Review Willow Tree Korean Restaurant - Kailua

Walked in with my wife on a Friday night and were immediately seated. We were warned that due to high influx of takeout orders, it may be about 45 minutes till we got our food, which we were okay with. Our food definitely came faster than 45 minutes which was much appreciated. The kalbi, meat jun, spicy katsu and sides were bangin'! So ono. Service was good too. On a side note, when we got our waters, my "clean" glass had a lipstick stain on it. Pretty gross. But I love this restaurant, so I won't ding them for it. But if the owners see this review, please ensure the dishes are washed a bit better.

I haven't gone there yet yet will you evening. I've seen comments of the prices. The lunch menu prices I feel are good prices. Out her on the Westside Kapalei shopping center. The Korean restaurant prices about the same and they give out less food. I'm a cheap skate but looking at at the food it going to well worth the price. Can't wait to be there. I'll add another post once I get served. DINED THE YESTERDAY AND THE FOOD WASN'T THAT GREAT THE KALBI, MEAT JUN HAD NO FLAVOR. The meat jun needed to be marinated longer. AND THE FISH JUN HAD MORE BATTER THAN FISH.I OPED OUT ON THE MAC SALAD AND CHOOSE THE VEGGIES I HAVE MIXED FEELINGS 1-- ONE OF MY VEG WAS A MOUNTAIN IF SHREDDERED CABBAGE WITH WGAT APPEARS TO BE TOPPED OFF WITH SOME PICK SALAD DRESSING WITH A PRETTY PARSELY THING ON TOP LOOKING LIKE AT TREE. MADE ME THINK OF A VOLCANO ERUPTING. THE MALE WAITER WAS GREAT TILL HE HAD LEFT FOR THE DAY. THEN THAT YOUNG WOMEN WITH THE NOSE RING WAS NOT HELPFULLY AT ALL. SO SCRATCH THAT PLACE OFF MY LIST. I'd rather stay out here on the Westside and pay a little bit more and dine at Hannaras. Hannara KALBI ribs,teri meat,meat jun tastes so much more FLAVOREDFUL.

Great Comfort Food!! ... Lunch specials always leave lefts overs, sometimes ... the MAC Salad is one of my mom's and auntie favorite... always get it, no matter what we eating ...

Tasty ono korean restaurant located in Kailua. Service was friendly and fast. Staff are very nice. Serving portions is generous. Veggies and kimchee comes with dine in. We had the dinner special which includes kalbi, fish juhn, chicken barbeque, fried mando, spicy hot wings. Plenty parking available! Highly recommended korean restaurant.

I found so many good reviews about this place while eating the sweetest Kimchee... Meat Jun so good, we had very nice meal, one special shared was a good meal for us, pleasant and dedicated staff know how to work it!

Really great local Korean BBQ place. We came here after a long day in the sun and this place had AC and the server immediately brought cold waters. The staff here is really nice and friendly. They have a lot of the same American Korean traditional entrees such as Bulgogi and short ribs, mahi mahi or black cod. We really enjoyed eating here and food was served fairly quickly.

Great service and food! The portions are awesome, and like traditional Korean restaurants you will receive a large amount of sides free of charge. The willow tree combo had a little bit of everything from the menu, and definitely could be split between two people; highly recommend that.

Had to wait due to being short staffed but very much worth it. Food was good perfectly and the sides were diverse, fresh and yummy. One combination platter filled us both!

This was our first time trying Korean food. AMAZING! The food was fantastic. (Chicken katsu and fried mangoo.) The service was excellent. Very friendly! I wish there was a place like this back home.

All time favorite Korean restaurant. Been going for over 15 years and always enjoy the food. The kalbi is the best, but i decided to try Chicken Katsu and was also very impressed. I'm glad willow tree is still around after the pandemic that killed alot of restaurants.

Hi, I was stationed at the Marine base there, 92-95 I would eat dinner at the willow tree all the time sometimes 2-3 times a week. I just wanted to say your restaurant is the reason I love Korean food. Some of the best memories I have of Hawaii are from your restaurant. When I was down and ate there the lady that served me all made me feel like it was the best home cooked meals. Thank you.

Best Korean food ever, whenever I'm home we go and eat . Kalbi ribs my favorite. The Turnip soup is da best. If your ever in the Aikahi shopping center, by the Kaneohe Marine Corps Air Station, Stop by the Willow Tree you'll love it.

The place is outdated but the food is awesome. Some say they're a little pricey but I think it's worth the quality and the portions of food that they give. The turnip soup if very popular and a must. The kalbi is nice and meaty and very savory as all the other dishes are too... Staff very polite and works their bottoms off with quick service and always floating around the room doing refills!! Great place foe lunch or dinner...

The food was good and flavorful. The staff was nice. The place feels crammed.

The Korean appetizers are among the best on Oahu, and I rank their kimchi the very best on Oahu. Only wish is they give a little it more. We always order extra kimchi. The spicy pork on the sizzling platter is Ono!! Service is alway attentive, but wish the food would come out a little faster. There is always a wait if you get there between 6:30 and 7:30 pm...so plan on it. but definitely worth the wait and sure beats driving all the way to Honolulu for Korean food.

It's one of my favorite places to eat, when I am here in Kailua. Turnip soup is the best, fish jun, and Kim chee! All great, with friendly service.

Recommended if you miss Korean homestyle cooking!!! A light & tasty Combination Sample Platter were more than enough for two. We Recommend the Chicken Wings and the Kalbi. This is a Little Korean restaurant with delicious food. Great service and VERY GOOD menu. With so many restaurants to choose from on TripAdvisor in our location this one stand out, so we flipped a coin and went in here and glad we did. ����

Everything is always so fresh, cooked to perfection, and the service is great! You can tell food is made with LOVE! They have the BEST kimchee ever!!! Daniel LOVED the spicy chicken, and teri beef...Keita LOVED the tonkatsu, and I always love fish jun and meat jun and kimchee of course!!!
