My wife and I had a one night getaway. When you live on the Southside it’s hard to make it up north. After a day of surfing at Hanalei(waves were nice) we built up an appetite. We were ready to crush some food. Gabe had told me about the aged barrel bourbon mescal Manhattan and it was so unique and tasty. We crushed the Scottish egg and Truffle fries. Seriously there was barely any dipping sauce left. Then we shared the bone in Ribeye with a season slab of butter or cheese spread. Whatever it was it didn’t last. It has a great atmosphere and is a must if you want a classy intimate date night. Definitely make reservations and be hungry for some great food and drinks.

Wow! We were super fortunate that we were able to eat here as walk-ins tonight! We showed up right at opening, so thankfully they had a couple of tables available after seating their first reservations. This place fills up quickly, and we could see why! Our food was absolutely amazing! Everything was expertly prepared and cooked to perfection. We tried the wings and fried green tomato appetizers, duck breast as well as short rib burger main courses, and lilikoi creme brulee and bread pudding dessrts. Sounds like standard fare for the area, but they were very uniquely constructed and over-the-top flavorful! Highly recommend this restaurant, but make sure to secure your reservation well in advance! Best meal we've had on Kauai thus far!

The cocktails are amazing as always. My husband and I loved going to Avalon when they were located in Wailua. The menu has been changed but the quality and uniqueness has not. The new location has a wonderful outdoorsy repurposed aesthetic going. The plates really brought in that countryside vibe which I liked. Lighting was great - we could clearly see what we were eating. They are quite busy so I recommend folks to plan ahead. Despite that our waitress always checked in on us with a big beautiful smile and chipper attitude. Avalon is a top shelf booze place with the creativity to make it worth your time to drop by. My husband loves his dark liquor cocktails whereas I love my gin. We aren't disappointed with what they do with their liquors. I especially love their chamomile infused gin based drinks. While they no longer have a Beyond Burger patty in their entré list, they have greatly expanded their appetizers. There were a lot of veggies that helped fill me up as a vegetarian. The portion sizes are smaller but each bite had ample amount of flavor. The desert was fantastic. I was able to get the cheesecake without the candied bacon which is a plus as a vegetarian. The desert cocktails were delicious too! All in all, it was a pleasant evening dining out eating foods and drinking cocktails that isn't easily made at home. It's that exact aspect that Avalon has that makes the trip and price worth it. * If they ever add a vegetarian entre I will update my review or make a new one.

The food is phenomenal. This was our first meal after arriving and it certainly did not disappoint. Those smoked wings are the best wings we've ever had, even eaten without sauce. We're from NC, we know good BBQ and smoked meats, and those wings definitely set the bar high. The ono fish and chips were exactly what we've been looking for on the islands. They were fresh and the batter was tasty. The flourless chocolate cake and PB ice cream just ends the meal with the perfect finish. The whiskey mai tai is a twist on the traditional, but it was also a great drink. Highly recommend Avalon if you're on the island. Just be sure to make a reservation just in case.

Avalon Gastropub wouldn’t be out of place in any major metropolitan city, it’s an incredible find in laid-back Kauai. Their food is excellent and their whiskey selection is enviable, with some real rarities available. Take your time to seek it out, make the drive. You won’t be sorry.

I would highly recommend a meal at Avalon while in Kauai! We had the scotch egg, Asian tacos, truffle fries, fried brussel sprouts, pot pie of the day (turkey, carrots, bechamel, mashed potatoes), and deep fried brioche bread pudding. The Asian tacos were my least favorite but everything else was outstanding. They definitely seemed short staffed but the food was worth the wait. We got there at around 5/6 pm on a Wednesday and were able to get outdoor seating. However, it got busier as the evening progressed and it seemed like reservations were needed for eating later in the evening. Definitely worth a visit!

Hands down best restaurant on Kauai. Great drinks amazing reasonably priced food. Easily way better than any restaurant we have tried. Tried all the recommendations and can’t believe nobody recommended this place. What a gem. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys quality food and at the same prices many other restaurants charge for their terrible burgers or what not on the island.

The food was actually very good. I gave 4 instead of 5 stars for two reasons. 1.) The garlic on the garlic fries was slightly burnt 2.) Just for having the Impossible Burger on the menu. I’m a vegetarian and I consider the Impossible burger to be an insult to both meat eaters and vegetarians. The Impossible burger is toxic waste that does not belong at a high end restaurant like this. On the upside my salad was delicious and I had the whiskey favored bread and butter pudding for dessert which was outstanding. My brother had Mahi Mahi fish which he found very good. Our server was attractive, friendly and very professional. The place has a great atmosphere and it was a memorable dinner.

I don’t think I can say enough how great this place is. Food, drinks, whiskey and dessert are all great. If you are a whiskey lover this is a nice change of pace from all the tropical drinks you will likely get on the island everywhere else. Gabe and Ali are the owners. They really know their stuff and strive to give you an excellent experience every time. Pub steak is excellent and comes with a chipotle butter which is bomb. They also usually have some specials which are really good as well (pic attached is a bomb pork chop). For dessert we always did the sticky toffee pudding and if you have been to any Gordon Ramsey restaurant this gives it a run for their money. We went a couple times when staying in Kapaa and went when we were staying at the Grand Hyatt even though it’s a little farther from there. This place is that GOOD! Will 100% go back every time we are back on Kauai.

Great new restaurant! Friendly service. Don’t miss the sticky toffee pudding or brioche bread pudding for dessert. Also enjoyed the grilled romaine salad.
