Review Cinnamon's Restaurant - Kailua

Elizabeth Ramos
It’s a staple breakfast spot. The restaurant is super cute there’s a lot going on. They’ve got Christmas decorations up with Easter stuff and other things. Food is good, service is better. Any speciality pancake is soooo good, everything is else is decently tasty. The guava pancakes are perfect, get them. No fancy coffees just black with some creamer.

Very delicious place. I had the Moe Moe moco and it was good and had very large portions. I shared a cinnamon roll which was excellent. I had a piece of crab cake from one of my party members. The crab cake had an excellent taste.
David Teo
Crab cake Benedict was BOMB. 5/5 Korean Omelet had too many flavors going on, the kimchi was competing with the chicken and the eggs got overwhelmed. 1/5 Coffee was pretty good 3/5 Good ambiance. 4/5

Hawaiian style service. Delicious choice of food. Fresh Mahi Mahi Benedict. Kalua pork with purple yams. Macadamia nut cinnamon roll. Mediocre coffee. Our favorite new spot.

Cinnamon’s was so good! I got the Mahi Mahi eggs Benedict that was beautifully prepared with excellent Mahi Mahi and a perfect runny egg. It came with some nice crispy hashbrowns. I also got one red velvet pancake that was to die for! The rich pancake simply melted in your mouth at every bite with the cream cheese glaze on top. Definitely recommend checking this place out!

This restaurant was amazing. It was an hour wait but it was worth it. (5/5) definitely recommend to anyone that comes to Hawaii. No matter where you stay, it’s worth the drive. The service by Ara was amazing as well. She went above and beyond for us and gave lots of recommendations. I would definitely come back. I’d recommend having a conversation with your waiter/server and getting recommendations from there. If you’re from out of town, don’t order food that you can order from home.

It's always nice to come here. Such good food to choose from. Service is always good. This time, I ordered the Rustic eggs Benedict. It was so delicious.
Seb LaPoire
Ordered online and drove to pick it up. It was ready on time, perhaps even faster than anticipated since the cinnamon roll itself felt a little sad and dry. The rest of the food was pretty good, and service was fast and efficient. If I was to eat it again, I would likely dine in rather than take it out.

This time I enjoyed the pistachio pancakes. It was so moist and fluffy. I was disappointed that the iced coffee had a color like iced tea and didn't smell like coffee…

We love bringing our family here. Everything is so delicious, especially the eggs benedict. Crab cakes were my favorite. Only down side is the long wait- 30 minutes.
Jill Dahlke
Very nice employees. The wait list was about 30 min. Great breakfast food. I got the Korean omelet and it was good which tasted like a egg roll which I liked. The pancakes are big and fluffy. Bacon was crispy. I split meal and was full. Bring quarters for parking.

Cute place but the menu needs some work. We all ordered short stacks of pancakes which on the menu looked like they were the same price but apparently weren't when we got the bill. I loved the fresh ginger tea and they give you a little tea pot with more in it. The red velvet & cinnamon apple pancakes were probably the best. My carrot cake pancakes were like dry spice pancakes with dry shredded carrot on top lol. I don't recommend taking it to-go on a plate with tin foil but that's just my preference because all the sauce & toppings stick to the foil.

Delicious food, great service, cute shops to explore while you wait. Highly recommend the macadamia nut cinnamon roll!

I ate here twice while visiting ohana, and both times were amazing. I recommend the kalua pork benedict and the crab cake benedict.

It’s been a couple of years since we’ve been back here. It is still as great as we remembered it. Food, service, and the place it self. We always get their Guava Chiffon pancakes, but the runner up for us is their pistachio pancakes. Mahalo uncle for sharing the Pistachio pancakes cause now we have to get 2 different flavors next time we come back into town.

The food was fantastic, but what really stood out for us was the incredibly friendly and welcoming service. It was a great way to start our day! Our favorites were the crab cakes and cinnamon roll.

Our food came out quickly and was extremely delicious. The guava chiffon pancake is a must!!

The food here is amazing and the staff is very friendly. Went here after a sunrise hike nearby and wanted to try their famous red velvet pancakes. We were not disappointed! It was moist and fluffy, not too sweet. We also had the Moe Moe loco, a hearty rice bowl with different meats and a fried egg on top. Loved it!

We ate breakfast at Cinnamons Restaurant 4 days out of our 7 days on Oahu. Very clean restaurant and a very friendly staff. We tried something different from the menu each morning but our favorites were the hamburger moco loco and guva pancakes! Everything that we had was delicious and a fair price for being on Oahu! We would recommend this to anyone looking for a delicious breakfast and the best coffee!

Drove to this place for late breakfast after our morning hike and we were lucky to get parking just in front of the resto, were seated almost immediately too It took us time to decide on the food but finally decided on white egg Chinese omelette, red velvet pancake and crab cake, wait staff recommended it despite the imitation crabs :( and of course coffee! Red velvet was very good, omelette was too alo g with the biscuits but the crab cake was a fail -- salty and it crumbled right away :( think it's pricy for the quality. Was happy though with my coffee with refill. Hubby also bought me their coffee cup hope they do simethung about the crab cake.

We eat here every time we are over on the Windward side of the island for a function. Great after hiking, camping or the beach. I had a breakfast pot pie which was bomb delicious, the omelets are always awesome and you have to have a pancake, banana is a favorite of mine.

Everything on the menu sounds so delicious! I decided to get the Kalua Pork Egg Benedict and they did not disappoint, absolutely delicious! Every bite was tender & just melted in your mouth, I cleared the whole plate!

← Giovanni’s Aloha Shrimp Truck – Kahuku (Hawaii 2018): Overrated Shrimp Truck. Cinnamon’s Kailua (Hawaii 2018): Guava Chiffon Pancakes. Posted by pennyandrusty. During our Hawaiian vacation in May, we decided to rent a car for a couple of days and head up to the North Shore. On the first day of our road trip, we drove up to Kailua on the windward (eastern) side of Oahu and it was pouring rain so we decided to stop for breakfast at Cinnamon’s before heading to the Valley of the Temples.

Oh Cinnamon’s! How do I love thee.... let me count the ways... I love the homemade ginger ale, the delightful coffee blends, the spectacular grab cakes, the savory ribs, the crispy and delicious hash browns, the insanely fluffy and sweet guava chiffon pancakes, and the wonderful service. Oh Cinnamon’s, you’re my favorite!
Nayna Raizada
The guava chiffon pancakes from Cinnamon's were probably my favorite thing I ate in Hawaii. Unbelievably delicious. They were pretty sweet so I was glad I also ordered the half portion of the Kalua Pork Benedict, which was also really good. They had great coffee too. This place is super popular though, with a small parking lot so finding a space was definitely a hassle and we also had to wait for about 40 minutes to be seated but I would do it a million times over for more of those pancakes.

Wish I lived in Kailua so I could try more of the menu! Everything on the menu sounds so good! Loved this place even though we only got to try the pumpkin pancakes and the beef ribs both were so delicious. The ribs were so juicy and so flavoursome and the pancakes so nice, fluffy and delicious. loved the cream cheese sauce.

My cousin has been dying to take me to cinnamons cus she mentioned that the red velvet pancakes were the bomb. <br/><br/>We got there at 8am.l and waited about 15 mins before we got a table. Apparently some people have to wait over an hour to get seat.<br/><br/>Our waitress was very nice. She always refilled my coffee without even asking. Its like she read my mind.<br/><br/>I had the Mahi Mahi eggs benedict and the red velvet pancakes which we amazing!!!!<br/><br/>If you're in Kailua the u must try out cinnamons. Its the bomb!
Mary Ann
Excellent for breakfast. The ambiance is great, so cozy and the service is good. We got lucky that we didn't have to wait to be seated as the place is always busy as per my fiance. We had the loco moco and omelette with potato wedges. The food was great and was served fast.
Arissacupp
Food was great, but service was lacking. It took ten minutes to be greeted by our server and it wasn't busy. Our drinks were empty for a few minutes and she didn't ever apologize. I'd probably give them another chance-it could've just been an off day
Sym
Amazing place ! We were driving around and found this place ! Had to wait a little but totally worth it . Food servings were huge ! The best cinnamon scrolls I have ever tasted ! Also carrot cake pancakes were amazing
All Food Considered
If you can get a table without having to wait -- it's so worth it. Specialty pancakes are always a good choice, our favorite being the carrot ones with cream cheese topping. Today we did the guava chiffon while nice just a bit to sweet to start the day with. There was a small piece of crab shell in my crab cake eggs Benedict, which actually is not such a bad thing -- at least I know it was real crab. 😀
Linda
Yummalicious!!! Can be a long wait if you go after 0900. They do take reservations for parties of 8. Fantastic food at a great value - one of our favorite breakfast joints!
FoodieMelbourne
Oh My God. Melbourne cage owners who are now serving one egg. I just had the Baja eggs. Three egg scrambled eggs on corn tortilla, chicken, sour cream and salsa, with a side of potatoes. Just sooooo yummy, fresh and home cooked. $10.95. Amazing.
Papa Kav
Very good customer service. Table was ready at 0830hrs for 9 of us plus high chair. Food was fresh, hot, and delicious. We will definitely be back. Favorites of ours were the eggs Benedict, guava pancakes, and red velvet pancakes. Don't pass up the cinnamon buns.

Know What to Order. My family and I have only been twice for a reason. The first time we went the service was awful and no one really enjoyed their food. My food came out cold and under-seasoned. We decided to give it another try a couple years later and found it a lot better. Their breakfast items are better prepared than their lunch items. I highly recommend the red velvet pancakes. No matter how weird that sounds they are a MUST!
Amy
Kalua Pork Eggs Benedict was fantastic! The best EB I've had! This place is a hidden gym! Don't miss the Manoa Chocolate shop upstairs! Totally worth a stop for chocolate tasting!
MeganMon
We visited Cinnamons during our vacation an this place was amazing! The breakfast menu was unique and Delish! The pancakes are claimed to be the best on the island and so far the best I've ever had! Also the cinnamon roles are amazing!!! Suzy was a terrific server and very fast a sweet. I highly recommend!

Gross. Under-washed potatoes in the skillet fries. Piece of seafood mixed into the bacon, YUCK. Coffee is made with tap water, tastes like a desert truck stop. Waited 35 mins on a Tuesday morning for a table for 3.
Daniel DeJong
Amazing breakfast but the wait is always long. You can't make reservations and you must be present to get on the list for a table... Very inconvenient when you have small children. It is not unusual to have to wait for a hour for a table.
Lisa Smith Wright
Red velvet pancakes are dessert! Heavenly...and try the Portuguese sausage. Ono!
Emoraes6969
For Hawaii, Cinnamon's had the right price for the right amount of food.<br/><br/>Food was slightly above average in quality. But the menu had a large variety. <br/><br/>If you are in the military, make sure you print off the coupon that is on their webpage. (They won't take the image from the webpage, which is a bummer since we were on vacation.)

This is a DO NOT miss breakfast if on O'ahu! Order the S.A.N.D. (start a nice day) and ask for one guava chiffon and one red velvet pancake. Your only regret will be you'll never be able to get them anywhere else. Killa grinds!

Worth the Wait. We had a long wait, but it was worth it. Because we weren't sure when we would be back, we went all out. Guava pancakes were FABULOUS! The pancake special was delicious, too, banana pancakes with pineapple cream topping. Kalua pork eggs benedict was good and the omlette special (artichokes, spinach, cheese, tomato) was great. We also got a red velvet pancake and cinnamon roll, just to try. They were both, very, very good. I am not sure when/if we will ever make it back, but our first visit was GREAT! Oh, the coffee is delightful, too.
Hubbsolo
The red velvet pancakes were delicious. If that was the only menu item, I'd still frequent this spot. Also had an omelette. Perfect.
Ritarsha
Great food, good service. Try the red velvet pancakes!!
Rfoster2
Great. ALWAYS friendly, great food, good service. Sometime a wait but well worth it.
LNW
Gross. Been there a few times. Plan to wait a looooong time for a table on the weekends and on some week days, too. I find the atmosphere to be dingy. Service has always seemed abrupt. Not polite but not rude either. We live about 15 mins away but never go there anymore. We would rather go to an upscale brunch in town. The food is decent here, but I don't understand why people rave about it. It would hardly hold a candle to the really great places, coupled with a nice atmosphere and friendly service, on the mainland.
Chelsea
The food is awesome compared to most breakfast eateries in Kailua. I don't particularly feel that it's the best I've ever had, but I do think it's worth the price you pay. The guava pancakes are not too bad. The cinnamon rolls are great especially when hot.
Michi
RED VELVET PANCAKES are a must if your in town visiting, especially if your from Japan. The Benedict omelette is runny if you add spinach so becareful! Good eats though
Mike
My standard weekend treat for awesome crab eggs Benedict. Arrive soon after 7am opening to avoid a possible long wait...
Jolynn Quihuis
Good food, good service and good $$$. We have a family of 5 (2 adults 3 teens) and spent $40. That's a good deal for 5. We had red velvet pancakes, banana pancakes, mac-nut cinnamon roll, HUGE omelet, and the list goes on and on. The red velvet cakes were very tasty. Looking foward to coming back to try the guava cakes. We ate out on the patio the breeze was nice. The service was good, we will be back.
Jess
The food is amazing, they have the best eggs benedict and their coffee is amazing. Service is always good. P.s. sundays is breakfast only-no lunch.
Lila
Prices are reasonable, service is great, and the eggs benedict and red velvet pancakes are to die for!
Jtw
Nothing special. This restaurant is definitely not worth the wait. Breakfast wasn't anything special. But since there are hardly any choices in Kailua , it a place to go if you don't want to cook breakfast.
To Eat Or Not To Eat
Amazing breakfast.. Have recently moved out here and will be visiting cinnamons quite often! They had a special on red velvet pancakes-one of the best things I've ever eaten. Biscuits and gravy were the closest I've gotten to grandmas homemade. Server was nice but wouldn't rate it as great service. Hostess not friendly at all but well worth the trip!

Best customer service on the island!. I couldn't agree more with the great reviews given by users below... the food at Cinnamons is amazing, and the vibe is truly Hawaiian Style. I just wanted to add that the experience is extremely pleasant and unique because the staff is super friendly. Our server was great to start with, but then we had a couple other staff members stop by to check on us, and talk story about our favorite foods at Cinnamons. Everyone here is so welcoming, and it hard to find true Aloha sometimes (sad, but true.) I love Cinnamons for a great start to the day... good food and good people.

Cinnamon's is great!. I found Cinnamon's thanks to the reviews here. It's conveniently located a few blocks away from my doctor's office so I figured i'd check it out. The decor is relaxing and is made to give the feeling of being outside with the comfort of being inside Hawaiian style. Great fast and friendly staff. I came here specifically for breakfast. The coffee was great and I ordered the special Red Velvet pancakes. Best pancakes i've ever had, hands down. Moist and soft. Well complimented with the syrup on top. My husband ordered a Farmer's Omelet that looked great too and he seemed pleased. Definitely going to make this place a to-do every time I see my doctor. :)

Amazing!. We saw them on Food Network and the food looked amazing. When we went there we mentioned that we had seen them on t.v. We asked them about their guava chiffon pancakes and he said he'd bring us a sample, he brought us a stack of 3 giant pancakes. To make a long story short the food is amazing, I recommend it to all my friends when they travel to Oahu.

One of the best breakfast places ever! Guava chiffon pancakes, to die for. Awesome omelettes, loco moco, chocolate banana pancakes. Great service and great coffee. Can't wait to go back!
Phoker
Try a combo eggs Benedict I get one lox and one crabcake with tomato and spinach plus the homefries.
Ginny Ceglia Wescott
If you want to eat where the locals eat, go to Cinnamon's! We've lived in Kailua for years and this is the ONLY place to go for breakfast! Highly recommend the Kalya pork eggs Benedict and the French Toast with Macadamia Nut syrup. Yummy!

Cinnamons, just thinking about it makes me want to jump off bed and take a 20 min drive for breakfast here. I have friends that recently moved and the 2nd thing they miss is going to Cinnamons-their 1st is Hawaii itself, I'm just glad I live here so I can enjoy more often. I tried their guava chiffon pancakes....imagine a spongy buttery pancake smothered in a sweet delicious light guava syrup with cloudy whipped cream in your mouth. For me eating this pancake was an amazing experience. Their Customer service was good too, although we had to wait (obviously cause it's so good locals & tourists come here) their service was pretty fast. The wait, may I say, gave us time to have a happy conversation (one of the side effects of smelling the fresh air at their restaurant). In basic terms: good ambiance!
Ben Parker
We've been here twice in three days and we've been impressed with everything. Their banana pancakes are excellent, but the service is the best part.
Lilly Kehau
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!. Best hollandaise ever. One of the only places that still makes their own hollandaise from scratch, by the way... their crab cakes are to die for, their daily breakfast specials are creative and amazing. <br/>Every Cinnamon's host, waiter and waitress I've ever talked to is friendly, helpful, and GREAT at what they do. They definitely know how to keep people coming back, and I've been eating there without a complaint for over 20 years. <br/>I suggest the crabcake benedict, the guava chiffon pancakes, the carrot cake pancakes, or the S.A.N.D. (start of a nice day, pancakes, eggs, the works). Oh, and the corn cakes with blueberries. For lunch they have an out-of-this-world curry chicken salad in a half papaya, which may sound strange, but trust me...........
Christopher Cheung
Terrible food here.
Joel Lawrence
Best breakfast in all of Hawaii. Great, fast service! Amazing food! Great coffee! Price was really great. Eat inside or outside on the lanai.
Kate M
Great food! We had omelettes and French toast and everything was very well done. Our bill was $21 for two people (not including tip). It was hidden inside a shopping center, and most of the street parking is metered and requires quarters. The service was decent and much better ambience than the other diners in the area.
Rob Souza
Kalua Pig Eggs Benedict..... Yummy~!!. Sunday September 6th 2009, I called the restaraunt early (720am) to let them know we had a rather large group (25+) and would be there around 8am. <br/><br/>The staff was very accomodating and helpful. The food was even better! Eggs Benedict with Kalua Pig instead of the usual Ham and Canadian Bacon, home fried potatoes. The order is big enough to serve two, but I was selfish and ate it all!
JJ
Great food. I wish I could eat more... so that I could eat more! Love the omelets, love the apple pancakes, love the eggs Benedict.
Dave Mac
Huge menu!. Come here for breakfast and ponder the huge menu! Sometimes there is a wait, but it goes by fast. We've spotted "Hurley" from LOST here a couple of times.

Cinnamon's is a family friendly breakfast & lunch restaurant, famous for their fluffy pancakes. There is covered outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. It was a sunny day so I'm glad we got to sit outdoor. It is a popular restaurant so expect a wait; we waited about 20 minutes on a Tuesday at about 1pm. There is ample meter parking in the back.
Meagan
Their Crab Cake eggs Benedict with spinach and tomato were beyond good.
Valerie Shaindlin
This was actually only my second time ever at Cinnamon’s, and I can’t wait to go back and try something new next time I’m home. Afterwards, I drove over to nearby Lanikai beach to read in the sunshine and digest that huge breakfast.
Wendy
Think breakkie. But better. If only we had this back home! I mean come on, RED VELVET PANCAKES with white chocolate sauce? Next time I want to try the guava syrup on pancakes. Top it all off with a cup of Kona coffee. Heavenly pancakes, yes 2 were enough, plus a side of bacon!
