Always a treat. My one definite stop when visiting Kansas City.
The service is always excellent. The ambiance pleasant, especially the garden in the springtime. And the food quality impeccable.
I am limited in what I can eat and love that there are always gluten free options that never taste like they were compromised. Specifically for dessert, many restaurants try to pass off sorbet as the gluten free dessert option but Lidia's always has at least one gluten free dessert that is carefully thought out and prepared that you never guess was gluten free.
I cannot say enough great things about this place! Wonderful food, atmosphere and service! Ask for Pete the waiter. He was so attentive and was great with my daughters dietary needs. Will be back very soon! Also the Sunday is brunch is spectacular!
Marvelous food and service! The server was patient with me as I selected a wine choice to go with our meal. The traditional Thanksgiving meal was excellent with the stuffing seasoned perfectly. I loved the desert cookies and cakes in their little portions where the four of us in our party could try each one.
Chef Dan, Terra and team catered a meal for 300+ guests for us at KCC and did an amazing job! The food was outstanding and the service was great! Chef Dan's attention to detail and staff's efficiency was top notch! Would highly recommend them for your next event! Thank you Lidias!

I've never felt so much hospitality or so full! Had the Porcetta and braised greens. Comfort food at its finest. My cocktail was delicious and the service was stellar! One of my favorite places in Kansas City.
Great service, amazing Wine chosen by our server with awesome food. The risotto with lobster and heirloom tomatoes. The atmosphere was dark but classy. Too bad Lydia couldn't join us!
This place is phenomenal! The food is beyond wonderful and the service is beyond compare! Lidia's is a must if you are in the KC area.

Lidia's is our favorite KC restaurant. We had great food and our server, Kristen, was terrific. We started with Caprese Salad and Zucchini Fritters which were so light and the Lemon-Mint Aioli was the perfect complement. My daughter ordered Lemon Chicken, which she loved. Our friend ordered the Risotto and was delighted with her choice. I ordered the Short Rib and it was a huge rib and the beef was so tender, it was falling off the bone. Lidia's never disappoints. I just wish we lived closer!
I'm giving it 4/5 only because everything was amazing except we didn't LOVE the food. The only item we ordered that was AMAZING was the ravioli as part of the Pasta Tasting Trio. The shrimp dish tasted and smelled VERY fishy. The atmosphere, location, pricing, and our service was top-notch. But the food just wasn't fantastic.
I want to like Lidia's more than I do. It has a lot going for it, but every plus seems to come with a minus.
The food in particular can be very hit and miss. I've tried several entrees and liked many of them. Most recently I opted for the three course pasta. The Caesar salad tasted great, but the lettuce was mostly spines. The pasta was good (and certainly plentiful), but it wasn't spectacular. The berry strudel was delicious, but the pastry on the bottom was so tough I couldn't cut into it.
The decor is beautiful, but the place attracts some unpleasant customers. During my last visit, one of our fellow diners blocked the aisle and refused to move even after the staff member who was trying to seat us asked him politely several times. Nor was that an atypical experience.
At least there are no buts about the servers. Everyone who works here is friendly and efficient.
I love Lidia's! My son brought me here for my birthday and of course it was perfect! The pasta trio is a must, and I even got a special birthday dessert! The waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable, and the mood was festive! You will never be disappointed dining at Lidia's!
My experience at lidia’s was great! I came on a busy Saturday evening and had to wait a little for next available spot so I reserved it (note to self “make a reservation next time”)
Me and my wife had the pasta trio and thought it was a good variety of pastas, all very tasty.
My favorite were the desserts. I practically tried all of them including the chefs trio which were my favorite as well.
Overall the atmosphere is great the venue is phenomenal and we will be back to try some more options.
We are happy to recommend this establishment to any of our friends and family.
A big thank you to our server.
This spot is a highlight of our KC visit. We love watching Lidia on PBS and this restaurant was all that and more!!! Prices were extremely reasonable!!! Lidia needs to open a spot in Vegas. Food, atmosphere, and service were all top notch. Kenny, our server, has worked here seven years and that says so much about what a fabulous place this is. 💛💛💛
Such a lovely vibe very nice and well put the food was delicious the appetizer was crunchy on the outside and once you bite the flavor comes in. The white wine was perfect I only had to detail the kind of wine I prefer I asked no bubble white sweet wine and the one I got was amazing. Celebrated my birthday reservation is needed. It was my little family my two kids and husband. My eleven year old got the trio which was worth it for him. My three year old I got her the usual meatball with red sauce spaghetti. She wasn’t use to the spaghetti texture cz I guess I over cook it at home so it’s soft and this spaghetti is hard. The brasato was amazinggggg the meat was soft and tasty not to salty the smashed potatoes was fluffy and not too salty the veggies were on it perfect for a one person. My husband grabbed the never ending trio, he did not like the pesto pasta trio he did enjoy the other two. My husband requested candles for my desert and our waitress when out of her place she came with the 50cent birthday song that was so funny and kind. Seating was great it didn’t feel so crowded and felt as if you’re seated alone. Grab your receipt to pay for parking lot. You can also walk around.
First time. Very cool looking place but not really “cozy” Italian kind of place. Service was attentive for our group. Bartender lacked skills, but good wine options. Food was very good but not outstanding.
The food and service were amazing. We loved everything we got. This was our first time here, and I was expecting a pricy menu, but it was surprisingly reasonable. I gave the atmosphere 4 stars because the place did feel a bit crowded and laud, but that is to be expected on a Saturday evening.
When you can't get Kansas City BBQ, this is the next best thing! The atmosphere and vibe were very chill, staff were very friendly, and the food was divine! It's Lidia's recipes after all that are the star of the show here.
We started with the polipo (octopus and potato salad) and risotto pomodoro. For the entrees we went for the classics, I got the pollo al limone (chicken with lemon and capers) and my friend got the grilled salmon. We were too full for dessert, sadly. All the more reason to come back!
We have been multiple times and have never been disappointed. A great date place and a romantic place for an anniversary.
So this place is beautiful and the staff was kind… my Gnocchi was good and I got it with the Caesar salad but wanted the dressing on the side. My dressing came in two bowls one with like a paste and the other being an oil. So I mixed them together… it was okay. Normally ceases salads are my favorite but I wouldn’t get it here again. The lettuce was is really big pieces and the dressing was weird but maybe it’s because I mixed it myself. I also got the panna cotta for dessert and the ginger cookies were amazing and the panna cotta was so yummy. Sadly the nuts really needed to be toasted. They were just put on raw which just didn’t taste good with everything else. I got my dessert to go which is why it is in a to go container as for my gnocchi I forgot to take a picture before they packed it up.
The overall customer service experience was just above average. The whole dining experience was so rushed for this price point, but it was a Saturday night. However, the food and beverage we had were simply delicious, so I would come back. I think next time I would come on a week night. Also, I would recommend ordering off the menu versus the the trio of pasta offering. The pastas were good but you could tell they are made in batches.
The absolute BEST pasta bolognese I have ever eaten and the desert was amazing. Definitely a five star experience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wife and I first time there and it was amazing. The food was very tasty and well made. Had a appetizer the fried rice and cheese ball wow. Wife had pork porterhouse with fresh peas and new potatoes with cherry sauce on the pork. I had the the pork shank with season vegetables and barley amazing on both. Overall delicious meal. Will return again to try other dishes on the menu. The service was outstanding. Even got us in earlier than our original reservation time. Really amazing time.
Lidia's was amazing as always. Our server was so efficient and went above and beyond to get me a special drink not on the list. The pasta trio is the way to go. Can't wait to return for the best dessert in town!
Imagine this: ordering a pasta trio entree…and you can eat as much as you want of it because it’s UNLIMITED! 😋 For $24, you can eat unlimited samplings of the chefs daily menu at Lidia’s 🍝
Are finished all of the food on your plate but want more?? Fear not! The chefs bring out hot pans loaded with more pasta to fill your plate. Make sure to start off your meal with one of their many appetizers. Our table started with the happy hour ravioli and Fritto Misto appetizers. We also split a fresh Caesar salad along with the house bread and oil. If you still have room, end your meal with the strudel dessert!
ps: make a reservation! This is a popular spot.
Such a wonderful place! Cozy, intimate, and relaxing setting with food coming out of the kitchen reminding you of your favorite Italian grandmother! So many great selections on the menu, you'll need to come back a few times to sample them all! Outstanding waitstaff and food-runners! Our server, Annie, treated us as if we were guests in her home!
If you've ever seen people on TV at a place like this eating and melting into their seat and you thought to yourself "they're acting" ... they're NOT! This food was SO decadent and full of flavor I couldn't stop eating my take home portion while full and waiting for a take-out tray.
A member of my group ordered TWO of the SAME entrées because it was that good and they're not cheap!
The ambiance in this restaurant was very cozy and rich. There were blown glass chandeliers, back lit wine racks, high ceilings and lots of beautiful rustic decor.
Prices are a splurge• Portions are a bit small• Service was exceptional• Quality was incredible• Atmosphere was inviting•
Recommendation- Polipo Warm Octopus and Potato Salad, Capers, Black Olives, Red Onion, Frisee (GF)
