Bella Vita

We love this restaurant and have visited here frequently. The food is wonderful and service has always been great. However, we ordered takeout tonight and our bread was burnt nearly to a crisp. I’m only leaving this review because this is not the norm. I love their bread! But I’m shocked someone would put this in our to go order. Would you guys serve this at your restaurant? Ordered on 8/29/21 and picked up around 830. Please don’t send us burnt bread again :)

3.5 honestly. First thing I saw walking in was that the exterior door to the kitchen was propped open. Yes it was hot and their AC was on the fritz, but this is an invitation for rodents and bugs. We were seated quickly (busy Saturday night) and our server was good. He was gone for a while (we were out of drinks) but he was very pleasant and knowledgeable. We had the cold antipasto and the mussels in Vodka sauce. They were both amazing but there were 4 or 5 mussels that didn't open while cooking so a no go on those. They bring fresh bread to the table and keep it stocked. It was near perfect. The house chianti was very good. The beer offering fell short, especially for this area. For the main course, we had the carbonaro and the rollatini ala margarita. The carbonaro was fine. Not the best but hearty. The rollatini was very overcooked and the chicken was dry. The dessert was the biggest disappointment. The "blueberry layer cake with white chocolate icing" looked amazing but the actual cake tasted like the kitchen to be honest. I assume it was baked and cooled open air in the kitchen and absorbed the flavors.

Delicious!!! We were in Johnson City for the night and I wanted Italian food. This gem did not disappoint. The service was on point. The owner stopped by our table and asked if we had questions. Italian food/pasta is not a favorite of my husband's, the owner took time to inquire about what he likes. He made a suggestion and even said he could customize anything because he is the chef. The portions were HUGE!!!! I had the penne with vodka sauce and my husband had fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp. It was delicious. The bread, salad, pasta, service and limoncello was perfect. We will definitely be going there again.
