Review Moti Mahal - Kansas City

We are here for national meeting at Embassy suite. And was in the mood for Indian. Moti Mahal did not disappoint. Food was flavorful garlic naan was nicely done. I asked for spicy on the 8 scale out of 10. To me it was not too spicy. But the onion/chilie/lemon salad I asked for was wrapped and the chilies in there were spicy. I think they were Serano peppers.. but hit the spicy mark for me. Definitely went back in town. I will order for Moti Mahal. I called them for a question, and they were very polite, and took the time to answer my questions.

Even though I was the only one dining in. Quite a few came in to get their to go orders. The food to me was enough for a 2nd or 3rd meal. The chicken was tender, the sauce...my God I could happily drown in it. The Naan was both tender and crunchy. Except for a bit of sauce falling onto the white of my blouse; the whole experience was one of absolute pleasure.

My new favorite for Indian food north of the river,the lentil soup was great lentils were tender with a wonderful savory broth, onion kulcha was great the chicken tikka saag was delicious, then did the Gulab Jamun(dried milk and cheese deep fried in sweetened rose water)and the rice pudding, great food, service and atmosphere.

On way back from MCI Airport stopped at this place for Family dinner. Food was fresh and perfectly spiced. Great Veg and Non Veg options for Indian food lover. Great staff and personalized service. I will definitely recommend this place.

Moti Mahal was great it was a nice restaurantwith some amazing Indian art. The Naan was amazing and the best we have had from any restaurant. 😍 We decided to try 2 different types one garlic and the other cheese. It was like it was made fresh just for us, right out of the oven and wonderful! We also ended up getting 2 dishes: mild chicken Tikka masala and a medium chicken vindaloo. They were both great the chicken vindaloo was spicy and got my face a little pink but I could not stop eating it then I would switch to the Tikka masala and give my mouth a little break. The service was great they filled my water cup 3 times 😆 🤣 just a little spicy for me but I would do it again!! With the two of us eating till we were crazy full we still had enough food left over for lunch the next day. This was a great experience and a wonderful date evening. Everyone was very relaxed and it was nice to just sit and have a conversation outside of the house without kids and not be rushed out.

Love Moti Mahal! Typically get the butter chicken with garlic and onion naan - my favorite! However, recently we tried the tandoori chicken - excellent! Moist chicken that is amazingly seasoned - not spicy at all! Today I tried the potato and pea pratha - yummy! I don't like rice so I typically pour my butter chicken over the naan to eat. Today, poured it over the pratha and it was excellent. I spent about 40 dollars today, and this will easily be at least 3 meals - and that is without the rice, with rice I bet it would be at least 4.

I got yellow dal, basmati rice, and garlic naan from doordash. It was still flamming hot when it got to me. The portions are quite large and the food is delicious. You definitely get your money's worth. I had food enough for lunch, dinner, and a snack. I will definitely be ordering again! :)

Chicken tikka masala is always on point, vindaloo is perfectly spiced, chicken & veggie samosas are my favorites

The food is great. I give it 4 out of five because the to go side of there buisness really takes away from the dining experience. People are always coming in and out and we waited close to 35 to 40 minutes for our dishes. With 3 other parties seated before us. The butter chicken was great...and the chicken vindaloo was very spicey as asked for and my boy loved the byriaani. And it looks as though the buffet will be out for a while.

This place is amazing!! If you love Indian food, you will love their food! Great atmosphere and staff!

Scratch one more place off the bucket list! Add one more cuisine to the experience list. Tonight, for the first time I tried Indian cuisine. I’ve driven by this place since it opened countless times, but I never stopped. Tonight, I stopped. I’m talking about Moti Mahal on Barry Rd. by I-29. I know nothing about Indian cuisine. Tonight, I found out how delicious it is. Looking over the menu I find a section named Ghost. Oh, great, they serve haunted food! But in fact, Ghost, is Lamb. When someone mentions lamb, I get weak at the knees and start to purr! They offer lamb in five different dishes. I chose Lamb Masala, tender, boneless lamb prepared in a tandoor clay oven with rich Indian spices in a thick delicious sauce. This dish can be prepared plain, mild, or spicy. I chose spicy! I also ordered Garlic Naan bread and a cold beer. Sitting back, I wait patiently for my food to arrive. A few minutes later they bring out a large plate, a bowl of rice, a bowl of Masala Lamb and a basket of Naan. While contemplating how much rice to put on the plate, I break off a piece of the bread and take a bite. It was thin and warm with a good taste of garlic. There were slightly charred areas adding another flavor to the taste. And then there is the Lamb Masala! Big, tender chunks of lamb in a thick, rich, delicious sauce. Throwing some rice on the plate and covering it with the Masala, I dig in! What a great first experience of Indian cuisine! Well Done Moti Mahal! Well Done Indeed!

This place is fantastic. I wasn’t there on buffet day but the food was unbelievable. So delicious. I just happened to pass it and saw some hole in the wall Indian place and thought it was worth a try and I’m glad I did. I highly recommend.

Stopped in for my normal service and on my way out I grabbed a order of butter chicken and I was blown away by the taste of the sauce and the tenderness of the chicken will definitely be coming back 😋

Probably the best Indian food I've ever had (out of at least 9 different indian restaurants, some recommended by Indian immigrants). Their Chicken Tikka Masala is definitely the best, very rich and creamy. Have ordered from them several times in as many weeks since discovering them. Only been for dinner but it's nice and quiet dining in. Good service for takeout.

Met my girlfriend who had a brief layover and we accidentally found this place. We only wanted coffee but ended up with Chai. We didn’t have time to eat, but the food appeared good and the place was crowded. Our Chai was perfect and we both were disappointed we didn’t have more time for a meal. However, I will factor time before my flight or after to visit again. It’s nestled in a strip mall but don’t let that be a detour.

Their Buffet menu is awesome. You will find more varieties of Indian cuisine and will enjoy it. Guest service and staff is friendly. Interior atmosphere is ok and not very maintained.

Moti Majal's lunch buffet was exceptionally good, varied and incredibly cheap when I stopped by Saturday to try them out around 12:45. The place is not huge, maybe seats about 35-40 people max, and there were a few other diners there for the lunch buffet which they offer everyday. I was quickly seated and given water, a mango lassi, and fresh baked naan which came out about 5 minutes later, freshly baked. The buffet offered a good selection and included a self serve chai station. The chai was excellent, creamy and will spiced. I had several cups. On the menu today was butter chicken, beef korma, goat curry, tandoori chicken, saag paneer, chicken tikka, vegetable pakoras and about 4-5 other dishes I didn't get a chance to try. Everything was deftly spiced and the goat curry was fantastic without the overwhelming gameyness I've found at other Indian restaurants. Service was nice and quick, removing empty plates quickly and refilling water immediately. For $11 this is an amazing lunch spot at a steal. I'll be ordering dinner from them soon and I hope it's just as good.
