Review Waipouli Delicatessen & Restaurant - Kapaa

Really does have the mom and pop feel with great tasting food. Our family with a 5 and 7 year old shared two combo plates. Comfort food at its finest. I would have preferred mac salad without potatoes, but that’s just personal preference.

Amazing food no matter what you order. It’s really popular by locals and visitors so the sit down waiting time can take a moment. Due to high volumes, the staff can’t accommodate every table at once. So please be patient as they are doing their best.

Sunday morning 830 no wait. Only saw locals there. Macnut Pancakes were very good. I would come back for those. The Saimin was ok not too much flavor. Veggie omelet plate was good. Order and pay at the counter when you walk in then sit down at a table. Fast service which was great because we needed to get to our tour.

Staff were friendly and food serving was generous amount. I ordered loco moco and ono with friends rice. Liked Ono with fried rice much more than Loco moco. Food were not greasy like other restraunts in (L&L restraunt Loco moco is really greasy). They had wide variety of local Hawaiian delights at reasonable price. I got my food between 5 to 8 minutes. I also had Blueberry Cheese cake. Did not really like it though as there was more whip cream than cheese. Place was clean and cool. I went around 1120hrs and it was half capacity occupancy. I'd imagine lunch time and dinner should be packed as food is really food. Pretty good place to dine over shadowed by McDonalds. I will be going again and would recommend this place to anyone.

Been here for breakfast and lunch many times. Good food, complex menu, best to look it over online before going in. If you are a visitor, this is your chance to experience local food, order something with a name you are not familiar with :) The service is good, but I prefer takeaway, you are about five hundred yards from Waipoli Beach and Fuji Beach, (also called Baby Beach). Might as well have your plate lunch with an ocean view.

Interesting take on a breakfast diner. You order and pay at the counter upon walking in, and your food comes just a couple minutes after sitting at the table. The place isn't huge so it seems like they emphasize getting you in and out ASAP. There's no waiting for coffee refills since they give you a fresh pot. There's no waiting for a check since you pay in advance. The portions aren't big, but the prices reflect that. If you're a big boy I recommend the breakfast special and a side.

The food and service is always great. I love the pork tofu 😋 it's always delicious. The workers are always happy 😊 The grandson of the owner can make everyone feel at home.

Great local place recommended to us by a local. This is the place to go if you're looking for legit Hawaiian food. Expansive menu impossible to choose, so we were recommended the Oriental platter and the Pick Two platter. $36 total for two larger dinner platters, no drinks nor dessert, including tax. Credit cards ARE accepted, with 3.7% fee. Last 30 mins are takeout only. We will be back!

What a wonderful local place! We had the Super Saimin Noodle Soup. Noodles are handmade by the mom in the family who's been doing this here for 45 years!! Great broth, each meat was nicely cooked. And the potato Mac was a great side dish! Perfect lunch for 2

I’ve been following Waipouli Deli in Kappa’a Kauai for a long time now that I’m on Kauai Island my wife and I have been to this restaurant for breakfast and dinner several times the foods are good and family friendly service the Shrimp Tempura and rice very good at dinner the macadamia nut pancakes are a favorite but the fried rice omlett was very good also eggs pancakes and bacon special is a great choice I haven’t found anything I don’t like but I haven’t tried everything on the menu. Family run Restaurant that the locals keep secret.

Went there for breakfast on a weekday around 9am and got in right away. The service was good and seemed like a place run by locals and for locals, which is cool. The portions were generous and tasty. We couldn’t decide between banana and macnut pancakes, so we got some of each and both were good!

Very local, friendly and a huge menu. Large pictures on the wall help you choose. Old school and authentic family owned spot in a strip mall near Safeway. Great for breakfast!

No frill restaurant with dine in and take out. Order at the counter before seating. Really great selection of breakfast food (sweet and savory options), Hawaiian food, rice plates, noodles etc. Came in for breakfast and got the corned beef hash. Was not what I was expecting as they were deep fried patties, but it was delicious! After tax it was under $16. Will definitely be coming back!

We ordered a curry chicken, wanton soup (don’t remember what’s their name on the menu lol) and a home made ube vanilla ice cream. Huge portion dishes and great price for the food that being offered. Also a lot of local people here dinning. -1 star for the flavor.

Delicious home style food at great prices. Loco moco bowl only $7.99 + $.99 for fried rice. Great deal 😊

We were so happy to find this gem in Kauai, serving home cooked food and so close to our hotel near the royal coconut grove (walking distance from the Marriott Courtyard). We had the macadamia nut/ banana pancakes and Portuguese sausage breakfast specials, both under $10. The pancakes were absolutely wonderful, fluffy and sweet. Husband really liked his breakfast too, meat was grilled perfectly. The service was quick and friendly, and if you order coffee they bring you your own little pot. Very reasonable prices, probably the best on the island for breakfast. There seemed to be a lot of locals dining, which is always a good sign. We plan to come back and check out the plate lunch specials. It is a cash only establishment, but there is an ATM right out side. Give this place a try, especially if you are looking for good local flavors and want to step outside of your standard hotel breakfast options. You won’t be disappointed!
