!!
The staff there and food was fabulous!! Loved our waiter Ara!
The valet even fixed the mirror on the car!
We had exceptional service from the moment we arrived. We were upgraded to a partial ocean view along with given access to the Club Level as we were celebrating a birthday. The food on the 8th floor was very good! Everyone was friendly and helpful. Had a very relaxing and wonderful week and would come back again!!

They set the bar over the top with excellent service in every area of the resort.
Beautiful luxury vacation spot on Maui. Amazing concierge service for booking excursions off property too. 👍👍😎
I stayed here four nights during the Celebration of the Arts and had a most memorable time. Everything was warm and inviting; friendly and welcoming. Everyone was on point, the room was full of amenities and plenty of everything I needed. Crisp and clean throughout. The food at the Banyan Tree was delicious!! By the time checkout came around, everyone had memorized my name and made me a part of the Ritz Ohana. Mahalo for this incredible experience. Aloha
Wonderful facility the employee's treat you like family, Jorge in the Valet remembers us every year.
I love the pool and Spa
I have been staying at the ritz Kapalua for over 10 years and it’s not very often you develop genuine camaraderie with staff. The valet staff is amazing and always greets my family by our first names and makes us feel like family. And then Justin and Dillon are the same down at the pool, always making us feel well taken care of, they’re courteous and once again making us feel so at home. Keep up the good work! 😁
Banyan tree is in a gorgeous, setting halfway between the hotel and the coast on the side of the sweeping lawns of the Kapalua Ritz Carlton resort in Maui.
The restaurant staff could not have been sweeter, more professional, or more accommodating to our large, three generation family dinner party.
The food was sublime, and the chef made any adjustments we requested to the set menu items
If your time your best reservation, right, you will enjoy a stunning sunset and a superb meal.
Margaritas by Mike are phenomenal! And the beef short Rib is to die for. As real estate agents on Maui we love knowing the best places to entertain our clients and this place has amazing ambience, food, service and views! This is a Maui ‘must do’ it’s the experience you’ll be dreaming about for years to come. Oh and did I mention the Malasadas? YES! Laura our waitress was incredible and Big Bad Ben has some great stories to tell. Thank you all!!!
Nick is fantastic, as a veteran of 20 plus years at the establishment, he was very accommodating. Set the pace for a meal fantastically knowing we were celebrating a birthday and I really enjoyed his commentary. He's formal if we were able to make conversation and joke. I can't wait to return and experience this restaurant once again.
came here for a surprise birthday sunset dinner and couldn’t have been happier! food, service, ambience, & views 11/10. love the fact that they use local & fresh ingredients.
it’s located in the ritz & took us a while to find - go inside the hotel, downstairs, outside & past the pool to get to the restaurant. (note: the amazing bread rolls costs $ for the table, but they were worth it.)
Maybe it was the ocean view. Maybe it was because we had just finished a long hike. Or maybe it was that we hadn't eaten for a while and were well past the point of hangry. Whatever the case, we loved this restaurant. The food was mouth-watering good. Flavourful, with just the right texture. If you get there around sunset, and sit in the right place, you can enjoy your dinner with a backdrop of the setting sun and whales breaching off the coast.
Service was friendly, informative, and quick. Which we needed cuz, at the time, we were at urgent levels of hungry.
One interesting thing is that the washrooms are the same ones that service the hotel pools. They were decently kept, but if you see curious amounts of water around, it's probably from the pool.
I am so sorry for my review because I love the Ritz everywhere! This restaurant is accessible for outside guests.
+ wine selection is good. Nothing better or worse than other places. Andaz and Spago have probably the best wine selection.
+ the place is wonderful
+ 7:30 pm there is a very nice fire show (duration 10 minutes)
+ the service is great.
+ the poke was good
+ I ordered a New York sour. It was good
- the steak was not great, the mushrooms were pretty blend.
- the dessert was not bad, but nothing memorable.
- overall it’s not even that I was not impressed, but I had the same feeling than when I get out of a steakhouse chain. It was not special. Nothing happened.
One more time, I am sorry because I really love the Ritz.
If you want a romantic experience that’s great. This is the place for that. If you are in your honeymoon and you are not use to Hawaii, you should go and order the usual poke, fish entrees!
If you are use to nice places, use to Hawaii, restaurants on the beach in Barcelona or Thailand, etc. Don’t waste your time.
Good food. Small menu. Great service. Missing 5 star flavors and especially on almond cake which should be warmed slightly. Ask for extra curry on the side with your fish. Curry on seafood was overly diluted and thin. Considering prices here it missed the boat. Will try again next time.
The food here was quite exceptional, particularly the ceviche! I had a kampachi main course which was quite tasty as well. The drinks were very good. The prices overall were on the higher end. The location was very nice, overlooking a view of the ocean. The servers were great and very friendly.
5 stars all the way around! We had the most amazing experience here! Starting with the most wonderful table with an ocean view and surrounded by fireplaces. My husband and I ordered both the steaks available (Ribeye and Filet Mignon) and they were both fabulous and full of flavor. The Tempranillo paired well with the steak as well as the banana foster dessert. Do not leave without ordering that dessert! It was the best dessert ever! Special thanks to our server Jef and the hostesses for seating us at the best table! We look forward to celebrating again here.
At the end of the meal I turned to my wife and said , “The food here was exceptional!” And she completely agreed.
The only caveat that I have is that the day we visited the restaurant the state was under a wind advisory and it was VERY WINDY.
Our hostess that seated us was named Ann and she seated us right in the windiest area outside. We asked for a seat out of the wind and pointed to an empty table. She told us that was for a party of 15 that was coming in. So much for Ritz-Carlton customer service.
When we got to our appetizer they seated someone at that same table. Our server Luke was very kind and moved us into a much less windy location.
Back to the meal…. My wife ordered the Hamakua Mushroom Arancini and I ordered the Coconut Shrimp Ceviche. Both were fantastic. Perfect balance of flavor and texture.
Her main was the Coconut Red Curry Seafood and mine was the filet.
The seafood dish was delicious and my steak was cooked to perfection. Both are highly recommended.
We had the Ba-Nan-Yan’s Foster for desert. The banana had a nice carmelized layer on it and the malasada was perfectly fried. Add some macadamia ice cream and macadamias and it was such a beautifully delicious dessert.
Other than the weather and Ann the “not so Ritz-Carlton” hostess everything was great.
Had a delightful dinner with friends at Banyan tree Jan 6th. The setting is very Hawaiian. None of my pictures do it justice. Service was attentive and helpful. Perfect. The food was all prepared to
perfection. The steak was unbelievable. The grill flavor was great and it was properly cooked to medium rare - exactly as I requested. We will be back on our next trip. You won’t be disappointed. I am a 4 million mile flyer and have eaten at countless restaurants - I will remember our evening at Banyan Tree.
Wonderful outdoor atmosphere and friendly service. The poke appetizer was delicious as was the rest of the meal. We had the catch of the day (mahi) and the lobster ravioli followed by the bananas foster for dessert. Get sunset reservations for the most beautiful painted sky while you dine!
Lovely, just beautiful setting with loads of green foliage everywhere you look. There are views of the ocean. The food is as you would expect for fine dining but not outstanding. The prices are high possibly because you are on the Ritz Carlton property.
Loved the bar.
Had an unforgettable anniversary dinner! Warm friendly service, delicious food with unique components. Sat at a private table on outdoor patio with a fire pit for sunset, amazing!
Wow, the magazine in the hotel named this as “most romantic restaurant” and they weren’t kidding! We got *the best* seat in the house, outside in a little nook with torches surrounding us, and the service was superb! Every dish we ordered seemed to get better and better. There’s a gorgeous photo op at in front of the trees just outside the front desk - ask the hostess.
We got the seasonal snapper (opakapaka) and wagyu filet. We also enjoyed the chicken kabob with different flavored salts we can add. The banan-yan fosters dessert was also quite the experience!
Had a fantastic dinner experience at this restaurant on my birthday. We went early (5pm) because that was the only time we could get a reservation. Ate outside on the patio. Incredibly beautiful view of the ocean. The food was spectacular — I had cioppino and my friend had the fresh catch. Good wine. We didn’t drink cocktails, but the cocktails at other tables looked amazing! Excellent service, and they gave us free desert since it was my birthday dinner. Only thing that wasn’t great was the prices, but that was fine as it was a special occasion, and the serving sizes are generous. Thanks for a beautiful evening!
Stayed at the Ritz and the concierge recommended the Banyan Tree. My wife tried the short rib and I tried the seafood curry and it was mouth watering. Our server Luke was very knowledgeable and gave us excellent service.
