We were extremely pleased as always. It is a very busy place because the food is excellent and the prices are great. I do not mind a few minute wait because we know, after 20 plus years as customers, that our order will be beyond expectations. Home cooking, down to earth staff. I have such fond memories of Pappy's and always will. I ordered ahead and they were right on time with fresh food and smiles all around on the busiest day of the week, dinnertime to boot. If there is a line out the door because it's good, and they are working their butts off to make it that good...it's fantastic! Hands down :)
Can’t say one bad thing. Brought back childhood memories. Pizza was delicious. Smoked chicken was absolutely phenomenal and the wings were huge and delicious! Thank you! Well worth the 5 hour drive.. I only wish that you still had the red birch beer and the balloons with the feet on the bottom
Stopped by with my daughter, it appeared to be busy but we were seated promptly, our food came quick and was delicious, we were checked on frequently and the entire visit had nothing negative. I have been going to Pappys since I was a kid, used to love watching the pizza dough being tossed through the windows . I would recommend going there, they have great food, great specials and great service
My whole family loves this place! Great food, great service, great price. So much better than going to a chain restaurant like crapplebees or chijis.
Love their pizza, they also have a great catering business. Anita is great to work with, you end up with great food, fun and still money in your pocket. Thanks for everything my seniors loved the food
The garlic wings were flavorable, nicely sized, beer was cold, and the pizza was delightful too. One of the very few family establishments around that give one a sense of an original feeling!
From an out-of-towner's perspective, there was nothing from the outside of this restaurant to seduce us to visiting here, but it also seemed like the antidote for a chain restaurant, and that was why we gave it a try. Talk about a smart choice. Four stars instead of five, only because it feels dated, and dark inside, and may need a good polishing. On the other hand, Leah, our server was friendly and engaging, the food was quite good, and you could not beat the prices. Dinner for 2, a 1/2 pound cheeseburger, and a rib-eye sandwich, both with fries and a drink for only $24. There is an arcade in the back, which we didn't check out. It was a good spot on the busy Route 56, if you're trying to get out of Johnstown. If we ever get back that way, we'll probably visit again.
Pretty good joint. But honestly I felt the pizza (although tasted great) probably could cook a bit longer to get it stiffer with less flop. Good little family joint. Staff could have been a bit more friendly and happier to have customers but food was brought out in a timely manner
