Stopped to eat here on my way through Kansas City on a road trip back to Minnesota. This is by far one of the best sushi restaurants I have ever been to. The fish is so fresh, and the portion sizes are generous. Everything was artfully prepared and delicious. The service was warm, friendly, and attentive. I wish I lived closer so I could become a regular! Bob's will definitely be my first stop whenever I am back in the area. If you are lucky enough to live in the area and are looking for an amazing dining experience, put this restaurant at the very top of your list.
Okay, this sushi incredible! I've been searching Seattle and San Francisco for the last twenty years for amazing sushi, and this place is easily in my top five! The service was great, the appetizers were great, and the sushi was phenomenal...perfect rice, and very generous portions of very fresh, high quality fish, prepared by highly skilled chefs. Thanks to the entire staff!
Unpretentious, authentic and delicious sushi. This is one of our favorite restaurants in the Kansas City area and top pic for sushi. Bob cares about the food he prepares and each employee makes sure you have a wonderful experience each time you visit. The fish is fresh and high-quality, worth every penny!
Hands down, some of the best sushi we've had. Fresh, flavorful, and great presentation. The waitress was polite and offered great suggestions. Portions are generous, and the sushi was amazing.

Hands down the best dragon roll you will find. My wife and I have eaten at countless sushi restaurants, and nothing comes close to Bob Wasabi.
Our server was very knowledgeable and the food was fantastic. We shared the Miso Butterfish special and a TNT roll. The fish was grilled perfectly and the roll was very savory. I tried a new Sake and really enjoyed it. We'll definitely be back!

Went last night with my wife, I had the Kampachi and was the best piece of Sushi I've every had in my life I honestly just don't have the adjectives to describe how amazing I thought this piece of fish was. We also had the Baked Hamachi Roll, was nice, not my favorite thing but was well executed and ok. We also the house Saki was very nice and dumplings were very tasty. the service was well informed, attentive without being in the way. I can't wait to go back, get the roll I wanted and eat more Nigiri
Loved everything about this place. The food & service was excellent. I had the poke bowl & spicy tuna rolls. I'm hooked. Can't wait to go back.

Bob's as we so affectionately call it, is simply outstanding and NEVER disappoints. Everyone there is so helpful and friendly. We have become close with the staff and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else for sushi. Let's just say the loyalty runs deep. The loyalty is well deserved. The quality is spot on, the portions are generous, the staff and service is always on top of it and Bob himself is a hoot! Coming from San Diego and first moving here we thought it was the end of sushi, we couldn't have been more wrong. I can't say enough about Bob's it's a must go, and once you do, you'll understand why. Lastly, I hope you enjoy my food pics to show you exactly why we go!
I've been to this sushi place multiple times and have always been satisfied with food, quality, freshness of fish and their service. I always order their speciality rolls and I feel they are probably one of the best in town. Would highly recommend TNT roll, dragon roll and California roll. Probably start your meal with a miso soup and wrap it off with a red bean ice cream.
I am obsessed with this place. I am a sashimi fanatic and tried their 10 piece sashimi platter. My goodness, the fish was so fresh and generous very proportions. It came with a variety of fish; salmon, tuna, yellowtail and hibachi. I couldn’t pick my favorite, they were all so delicious, melt in your mouth and slightly chewy. I also enjoyed the miso, very heartwarming.
I got the specialty rainbow roll which was almost too pretty to eat. It had a beautiful topping of fish and was filled with crab. Very filling and delicious. The unagi roll was jam packed with flavor, and one of my favorites. Can’t wait to try their other speciality rolls, highly recommend. Service is phenomenal!
I love Bob Wasabi - best sushi joint in town. Unassuming but spectacular. They have REALLY generous portions of REALLY good fish. Service is always top notch and they repeatedly have some of the best health and cleanliness ratings of all the restaurants in town. If I'm choosing a sushi place, this is the only one I go to.
PS - be sure to ask what the off-menu specials are. I recommend the sweet shrimp.
Great sushi place. Their menu is seems small which usually indicates quality. If you don't enjoy raw fish this is probably not the right restaurant for you.
Good sized portions which makes the price worthwhile. Very fresh sashimi. I got a chirashi bowl and the slices were quite large for all the different kinds in the bowl, refreshing to have a sushi restaurant not skimp.
I've been to Tokyo and a myriad of Japanese restaurants around the country. Very impressed with the quality offered here in the midwest. At least in KC so far, this will be my go to for real sushi.

I love sushi, and I now love "Bob Wasabi Kitchen" too. Kansas City is really progressing with so many sushi locations. Bob Wasabi Kitchen is a true local gem that shines so bright it is a "must visit" location. Make sure to go early and find parking as the area has a lot of attractions. It is worth the wait and worth the price. Your tastebuds will love you.
Best sushi in town. After reading an article about how Bob Wasabi Kitchen gets its fish so fresh in The Star, I tried it and loved it. You really can taste the quality here.
I like this place a lot. Completely unpretentious and the sushi is among the best I've tasted in KC. I tried spicy scallops, tuna, Saba, smoked salmon, and unagi (eel). All of it was delicious. Next time I go back I'll try the uni (sea urchin) which is a focussed test on a sushi restaurant's quality.
Bob has not only mastered the craft of preparing sushi but also that of making you feel welcomed and valued as a customer! My wife and I love Bob's so much. Favorite sushi joint in town. We vacationed to Japan last year and went to several authentic sushi restaurants. We left Japan feeling blessed to have Bob's so close to home because he beat out every single one of the places we tried there. I ain't kidding! reasonable prices. Incredible food. Great atmosphere. Try Bob's. You'll love it!
You can not experience any better sushi or nagari in Kansas city. Bob's Wasabi is the pinnacle experience locally. The price you pay will be represented to you with upmost care and experience. I will always use Bob's as a place to compare all others to his standards of top shelf quality. Thank you Bob and his incredible staff of the consistent experience.
I've enjoyed all types of sushi from the grocery store 6 pack to the organic sustainable only catch of the day stuff but Bob Wasabi is my #1. High quality fish in a relaxed and unpretentious environment. There may not be a million rolls to choose from but the portions are healthy and the fish fresh. Highlights are the seaweed salad, poke, and any of the chefs specials. Let Bob decide whats best for you!
Hands down best sushi in kc! A bit pricey but u get what u pay for. Will deffinelty go back to try other rolls. Food came quickly and service was top-notch do yourself a favor and stop by and try it for yourself you won't me disappointed.
had the smoked saki (salmon) nigiri (very large pieces), the baked scallops , and a sushi roll. All of it was excellent. The waitress was really nice, and very helpful with suggestions.

Amazing food, the atmosphere and food both felt very Japanese and very authentic. It may seem a bit pricey compared to other places, but the quality and quantity that you get both make up for it.
