My daughter made us last minute reservations and we were glad that we could get an early dinner reservation at 5:30. We were there early and the line grew quickly. We were glad to have been seated immediately and our appetizers were ready within 10-15 minutes. Each time we added to our order, we had a very minimal wait time. We came with our appetites that we had forgotten to take pictures of some of our dishes that we ordered.
Definitely need to come again and try some other dishes that we didn't get to order.
All in all we had a great time there.
This place exceeded my expectations. it was an amazing experience! The calamari was perfectly cooked and had a great flavor. The California roll was fresh and delicious, and the Bali Hai Bomb sushi roll was simply amazing! The service was excellent and the atmosphere was very inviting. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious Japanese cuisine. Definitely a 5-star experience!"
Great environment. Excellent sushi. All fish is fresh. Gotta try the green tea mud pie. A local fave. Reservations are recommended ahead especially on the weekends and special occasions. Parking is tight of busy so go early.
Lots of people with lots of noise (sort of like a bar atmosphere). I prefer a more intimate setting but the food and service was good.
Walked in at 6pm on a Monday without a reservation but able to dine at the bar. Bar tender and wait staff super busy but friendly and helpful. LOVED the lychee sake and lemon drop cocktail. My son couldn't get enough miso soup. Good value for delicious, well-prepared fresh meal. Stuffed but took home a slice of lovely green tea mud pie.
Great food, super fresh fish, ok prices. First time I went back since Kintaro reoppened. The tables and chairs felt somewhat industrial and the place was noisier and not as "intimate" as I recalled. A bit hard to hold a conversation. Still, one of the better places to eat on the island.
Recommend by a local. Such good food! We really enjoyed sitting at the sushi bar and we look forward to returning!
We made a reservation for the teppenyaki experience while we were staying on Kauai and we were so impressed that we made another reservation to do it all over again a few days later.
The filet mignon and lobster dinner was incredible! We had a different chef each night (Tosh and Torin, I am not sure about spelling) and they were both just lovely. My husband and I shared the dinner each time because you do get a large amount of food. Although, we are from Canada and notice that portions are a lot larger in the US.
I also tried the sushi the first night and while it is very good, I think the star of the show is the teppenyaki meals. I would highly recommend making a reservation for it.
Cocktails were also great and considering how many of those we had and how much good quality food we ate the price was reasonable. If we ever revisit Kauai we will definitely be back!
We were told that it was the best place on the island for sushi. It did not disappoint, our food was amazing and our server Irene was great. We did not have reservations but got there early enough that we got a seat at the bar. If you will be in the Kapa'a area when they are open we highly recommend making an effort to go here. We were a party of two and got there when they opened so we got in I would recommend getting reservations for larger parties or if you plan to be there later in the evening. It is a very popular spot with everyone locals and vacationers
My daughter made last minute reservations for us and we're glad that we were able to get the time that we did. We ordered alot of appetizers and several sushi 🍣 rolls and everything was delicious. So much food that we weren't able to have dessert.
We'll definitely return again and try other sushi 🍣 that we didn't get to try.
Amazing food and fresh, quality sushi. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling to Kauai!
The new renovations are so nice!!! They have the best Japanese food in the area. I had the shrimp tempura and the dinner plate “A” with the steak and salmon and salad. The meat was so tender and the sauce was the best! I forgot to take pics because I was so anxious to eat. We had the “green tea mud pie” for dessert which was something different that I absolutely love! Will be returning soon!
This is one of the island's favorite restaurants. They don't disappoint, food is excellent, the staff is always friendly.
Great sushi, and wife had the steak she said was great also. Quickest service I saw on the island!
