Wow totally impressed by the taste and quality of food. The service was surprisingly really fast, it only took about 10 minutes to get our food. There were 5 families ahead of us but the line was moving fast and we were able to get our order In within 10 minutes. We ordered calamari, lava fries, Mahi Mahi with rice, fish tacos, fish and chips. Everything was super ONO! Fish and chips were really good very juicy and tender, Lava fries were adult favorites cus spicy but my kids ate everything so it was a hit for us. I personally loved fish tacos, the mangoes made it taste so damn good, Will definitely come back!

My wife and I ate here on two different occasions. The first time, we ordered the famous fish tacos which were AMAZING. Second time, she got the taco bowl with fish and I got the macadamia nut crested mahi mahi, which was delicious. The sauce they use is phenomenal. Highly recommend when in Kauai!

Four of us had lunch there. Two of us rated the place five stars and two of us said four stars. Everyone enjoyed their meal, except me. My complaint was the fish in the Fish & Chips plate was overcooked and dried out. The french fries were fair at best. For the price they should have been better. Ambience was fun. Surf boards for table tops and chairs. Surfing was being broadcast on all of the large screen TVs. The staff was friendly.

Coconuts fish cafe is amazing. There was a short line but they got through everyone pretty quickly. The menu offers all sorts of great Hawaiian food options. I went with the fish tacos and they are loaded with goodness. Prices are around $15 per entree so for a family of four it was around $80 including drinks. It was worth every penny though as the food was mouth-watering delicious. This is a must visit restaurant.

Very good first visit. First off the staff were all helpful, friendly and hard working. (This is not the case many places.) The were consistently bussing tables, cleaning, delivering food, and checking with guests to make sure things were OK. You order as you walk in and find a seat after. The lady at the register was helpful and informative. My wife wanted fish tacos- *(usually my go to but I had them the day before). I almost ordered grilled fish on rice, then noticed that the same grilled fish can be a sandwich. I got an Ono sandwich and fries as it was lunch. We also got a appetizer of calamari. The calamari came out quickly and was hot and fresh. Good marinara sauce for dipping. Really good. The fish tacos were huge and nearly impossible to eat. They were a popular dish here, many people were eating them. Many ate them like a salad rather than a taco. My wife ate them as both, with a fork till she could hold the tortilla. She really liked the mango salsa. My Ono fish sandwich had a huge piece of Ono on it, with blackened spices on it. I couldn't tell if the bun was brioche or challah bread- dense but still soft. It came with slaw, tomato, a sprinkling of shredded cheese and tarter sauce. Really good as I ate it all. For description the tarter sauce is in between a normal tarter and ranch. So we were very happy with our meal. Price is half of what you would pay with an ocean view, so eating good food in a strip mall is worth it. That's my reason for 4 stars. Not a dig or problem, but i don't want to give the impression that this is a high end Hawaiian place. What they are is a fair price, really good fresh fish restaurant, in a strip shopping center that you can take the whole family too. Great job!

Excellent coconut shrimp! Tacos are good too but deserve better tortillas! I only say that because I’m a tortilla conniseur! Also, loved the spicy poke bowl!

Alas, it was almost time to leave Kauai so on the way to the airport, we looked for one more meal before leaving this island. An internet search gave us Coconut's Fish Cafe on the way to the airport. What a great stop it turned out to be in the middle of the afternoon. The service was great and the food was just as good. The Coconut Shrimp appetizer was easily the star of the meal. Moist, tender and super crunchy crust. The seafood chowder was chocked full of delicious chunks of seafood and potato. The Fish and Chips came with 2 types of fish -- Mahi Mahi and Ono. Really good is the only way to describe it. Again, the fish was fresh and moist and sat nicely inside crisp coating. To say that we were sad to leave is an understatement. As our plane lifted off the runway, we could only dream of when we can be back. If you are in the neighbourhood, don't even blink before making the decision to check out Coconut's Fish Cafe.

Went here twice on my trip to Kauai and loved it both times! Got the fish tacos the first time, which were so fresh. So many flavors! The second time I went, I got the fish and chips. Loved how crispy the outside was and soft and decadent the fish was in the middle. My family also loved what they got which included the seared ahi, fries, and mahi mahi.

Very good food for the price. Great service! My only complaint was that the coconut shrimp was over cooked and I wish it had been served with a coconut sauce to match. Otherwise, everything was really good.

Good place. We ordered fish tacos and chowder, all very good. The tacos are huge and fall apart, but they did warn us. Also have good beer on tap! The thing I remember most about this restaurant is that the employees really seemed to care that we had a good experience and care about the restaurant. They took time to describe the menu and make recommendations, and were busy cleaning the place and checking on us when there wasn't anyone in line. We had a pet chicken for our meal, apparently this one liked eating lemon wedges.

I had the macadamia crusted mahi-mahi, my wife had the fish tacos which the lady at the front desk says is their best. Then I ordered the organic coconut water, it was quite good. Our party ordered Coconut Shrimp, which the lady taking orders said was her favorite. She said the two most popular were fish and chips and fish tacos.

Best fish tacos I've ever had. The pulled pork taco was a very close 2nd. We also got the Coconut shrimp and Spicy Ahi Poke' and loved it. We will return here before we leave. Outstanding food!

So good! Awesome staff! The guy who took our order and the one who delivered food both took the time to tell us about the the fish-what flavors and textures etc. The food was awesome and the restaurant is very clean. Slightly overpriced, but still a pretty cheap meal for Kauai.

GREAT ! ! Very clean, modern, bright restaurant to eat Great Fish, Shrimp and such. Good kids menu. Great decor and staff were very pleasant and helpful! Staff continually cleaning up and wiping down, not only tables, also condiment selection/bottles etc. Hats off to this establishment. Hidden in the Kauai village shopping center

We had spent a long day sightseeing and decided we wanted fish tacos. We are leary of food trucks and this fit the bill perfectly. We tried fish, chicken and Kahlua pork tacos and a basket of fries. The fish was not battered and so flavorful. The Kahlua pork was also very good. Chicken was good too. Fries tasty. We had draft beers as the perfect accompaniment.

They have great fish tacos and a really good veggie taco. Everyone got something they wanted and enjoyed. It’s a great pick for a good lunch spot.

Volcano fries were amazing. Greeted by friendly staff when we entered who explained the menu and what Coconut' is all about. The fish tacos are packed with everything you can possibly imagine. The fish and chips were great to try the different options. Love the surfboard tables, a nice touch for a great spot.

Great food at reasonable prices! Five stars except for the service; maybe our group of 15 overwhelmed them…not the friendliest around 😎🙏😇 great tacos and shrimp and salad…super watchful for masks, except for the employees that don’t have to wear them?!

so yummy we ended up going twice!! We love the coconut shrimp and *especially* the sauce. Our favorite fish was the macadamia nut crushed Mahi, but the blacked and cajun mahi were good too! (The lemon butter mahi was ok but not as flavorful as the other ones, and the tacos weren't our favorite).
