Great Americano. Full body and silky smooth. They also know how to make it properly ... Shots on top of the water so the creama retains it specialness. I also had the snicker doodle and it was soft, chewy goodness. If you are visiting and need a beak fro
The cruise ship, this is s great little find.
You know your at the right place when they get the basics 100% right on, to the point of having the most enjoyable and memorable over easy eggs with bacon, home fries and toast. The cook must really enjoy what they do to put so much care into the simple details. Such as every single piece of potato was perfectly crispy and uniformly coated with seasoning.
Most definitely eat here!
Food and service recommended BUT . . .. We liked The Rookery. I loved my caesar salad. The service was good too. But seriously, the place needs a good cleaning. We were afraid big chunks of dust would fall from the ceiling fans on to our plates.
Hands down the best restaurant in Juneau. The food is fresh and a lot locally sourced. The choices on both the small & large plate menus all sounded so great it was hard to choose. We ordered a bunch of stuff and shared. And the price they charge for what you get is great. Dinner was amazing. Simply outstanding.
Fine dining in the wilds of AK!. We are always on the lookout for eclectic fine dining. Superb fresh Haibut with fennel and an amazing beet and goat cheese salad. Love how they change the menu every day. Wonderful!
Really liked my feta, pesto, and sundried tomato crossaint. The coffee is also excellent.
Eclectic Menu, Events, Functionality. The Rookery Cafe's menu transitions from bakery breakfast into lovely lunch offerings and then segues into a variety of dinner pairings. It is the latter with which I am most enamored. Dinner...perfect...in every way....menu, flavors, portion sizes, service, atmosphere...been waiting a long time for something this divine to arrive in Juneau. Rookery dinner will appeal to local coterie clad in typical rain forest couture looking to meld into a relaxing evening out (best to leave the children at home). Thank you very much for cooking up a delicious fine dining experience in Alaska’s capital!
This was such a great little cafe we just happened to stumble on! The soup and roll was amazing, as was the marshmallows in the cocoa. They also serve beer and wine. Terrific find!!!
Best coffee in town with a nice assortment of pastries ; sandwiches , salads and desserts. Historic Western interior/design; free wifi ; and polite knowledgeable staff. One of Juneau's better Cafes.
Great Coffee in Juneau. Was looking for a different cafe on the same street but we saw the "We Serve Stumptown Coffee" sign in the window and knew this was the place to be. We were not disapointed. The cappuccino and latte was great and the milk was foamed perfectly. No sugar is needed when the milk is done properly.
My wife and I had the bear claw...and it actually looked like one. They used whole almonds as the tips of the claw and was tasty. Ive had bear claws in the past but this is my favorite. The middle is filled with crushed nuts and sweet syrup.
This coffee house has everything a great coffee spot should: spacious well thought out space, free wifi and truly great coffee.
Somewhere to hide during the cruise. A toasted sandwich and a 20oz hot beverage, the perfect hideaway from the folks on your cruise ship.
Free wifi too!
We started with the Artichoke Parmesan Dip & House Focaccia, it was fabulous. Dave and I like to think we're somewhat artichoke dip connoisseurs, we tend to get it as an appetizer most places that it's offered...and we really loved their take on it. I had the bimbimbap for my meal and it was equally delicious.
Best coffee in town. Best breakfast in town. The coffee beans are freshly roasted. Staff are dedicated to created latte art. Latte temperatures are perfect. Breakfast selection is diversified. Bakery is also top notch. We came here every morning after tasting it once.
Best coffee shop in Juneau! I had a latte and a chocolate cinnamon croissant. Both were the best I’ve had here. The atmosphere is very relaxing and cozy. They also offer a full menu with breakfast and lunch and to go options. The staff is very friendly. Located downtown near lots of cool, local shops.
This was a cool a little place to eat. We went for breakfast. When you walk in, you'll go up to the counter to order. They had some good choices like your typical two egg breakfast. They also had different types of Sando's and variety of fresh danishes. The coffee was pretty good too. Two thumbs up!
I really love the atmosphere here, I could spend all day sitting at the window and just watching the passerby. The Korean Chicken Sandwich was also really good, with just the right amount of spice and crunch.
Excellent turkey sandwich with balsamic onions and excellent seemingly homemade tater tots. Good stop for $12. I would revisit.
Salads are worth the money. Fresh, crisp vegetables, the spinach was not wilted or old and floppy. The chicken was flavorful and the salad was NOT drenched with dressing. PUlled pork was tender, tangy, with a hint of smokey sweetness. The slaw, again, fresh and crunchy. Sometimes slaw is run through a buffalo chopper and darn near minced. IN that form, when it sits in dressing for more than a day, the texture is mushy and and all you can taste is the soupy dressing. All on a toasted brioche bun. Well done. My husband eats here on a regular basis because of the hearty, fresh salads.
Pros
- Coffee is so high quality & well made, sugar is unnecessary
- The pastries will change your life
- The atmosphere is one of the best in Juneau
Cons
-Pricey (but hey it’s Alaska so par for the course!)
Very good coffee. Lots of options. Breakfast is made to order. Good spot to meet and mingle with the locals!
