I ate here today burger was delicious and cooked perfectly. The fries were huge steak fries probably the best I ever had, nice and crispy. Waitress was very polite and encouraged me to read about the restaurant's history. Reasonably priced with excellent beer specials. Great place for a beer and a burger.

Down to earth, humble, classic diner/bar/restaurant. Grabbed lunch with my wife and kid today. Was skeptical at first but we were so hungry we just decided to give it a shot. We weren't disappointed. Walked in and it reminded me of my childhood eating at cheap wholesome places with my family. The food was great, just what we were after. Good portions, great taste, very filling. Fried chicken was some of the best i have had and fries were thick cut and golden, sheer perfection to me. Will visit again when in the area.

Maybe the best burger in town! The fries and onion rings are the best, also. The atmosphere could use some sprucing up but the food is great. The fried chicken is really good, also. It's like a neighborhood pub.

This should be on the nations list of historic sites.
I have fond memories of frequenting the juke box booth “up stairs” and ordering chicken tenders when I was getting out of class from science hill.
Friendly people and staff. I was patron back in 2000/2001. Happy to know it’s still going.

We had a glorious dinner there last night (4/26). The french fries and onion rings were fabulous. The sandwiches were great; the chicken tenders were great! ... and the staff is always wonderful, friendly, and professional. Long live The Cottage!!!

The food is amazing. The place is family owned. Past down from the father to their children who are now going on 50 years in business. If your looking for a juicy burger get the best in town and coldest beer. Located near ETSU College. On West market. They have karaoke every Friday night starting around 7 p.m. so get your dancing shoes on and your singles come in and have a wonderful time
