I’m a local and this is the place to go for breakfast in Juneau! It’s fantastic every time we go.

He said it was heaven. Food and service were good.Fresh ingredients, friendly, helpful staff and quick service. A-May-Zing. We highly recommend Sandpiper Cafe.The food is good, and reasonably priced (for Juneau). The eggs were perfectly cooked. Very enjoyable place.

Food and service were good , we had breakfast, before the Sunday crowd, , it was a bit pricey but what isn't in J-town ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

We have eaten here several times, and it is a great restaurant for breakfast or lunch. Not fancy, but pleasant atmosphere and doesn't feel crowded even when busy. The food is good, and reasonably priced (for Juneau). It didn't get a 5 from me because of the staff. No one seems particularly happy to be working there. And it is very difficult to get your water or coffee refilled, or to pay in a timely manner once you are done eating.
Had breakfast/lunch at the Sandpiper today. We were pleasantly surprised at the decor and atmosphere when we walked in. Very clean and modern. Lots of great choices for both breakfast and lunch. We had the crab cake benedict and a bleu cheese and bacon burger. We added a bowl of navy bean soup with cornbread. All were flavorful and had great portion size. Combined with great service, it's no wonder this is another local favorite.
Delicious!. We had breakfast here twice while in Juneau. The eggs were perfectly cooked. Very enjoyable place.
Good Food, Good Location!. A little pricey, but hey, you're in a town not connected by any roads to the Lower 48! Sandpiper Cafe is a true staple of a breakfast joint in the downtown Juneau area. Visitors should come try this place and enjoy their great foods. I especially enjoy their simple bagels that they toast up and serve with generous goodies. Real fun to sit inside, enjoy your meal, and look out at the snowcapped hillsides.
Great breakfast, good burgers, and friendly staff. I've yet to try their espressos, next time!
French toast special is awesome! Salmon omlette was delicious. Amy our server was attentive and adorable. Loved her new tattoos with a heartfelt story.
Great food! Breakfast, lunch and the specials are always amazing. A little expensive but the portions are huge, you always walk out of there with a snack for later. Service has improved from the past but still expect a wait if hitting it up on a weekend morning.
Best Breakfast/Lunch in Juneau. Always satisfied with my meal at the Sandpiper. It is more expensive then the other bland places in town, and you get what you pay for. Good, fresh, nicely plated food, and LOTS of it. We always take home some leftovers. The eggs benedict are delic, as are the breakfast burritos and the french toast, especially those with the marscapone cheese For lunch I love the bowl of soup and salad. It is probably the best deal on the menu for just $10.99. It is served with your choice of bread, which are hearty and home made. I love their cornbread! The service isn't the best, but when I go out, I am usually not in a rush. They are now open 7 days a week and DO TAKE RESERVATIONS.
Great food, not so good service. The food here is excellent. One of the best places in Juneau. There service is not consistent however. Every now and then you get good service but for the most part the service is pretty crappy.
The food here is amazing! I had the Denver omelet and it was really good. The service was really nice as well :).
Unexpected gem. Far nicer on the inside than the exterior. Only found it due to Urbanspoon. Great food and service.

Wow! How did i not know about this place! Very large and varied menu (which is great for someone with as many food allergies as I have). The creative approach to the meals is pleasantly surprising (my husband had the Italian omelet filled very generously with Great Italian sausage, zucchini, etc... And REAL cheese NOT sauce). I had the "special" sourdough Blueberry pancakes AND they were divine!! I look forward to more visits to this very chic little Sweet Spot. (to those reviewers complaining of noise, yes...it's a bustle of activity not an intimate place. I suggest you order yours to-go and hit the beach)
Great food. Very understaffed. Waited to be seated for 20 minutes while staring at an open table. There are not many good breakfast places in Juneau so they get a bit slammed and don't seem to be prepared for that.
They use to be great but the quality is going down rapidly. I used to not mind the speediness but now it's not worth it. Fix it.
Good food! They have the stranger menu options in town, and it's delicious, but you pay for it!!! And the hours kind of suck. Best breakfast around though!
Best breakfast in Juneau. Staff is great. They hand out cookies during the holidays!

Great breakfast. I have friends that won't go there unless I drag them because the prices are too high and the service is spotty however, I'm a fan of their breakfast menu. It's not too greasy and the variety is refreshing. The toast is hearty and tastes homemade. The menu has dishes that have a great mix of ingredients that compliment eachother well... I dont want to say the food is snobby-sophisticated but it's not your run of the mill "ham & cheese omlet with a side of frozen fried hashbrowns on the side" joint - although I'm sure they'd be happy to oblige if you asked for that. They have a large selection of daily specials and also serve espresso. They are open daily from 6am-2pm but closed on Tuesdays. I recommend to everyone to try it out themselves and see if they like it.
WHAT?!?. The food was great and the service was good. However, it was so loud that we couldn't carry on a conversation (no curtains or rugs to soak up the noise). In addition, we were seated directly next to the entrance and I felt like I was sitting in a hallway. I did not enjoy the atmosphere at all. Will I go back - YES . . . and pick up my TO GO order!
Good food/Good Service. OK granted we visited the Sandpiper Cafe in April (off tourist season) for breakfast. There were a few open tables but the place was busy. We were seated right as we walked in the door-the wait person was polite and friendly. No issues with service-and the food was pretty darn good!
I don't often write review for restaurants even though I travel quite a bit and eat out often. I felt compelled to write a good review for the Sandpiper because of all the bad ones commenting on poor service.

Good food doesn't.... Make up for bad service. We went for breakfast. The place wasn't really full but not empty. We saw our server when he took our order and then not again till he gave us our bill. He didn't even take our credit card. The other waitstaff (the very nice guy who kept our coffee cups and water glasses full, checked on us, brought us extra butter, etc) actually saw us waiting and took our payment. We gave him and extra cash tip...Even though the food was good, it wasn't THAT good...
Food was good. Service was fair. Our server took our order and then brought us the check at the end of the meal. The bus boy got us our water, coffee, butter, etc.
Probably the only place in town that has a good breakfast menu. The atmosphere and service is not bad either check this place out.
Good Food And Decent Service. One of the few places in town I'd get up early for on the weekend for a decent breakfast out....the choices there are among the most unique in town...you do pay a price for the uniqueness however, but it's worth it, as they don't skip on the portion size. My only suggestion is that you go while everyone else is at church, after 11am, be prepared for a wait that almost rivals Chan's Thai Kitchen in Auke Bay.

Terrific breakfast spot in Juneau. Very clean and bright! Many choices on the menu. The crab cakes hollandaise with the fried capers was very good. The crab melted in my mouth and the fried capers added a fresh, salty bite. Very staff. Fast service.
We had a delicious breakfast this morning. Chicken fried steak, yogurt with granola and cinnamon vanilla French toast. And the latte was so smooth, I loved it. Service and food is outstanding. We highly recommend The Sandpiper Cafe.
I had the French toast sampler which was fantastic. The service was great and the place was clean and quick. I would love to eat here again.
Great local spot for breakfast. We came from out of town and it was recommended to us by our host. It was busy for a Friday morning but my wife and I were still seated right away. Our server was very friendly and service was good. Food took a little while to come out but that was understandable given how busy it was…. But man oh man was it worth the wait! I got the crab Benedict and my wife got the lox and both were very fresh and tasty. I really recommend this place for breakfast!
The food is phenomenal. I ordered vegetarian eggs Benedict with potatoes and it was a blast of flavor with every bite.
Our meal was very tasty and our waitress treated us kindly. The sourdough ricotta pancakes were a real treat. We also enjoyed the Denver omelet. I was surprised that shortly after they opened (7am) there was already a wait, so try to get there early.
Solid breakfast! Huge portion. Very busy on Saturday and Sunday morning, but we made reservations for 8:30 am and got in as soon as we arrived.
