Friendly's

My wife and I were in town and as we live in Massachusetts, we were thrilled to see a Friendly's out this way! Came in tonight, a Sunday evening at around 7:30pm. The host was very friendly and sat us immedietly. Our server, Sam, was delightful during our dinner, making sure we got the best dinner we could have asked for and kept us smiling the whole time. The food was cooked perfect and service was super fast. I was shocked our appetizer, the delicious mozzarella bites (30 mini mozzarella sticks), were at our table within a couple minutes. I got the triple bacon cheeseburger which was absolutely cooked to perfection! This was the best Friendly's experience I have ever had! I would come back to Johnson City and Binghamton just for this Friendly's!

Went around 5pm on Friday, so it was fairly busy which is so good to see again, I really missed seeing a populated restaurant. Our server was super nice and helpful. Also just be prepared for a little bit of a wait when arriving and for food, like 10-15 min for food which isn’t bad at all given that restaurants are opening back up completely again and have to catch up to the sudden influx of diners. Dinner and sundae were excellent.

Came in on a typical Sunday funday for my usual banana split and fries. I was greeted with many smiles as I came in to be seated. The waitress was pleasant and the food was great! I was also greeted by a handsome man named Eric who seemed to be the Manager, was very helpful as my experience couldn’t have been any better! Will be coming in for more ice cream, thank you!!

It took us almost 10 minutes to get seated and what makes it even worse is that nobody even acknowledged that we were standing there waiting for a table. There were 13 of us total in two separate parties. Our waitress was fantastic but our sundaes sat long enough that they might as well have been melted completely. They were close to soup by the time they got to us.

I was a bit disappointed with the new menu - many old favorites gone, many new dishes with brisket, which they were out of. Hmm. I know they are to be open for breakfast again soon, which is nice, but they have a small staff and the wait is long. Some of the staff there who have hung in there through the pandemic are like old friends, and I don't wish to slam anyone. We love Friendly's. I had the Fishamajig which was okay, I asked for it to be on a burger bun I stead of the toasted bread. I had wanted the fish and chips or the shrimp platter, but neither of these is on the menu now. Bummer. My husband had a grilled chicken salad which was in quite a small bowl for a dinner salad. He enjoyed it all the same. We had ice cream free with our meals, as we are seniors, and it was as delicious as ever.

I placed an online order to be picked up (over $50 worth of food). The order was to be picked up at 8:08pm, at 8:40pm I am texting my husband wondering where he is. I had ordered/paid for a veggy burger which they ended up not having. We were not offered a partial refund. At that point, with two cranky kids I was over it and just wanted my husband to get out of there so I had him just get a fry for me and ask for a refund for my food. No refund was given and they never gave him his extra fry. He ended up coming back to retrieve it but I'm still out the price of veggy burger meal and by the time my family ate after 9, food was cold. I'll never go back again, I am shocked at this whole experience, even took him forever to be acknowledged. I used to rave about Friendly's to my kids, not anymore!
