Very nice, historic place. The food was great, the service excellent... very attentive and charming. The view - hard to beat. Happy hour drink prices good. Their Mai Tai excellent too!

Fabulous service with a great view, especially at sunset! I would recommend the Mai Tai definitely in my top 3 that I've had on the island. The food was great large portions. My only comment is that the vegetables were on the cold side, and I would ask for a little bit less sauce on the tuna stack as it overpowered the fish.

Really beautiful restaurant right on the beach in Kona… this place has an amazing view, with a royal aloha experience. We enjoyed the stacked tuna, clam chowder and coconut shrimp. Food was good, the clam chowder could have been a bit thicker but it’s not Boston after all :-)

Our first night in Kona was spent dining at this well-known restaurant. The 7 of us all enjoyed our meals. Then had their world famous Mudslide pie. I highly recommend

Fantastic food and service since the 70's. Beautiful beach front outdoor dining experience; the cafe has a retractable awning that is retracted at sunset, for a beautiful open air atmosphere, 40 feet from the beach. The large raised bar also provides great views of Kona Bay.

Nice restaurant with water view. It's a nice spot to watch the sunset if you time your meal right. Food is good and American style with a focus on fish Hawaiian style. We made the mistake of ordering nachos and while it was great, it didn't leave much room for us for the main meal.
Mai tai was strong and tasty and beautiful to look at, the wedge salad was good and the dressing was a bit runnier than I like. Coconut shrimp was excellent and very delicious. Overall a convenient stop for a good meal.

Such a cozy place very 1940s-1950s vibe! Loved the food, drinks, view, and atmosphere. Check out the old pictures on the walls.

Very nice restaurant. We just happened across this place. I saw the ocean view from the front of the restaurant and thought I'd give it a look. The fish sandwich was delicious and the happy hour margaritas were a nice treat.

Highly recommend making a reservation, especially if you want a table on the water. Beautiful atmosphere, perfect view for our last sunset in Kona, macadamia crusted mahi was amazing. Service was not great, not terrible. She was friendly enough, just not very on top of refilling drinks, splitting the bill when asked before bringing, bringing the bill before being awkwardly asked, forgetting whose card was whose. Very good food, would return.

Celebrated my birthday at Kona Inn. I would say of all the restaurants we visited this one had the best view. The beach is right across the lawn and we ended up coming for sunset. We didn't make a reservation and got sat right away but were there right when they opened for dinner. It got busy real quick, and I would recommend making a reservation if planning on showing up around 7:00. Great atmosphere. We ordered the coconut shrimp, tuna stack, macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi, and the mud pie. Coconut shrimp was good but not your traditional crunchy coconut shrimp, it had crunch but flaky coconut was used and did not taste like a panko breaded style. Nice coconut flavor but not overwhelming. The Mac nut crusted mahi was delicious - they give you a generous portion - very crunchy outside and flaky delicious fish inside. The tuna stack was seared ahi on top of a crab cake and rice with sauce. The fish was good, smothered in a good red pepper aioli. The side dishes on both were meh, rice Pilaf had a good flavor but basic and the vegetables were a bit mushier than I'd prefer. Mud pie is typical ice cream on Oreo crust with whipped cream - you could split this between a lot of people, it's huge!
Shout out to Damien who was an awesome server and made our dinner fun and welcoming. Service was on point here.
I would come back for dinner if celebrating an occasion. The atmosphere makes for a great dinner.
